No, not one call today from anyone and I was so hoping. My pain is now controlled with ibuprofen but never ever again will I take oxycodone.
Getting the mail is the best part of my day. I have said many times that sending a card is so important! A small price to pay to let someone know you’re thinking of them. I have gotten so many cards – today Rick couldn’t even get them all in one hand!!! Thank you!
Just a few pictures from readers:

These sewing room pictures are WONDERFUL! I wish you would get some news for you too. Wouldn’t that be equally wonderful?
I have to agree with you on the OxyContin. I don’t like taking that stuff as it messes you up. I’d rather take regular Tylenol- not even the Tylenol 3.
I hope you hear soon as I know the waiting is hard and really ridiculous.
I’ve enjoyed seeing the sewing rooms. I’ll get pictures of mine hopefully today.
My son got married this past weekend so I will send a picture of their wedding quilt. It’s been a crazy year with wedding and out of state house remodel.
Susan – saw the quilt – I don’t know how you did it and she’d better never get rid of that masterpiece! Tylenol for me is like taking an m$m – nothing
Please share a photo of your quilt!
Glad comments are back. Love the pics of the sewing rooms. So sorry you seemed to have fallen through the cracks. I know this seems to happen a lot which is not acceptable. Like others said try calling everyone you can to find answers. Hope you can keep the pain under control. I am allergic to codeine as well as oxycodone I have difficulty breathing if I take them. Not good. Glad you are off of it.
Happy the comments are back also! It is fun to see others’ sewing rooms. Of course, I delight in seeing all the pets. I wish so much that I felt well enough to take care of them, but it wouldn’t be fair to them. So I have my memories of mine and love seeing other people show off their beloved ones. I definitely understand the codeine thing. I had hallucinations, so it is on my list not to take. The same happened to my Dad. We think it is a DNA thing. I am sensitive to many drugs. Tylenol makes me sleepy. I hope you will soon get all the medical problems sorted out. It is so time consuming and energy zapping. Wishing you patience and perseverance and good luck and wish I could help you. I don’t know if you can do it because Mayo is not close to you, but when I had a problem, 30 minutes away, I met with someone in person who took care of the problems.
What is it about oxy that you don’t like. I’ve never taken it.
Take care Mary, prayers for you.
What don’t I like about oxy? Maybe the fact that it made me deathly ill
The picture of the two white dogs is mine. I thought they were so cute sunning themselves. We’re pet sitting & this is my friend’s lake house. The one on the otterman is Preston, my friend’s pup. His former owner passed & my friend gave him a wonderful home. The one on the rug is mine, that’s Bentley. These two boys get along so well. When one of us needs a pet sitter, we help each other out. Preston is 5 or 6 & Bentley is 14. This mess up with IT certainly hasn’t helped this situation with Mayo! Some of our banks here were shut down & I’ve heard some of our hospitals were affected also. Praying you get answers very soon!! I can’t take those strong drugs either!
I agree with you Mary about oxycodone. That stuff is awful. How people get hooked on that is beyond me.
Brenda Ks – that’s exactly what I said! What could they possibly like about oxycodone?????
That’s so frustrating to not hear back from Mayo! Hope you hear something today! Glad you got the pain under control with ibuprofen. Enjoying all the sewing room pictures. Your little visitors have the blondest hair! Love the name Rhett!
Loving looks into sewing rooms.. I’ve always called mine my sewing sanctuary which would bring a chuckle to my pastor. To feel peace and serenity even if it’s a mess is my happy place to be me.
Following up on matters seems to be the norm no matter what we do. The days of people getting back to you in timely fashion are rare but necessary part of customer service. It should not be acceptable so I call out anyone who does this to folks because if we don’t, we continue to allow this. So yes, unfortunately Mary make another attempt to call as someone needs to find those original biopsy results to begin the process or give you documentation of what’s been done so far. You deserve an explanation.
Mary I’m so sorry for the headaches and hassles you are having to endure! It’s absolutely ridiculous how you aren’t getting call backs and why they aren’t on top of your situation! You NEED answers! I don’t know exactly what you are experiencing but I have had similar experiences with Drs and labs and it’s so frustrating, annoying and downright exhausting! Not to mention discouraging and overwhelming! Praying right now!🙏
Mary, I’m praying that someone from the clinic will call you soon. That is ridiculous!
