More ballgames today and Hank will be going home. I’m worried about both Hank and Keeper missing each other terribly.

Great quilt show today. Karla T I’ve never seen that quilt pattern before. Sandy the repetition of the same block is so simple yet very effective. I think I need to start making quilts that aren’t so elaborate. I’m a person that takes a pattern then I make a change to the pattern to make it bigger, smaller or somewhat different. Too much thinking sometimes so then I procrastinate instead of just making it. Oh well I’m sure many of us do this.
I don’t know if any of you remember the bear quilt I made for our guilds February animal themed preemie quilt. Well we have 130 members in our guild and not all are local. About 80 members came to that meeting and 55 animal quilts were handed in. The local hospital is going to be so happy to receive that many quilts. I’m very proud of our guild. Our guilds goal is to have every preemie born in that hospital go home with a quilt. I think we are doing a great job achieving that goal.
Teresa – it’s a lofty goal but obviously one you’ve more than met! How wonderful!!
Hi Mary
Thankyou very much for all these beautiful pictures!!!!
I love the gorgeous quilts and thanks for posting the pic of my girl Eunice!!!!
Thankyou
Bea knight
Great pictures today. I always enjoy every one.
I had breakfast with friends this week and the waitress told us about the owners trouble getting eggs. I stopped at Sams Club, picked up a box of eggs, dropped them off at our local homeless shelter. Mary, the lady cried when I handed her that box. I can’t even send a card to our friends on this blog, but I can do that?! What is wrong with me?
What a kind and thoughtful thing to do, Jo! There is absolutely nothing wrong with you { hugs }
Jo – what a sweet gesture. I cannot give eggs to the local food pantry because they are not inspected. How sad is that?
The pictures are so fun to look at. I thank each of you for sharing your beautiful quilts, pets and scenery around your home.
I finished cleaning up my flower bed later this afternoon and have a couple of colorful primroses blooms already popping up. The sun and warmth were nice for mid March. We also drove to our camp this morning. It was cooler by the lake but still nice to work outside. I saw 2 robins in our yard this morning when the dogs went out. I hope Keeper is doing okay. Hank is probably so happy to see his mom. We’re going to miss the daily pictures of the two of them together.
Kathy – can you send a picture of your dogs? I have forgotten what they look like or what kind they are.
Hi Mary, thank you for showing my quilt and all the kind compliments! My brother and his dog are flying to new Zealand today, restrictions are lifted for Ani
animals from Australia as we have no rabies, etc in our countries. They are going to the top of the south island, my brother as locum for months, then Europe for months holiday. Eileen, the dog is staying on a vineyard with a friendy dog and family, they have a air B and B where my brother has stayed before. International quilt day today so a couple of friends are coming to sew and chat for the day., so l made a bacon and egg pie! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
Thank you Karla T, Sandy and the others who shared their quilts. They are stunning!
Hope you will all stay safe in the weather warn areas.
“Happy St. Patrick’s Day weekend!”☘️☘️☘️
Mary,
Beautiful quilts, each and every one! Your eggs are just so pretty too. My chickens surely like the warming weather. Earlier today, my 4 year old great niece came to bring the chickens some cantaloupe rinds. She was brave and even petted a few of them. She was wearing hot pink sandals/clogs and several of the chickens pecked at her feet! She is the same height as Biscuit who really enjoyed seeing her and gave her a face washing. Biscuit was in heaven as she petted him for quite a while.
I’ve been loving the basketball games.
Have a great weekend everyone. 🌻
The quilts are all lovely. Great job ladies and thanks for sharing. It looks like Keeper and Hank are soaking up each others company while they can. It will take Keeper a few days to recovery having company. No different than we feel after having company for a few days.
Got a lot of brush burned two days prior to today. Went out and checked the burn ring and there was still some heat. We put a couple of buckets of water on them because of the wind and storms we are to get in Iowa. We a close to a level 4. Cut a lot of thorny bushes and vines down and most of the flower beds are cleaned up. Hubby used a beater to clean the rocks out of the lawn along the roads. Nice to get this work done a little early.
Still working on quilting on a panel but wanted to get outdoors work done while the weather is decent. You all have a great weekend.
Rita – we still h e some snow in patches so we’re awhile from yard work but I can’t wait to get started! It is such a mess – will it ever look good again? I think this every year.
All of the quilts are works of art! Thank you all for sharing with us readers! 🙏 And pets! My kids had gerbels, my grandson has a guinea pig…now 7 yrs old. Dogs and cats spread around the family as well. All are loved and bring joy . Ran errands this morning so now ready to sew the afternoon away! I have donation projects to work on. All are scrappy. I really should use my hexagon template more!
Oh no, say it ain’t so, Hank goes home today! Keeper, we all feel your pain and hope the Hankster comes back for a visit sooner rather than later.
Jamie – yes, I hope we all make the effort to keep them best friends!
What wonderful pictures this morning! All of the quilts are stunning and I believe that I would have said many bad words while making the big Elizabeth Hartman one. Sandy’s scrap churn dash is so colorful & that perfectly pieced quilt by Karla with the unique design is amazing. And the star quilts-just a big WOW. I am dog sitting the little spaniel & her name is Ellie. She was a rescue breeding dog from a puppy mill. Very sweet, timid & easy going. The complete opposite from the Jack Russell breed! Love the little calico guinea pig. Our family pig sat the school guinea pig during holidays & over the summer. We kept the cage in a high spot because living in a home with a Jack Russell was quite dangerous! Hank & Keeper are certainly BFF’s.
Love Karla T’s quilt. What’s the pattern, please & Thank you in advance.
Hi Marianne ~ thanks for the nice comment on my quilt. It was a fun one to make 😉
The pattern is Match Play Argyle by EasyPiecyQuilts.com~ it would be so cute in lots of color ways.
Thank you! I like your quilt too. 🙂
Beautiful quilts Karla and Sandy! And the Red & White hexie! Brown & White, Rooster, Star Medallion and Elizabeth Hartman Under the Sea are all amazing. Love Eunice and the little King Charles spaniel. I’m sure Hank and Keeper will miss each other. They get along so good together. I was able to catch the blood red moon last night around 11:18 pm. I just missed the full eclipse by a few minutes. It was was just starting to pass through. Amazing!
I’m worried about Keeper and Hank missing each other too!
As always, love all your pictures and today a surprise! A Guinea pig! I had Guinea pigs when I was young and my kids had one for awhile until my son accidentally dropped him and we had to have him put down.
Paula – Eunice’s pal is named Canoli – isn’t that cute!
The egg lady can make a fortune these days 😉
I hadn’t noticed your avatar/picture before! LOL! It’s adorable!
Charlie Brown hasn’t been over-commercialized ( yet, anyway ) and Peppermint Patty is so cute.
I made the coffee and ready to read the blog about nothing and there was nothing! But, then the coffee was gone and there was the blog! Yippee! Thought you had been busy and didn’t have time….💕
Great pictures! My granddaughter had a hamster that was an escape artist. With two Goldens in the hours that was quite dangerous! They never did get her tho.
We are suppose to get rain and snow, at the beginning of the week they had a big story about all this severe bomb cyclone stuff…..well, it’s lost its steam I think! The weather peeps can really be drama queens! Our local school, west Lyon is in the basketball championship game today. No buses, no cars….eveyone is at the game!
Joy – the tv weather people are ridiculous – they nearly hyperventilate if they have some type of weather event to talk about. Many times they miss the event completely. My mom always said it was the only job where you could be wrong 100% of the time and still keep your job. And one of our stations finds every animal abuse story they can find! I’ve written to them and complained.
