Let’s Catch Up

Morning glories are finally starting to bloom.

Here are some #3 finishes.  Got them in the wrong order but if they post, I’ll be happy! This view will be in the past soon – early mornings on the porch are now too chilly to be pleasant but memories of summer live on.

Here are some Dirty Dozen finishes – August was #3 and Sunday I will announce our September number.

Another #3 finish.

Hurray, Mary! It posted beautifully! And what a lovely treat for the eyes!
    Enjoy your day! 😊

Oh, the morning glories are so pretty. We’ve had a great year for them. Love the #3’s! Everyone is so talented! We sit out in what we call our breezeway most of the time. It was once just a screened in room connecting the garage to the house but a number of years ago my husband put walls up and lots of windows. I hate the thought of not being in that room! It’s so nice having coffee or dinner where you can see so much of the outside. Kind of depressing coming inside when we’ve had to because of bad weather. I’ve even thought of getting a little heater for out there to extend the season. Going to find some ads to click. Jan in MA

Awesome! Not too chilly here yet, but definitely cooling off.! I can’t thank you enough for your rabid persistence in keeping the blog up and running— you’re my hero! I am inspired by the finishes and challenged to keep it up.

Great #3’s! So glad this posted well. Lots of ads, but no x’s to click. Will see if there are some after I post this comment. I, too, miss you when you don’t post, but I understand your frustrations.

I love your blog and am thrilled you are persisting through all your posting issues. Computers are both a blessing and a curse! Thanks for keeping on keeping on!

Awesome pictures! Beautiful picture early morning. Dirty dozen all really niece! It makes fill lazy! Still cleaning house had to stop go to a basket weave. It wipes me out for several days. It’s not causal weaving you have time limits on the weaving. Yes not weather in Ohio! Spooky September coming in! Florida going get hurricane and according to my cousin it’s really hot 100 degrees.

The #3s are wonderful! I love them all. Sherry, the colors in your rug are awesome.
Our wild morning glory is finishing up now. The hummers are sad and back to the feeder. Your morning glory is much prettier than the wild ones. Our mornings are a bit cooler too. We have had one gorgeous summer, though. And, yesterday, we had an earthquake offshore, but we did not feel it here on the farm.

So glad to get your posts with pictures again. Love the morning glory. Is it ‘Grampa Ott’?

  10. Linda

Very much enjoy admiring everyone’s work. Kay, I’ve never see your pattern before. It is stunning!

    1. Kay Crandall

Linda – the pattern for my quilt is “Stepping Stones” – a Judy Niemeyer paper pieced one from Quiltworx.

  11. Linda from Oconomowoc

Hurray! Wonderful post! I especially like the quilt Kay did.
Chilly morning’s here too. It’s 64 in the house but I am not complaining as the dew point is low also. Not turning heat on until October. It’s just a “thing” I have

Boy oh boy, did I mess up the red wing black bird door hanging! The bird legs for the birds are below the red!black half sq blocks instead of right under the birds! I feel SO STUPID! That is what I get for trying to finish before leaving to take care of my sister in Wichita. Lots of corrections coming when I get home.

How many years have you been quilting, Deb? Over 35 you say? Then you have lost your marbles!

    1. Betty Klosterman

Deb, we can work on something being very careful to have it all right. Then somebody takes one look and says that is wrong!! Well, where were you when I needed you? We just get too close to what we are trying to do and it goes right past us. Don’t kick yourself, just laugh. I was told many, many years ago that the only people who don’t make mistakes are either dead or not doing anything!! I like that even tho when I do mess up, I didn’t do it on purpose. It isn’t the end of the world. Enjoy your quilting. Betty K.

    2. Pat Smith

I didn’t even notice a mistake. I thought, “How cute! Each bird is standing on the back of the bird beneath,” just goes to show the quilt is in the eye of the beholder. I loved it!

I always love seeing your barn with its fabulous flag!! This photo is frame worthy!!!
Great finishes on Dirty Dozen projects!! So many creative and talented folks here!

  14. Bonnie

Wish I could be there to share your cool mornings on the porch. It was in the high 80’s here at 5 a.m., heading for 110!! A real scorcher and hotter tomorrow. : (

  15. Paula Nordt

The number threes are lovely! I really enjoyed your other pictures also. What ever you did this time, keep on doing it! It won’t be chilly down here southwest of Houston for a long time. This is the time of year I usually head off up north on a hiking trip with my grown sons. I will miss the cooler temps this fall.

  16. Fiona at Ice Bear Quilts

Love the quilts, but especially the morning glory with the barn in the background. Classic Americana photo!

  17. Pat Smith

Great pictures, plenty of adds to close—just like old times. Thanks for your persistence, Mary. I so love reading about your farm/quilting/animal life.

  18. Cindy-Hayward, Wi.

Mary, It is sooo good to have you back and happy! Sherry Whalen your rug is gorgeous! All the # 3’s are inspiring.

  19. Delores

Thank You, Mary! All the pictures came through. Love the porch view, Morning Glories and beautiful works. My mother always had Morning Glories climbing up the back porch. Memories. Ads still have no X’s.
