Iowa vs South Carolina, 3-31-23

I am nervous about this game – I so want Iowa to win but S Carolina is very tall and very big. They are also unbeaten. One hour to tip off.

Weather is threatening tonight in North Iowa – wind and snow after midnight. Tornadoes in southern Iowa this afternoon. Weather makes me nervous, too.

I hope the power doesn’t go off during the game.

I hope your power doesn’t go off and that you and all stay safe and no more tornadoes. I had hoped U of Md women basketball team would make it but since they didn’t, I will root for Iowa!

Mary, I’m in Des Moines….that was a looong 35 seconds of the Louisanna Game! 15 more minutes to wait to see Iowa play. No tornados this afternoon, but I went into Starbucks after some much needed shopping and could barely get the door open to get out!

Saw green grass at Perry, no snow and 72 degrees! Whee….

    Enjoy the game!

I’m sitting in Southern Illinois hoping our satellite TV stays on as a severe storm system passes through waiting for the game to start.

Oh my Mary, please stay safe. Since you have so much unpredictable weather out there, I’m very surprised you don’t have a generator? Hope all of your critters are safe in the barn snug in their winter hay.

We’re seeing the dogwoods starting to bloom. Spring is on the way.

So far,so good. Iowa playing tough—good job. SC is big. Whew! Keep going Hawkeyes. Stay warm and safe, Mary and all.
56* today, but big winds coming tomorrow.

Our first snow storm is over. Maybe 8″ snow, but hard to tell. The wind blew hard this afternoon so no use shoveling the drifts til it stops. The neighbors blew some of my snow earlier. It is heavy, wet slush and hard to shovel. The next storm will hit Monday afternoon and it is supposed to be BAD. Who knows as only time will tell. Weather map looks like we are right in the middle of it. Sounds like a good day for a crock pot of bean soup?

Don’t we just love show and tell? I’ve been eyeing the snowflake quilt. It looks like fun. All the quilts are just great. Dogs would be perfect anywhere. I’ll have to see if we get it here.

I’ve been making ironing board covers for Project Warmth to sell at the June quilt show. Didn’t like the covers the stores sell, so I made a pattern off my ironing board and full steam ahead. And the patience of Job while pinning.

Be safe everybody. We can be prepared for snow storms, but not for tornadoes.

I’m originally from SC and my sister graduated from USC. I’m watching the game too and also nervous about the outcome. How do I pull for both???? Wish they both could win. The gals from Iowa are a tremendous team with amazing agility and moves. I’m impressed with both . Its a fun game to watch. Another half to go! Yikes, who will be in the final??? 😁🏀🏀

I should have been in bed an hour ago but I can’t till this game is over. Iowa sure is holding on! My husband has been glued to it. What a game. Winds expected here tomorrow and 60 degrees so what a wild weather day it will be. I am going early to a new quilt shop that opened so looking forward to an outing with my daughter. Stay safe Mary.

Mary – What a game! I’m not a basketball 🏀 person, but I tuned in! Iowa was amazing! Now on to the national championship game! Go Hawkeyes! 🙂

Stay safe and hope the weather isn’t an issue for you this weekend.

How about those Hawkeye Women Basketball?!!! That was so awesome to watch and nerve racking too!

Wow!!! That Iowa Hawkeye girl’s basketball team was fantastic. What were the odds of them breaking a 42 game winning streak of the opposing team?!?!? And then to have Caitlin Clark chosen as the National player of the year is frosting on the cake. Sunday’s game will be another nail biter too, but at least the opposing players aren’t as tall as tonight’s opponents were, and hopefully they won’t be as rough. And, would ‘t it be wonderful if Lisa was voted the coach of the year?
Now after all of tonight’s game excitement, we all need to try to calm down and go to sleep. Maybe I will read for a bit. That always puts me to sleep.

    GO, HAWKS !!!!!!!

Jeanne – I said the same thing – Bluder should be named coach of the year! Did you watch Dawn Staley, S Car coach? She scares me and I wouldn’t want to play for her. What a difference in demeanor between her and Bluder!