I’m loving all the sewing room pictures. My sewing room is so tiny….my cutting table is in the living room. Oh well. I manage. I’ll try and get a picture sent to you.
Hugs and prayers for you!
I hope you feel better, at least a little bit. I’m so glad comments are back. I love the pictures of sewing rooms and quilts and all the pets. Hugs,
Mary I tried to comment yesterday after your post on Sunday. I tried everything to no avail. I’m glad that you are able to Control the pain with just ibuprofen. I had an experience when I was in high school with codeine And it didn’t end well. A doctor had prescribed cough medicine with codeine, which I had never had before for a persistent cough. After an hour at school, I started to feel dizzy and clammy and very nauseous. I ended up running to the bathroom and vomiting and being sick the rest of the day. It was horrible., And I always put codeine as an allergy because like you I will never take anything like that again. Losing your pathology report is ridiculous, and waiting and waiting for scheduling is insane. I understand the frustration with not being able to connect with your doctor or getting anyone to understand the need for speed here. I don’t know how much nagging you can do or who to call to expedite matters. You need someone that can advocate for you and guide you through this medical mayhem. The fact that you were ignored way back in January when you had pain is unconscionable. If you know anyone in the medical field, perhaps they can guide you or be the squeaky wheel for you. Again, many prayers as we are all worried about you.

Mary,
I’m sorry no one called. I know how frustrating that can be. I am truly hoping someone calls tomorrow and your pain co tinies to be managed. Would you post your address please? I can’t find it here, but I’m guessing I’m just not looking in the right place.
Elizabeth, Mary’s address is at the top of the blog under Mary and Connie’s picture.
I’m glad you’re off that oxycodone. That is strong stuff. I agree with Jo. You need to call Mayo and see what’s up. I know Jo Kramer had trouble with them also.
Tina W. your sewing room is fantastic. It’s one that I’ll be dreaming about tonight.
Glad to hear today is a better day and your pain is better controlled. I have been sending prayers up for solution on the doctor situation. (I’m still mad enough to go kick down doors on your behalf.)
Busy week here; sending ceremony and open house at church yesterday for a dear friend and her husband as they leave their life long home for a son’s home in Ohio. I was able to spend a few more hours with them after a doctor’s visit of my own today. First visit as my former doctor left the area; this guy does knees and shoulders but not hips so will have to see another new doctor for that. Tomorrow is a funeral 2.5 hours south for a neighbor where I grew up and then a visit with my MIL. Wednesday is a hair cut (new person there also) and phone time arranging PT on the knee and shoulder. Have to schedule an appointment for new glasses sometime in there. It seems like it never ends.
Maybe Thursday for a sewing room photo. It has been interesting seeing all the sewing rooms. I did get a giggle as I recognized the chair and ottoman in one of tonight’s photos-I’m sitting in the same chair and ottoman. Nice group of quilts tonight; maybe I should make one again. LOL
Hoping you hear from someone in the medical field tomorrow.
Staying up to see the end of the Astros’ game tonight…we lost. Oh, well, as you know, you win a few, you lose a few, but you’ve got to suit out for them all! 🙂
Just finished reading Tracy Chevalier’s new novel called The Glass Maker about a family near Venice from 1486 through 2019. Fascinating look at different time periods and how glass beads are made. If you like historical fiction, check the new shelf at your local library!
I had hoped that you, Mary, would have good news about treatment. Hang in there! We all love you and are sending good thoughts and prayers! Hope the chickens and Rick are behaving themselves! Maybe Farmer Tim will deliver you a few ears of sweet corn before long.
Yeah…Mary is feeling better
Yeah…Comments are back
Boo….no returned calls
I truly wish I were there to help you.
I think you have fallen through the cracks. I’d start calling all contacts again tomorrow and ask when they will report back.
Be aggressive.
I am so sad for you, Mary. I don’t understand why no one is calling you. I hope tomorrow you will get some answers. Hang in there. Lots of us are rooting for you, as you know.
