Mary – Thank you. Just absolutely beautiful!
As it was playing my cat woke up and listened.

    Take care everyone.

Silent Night was beautiful, Mary. I also enjoyed seeing your white collection. I could look at your treasures for hours. Thanks. 🥰

Thank you for sharing you playing the piano. I always wanted to play but growing up we were too poor to afford piano lessons or a piano. We had four kids in our family and my parents believed what you did for one you had to do for all. I should have paid myself when I was an adult but life gets in the way of course. Now I just really enjoy others playing.

Thank you so much for playing the piano for us!! Maybe Becky could show us your hands on the keys as you play? The hands always fascinated me as a little girl.
Perhaps you could play the pump organ if someone sturdy stood behind you and kept your stool from moving backwards?? It would be so wonderful to hear a pump organ playing It Came Upon the Midnight Clear, or O Little Town of Bethlehem!!

Ruth – I’ll never show my crooked hands – piano playing is the only thing that keeps my fingers from curling up like a claw. My hands can’t grip anything but they’re still flexible.

Thank you Mary. Your Silent Night was so beautiful, just what I needed this morning. My heart is so broken for my son and daughter in law in Long Beach, they lost their big gentle giant Junior in their arms Tuesday evening. He was always healthy, never any signs of illness and they assume it was a stroke or heart attack, but him collapsing in my sons arms was so frightening and a horrible memory to leave behind. Junior was part mastif, pit and who know, slim at probably 100 pounds, just big but so very, very sweet and loving. Never aggressive, he got excited to see a squirrel on the fence and very excited to jump in the pool and swim with Thomas, but other than that he was just easy. He left behind two little Chiwawa mixes Thomas and Molly rescued, Leroy and Baby J – Jerome. Those two little stinkers could take a toy out of Junior’s mouth and he would just watch them. My kids are so broken over this, it is never easy and you can never prepare to loose your best friend. I don’t know if it is better he went as he did or if they were left to making that very difficult decision, but either way, their loss of this sweet gently giant will be felt for a long, long time.

Linda – oh no!!!! Michele lost her Beemer the same way – he just dropped to the ground and was dead. Sooooo devastating to the owners and I don’t know which I would choose if it were up to me. Drop dead which is so hard on the humans or die inch by inch over time so the humans have the chance to process their loss. I have made that horrible decision many times over the years and it never gets easier. Could you send me their address in my email so I can mail a card?

That was beautiful! I know you play the piano for your church but hadn’t heard a sample. At first I couldn’t figure out how to make it play, but after reading the comments, i knew there must be a way. So, I clicked on the piano and voila! Thank you for a wonderful sample of what you do on Sunday’s.

Pat Smith – I’ve had lots of practice – I’ve been a church pianist off and in, mostly on, for 66 years. My mom was determined to make me an accomplished pianist. Haha!!

I totally missed your piano playing. : ( I have searched the last 3 days.
I’m so glad you are feeling better. It wise to stay home and not be subjected to any of the stuff going around. Just get well!!
I love how Hazel naps with you!! My two used to do that too!! Trinket would lay like Hazel does and Baxter down by my feet! I think Trinket told him to stay away!! She seemed to be the boss! How I miss them.
    Have a Merry Christmas!!

Just beautiful. So calming and soothing to your soul.
I love looking at your “pretties” in your home. I’m especially interested in the little furniture piece with the drawers with the wire tree on top. Is it a child’s piece or something to hold jewelry? Have a wonderful week. It’s good to see you feeling better and getting stronger.

  17. Barbara

Beautifully played. Thank you for sharing your gift of music. I will listen to that during these busy days and feel calm.

Beautiful! Transported me right into the barn at midnight with the animals asleep and snow softly floating down by the light of the full moon. I can even smell the hay.

  20. Linda from New Mexico

How wonderful to open your email today and find you playing the piano. What a beautiful rendition of Silent Night – it’s all in the way you played it. It came from your soul. Thank you. 🙏

Lovely, Mary. Just started the decorating (tree is done), just some house decorating, bannister and sideboard, and your Silent Night popped up and reminded me, it’s really not about the decor.

I hope you’re feeling better today than you were a few days ago. I was happy and befuddled at the sane time that you had a random floating freely weird tumor! The lemonade, not attached to an organ!

  22. Carla J in the mitten

Thank you so much, your play is wonderful.
It’s a snowy here along the lakeshore today. Supposed to 6” or more by tomorrow evening as the storm front comes across Lake Michigan.
The pump organ looks like the one I grew up with. Can’t remember where my folks got it from. Dad replaced the bellows so it was playable. My sister and I dabbled with our early piano lessons on it. My folks were later given a player piano which my dad tore apart, replacing pegs, strings and hammers as needed. The gentleman who tuned our upright piano helped with getting parts. He then added an electric motor as his arthritic knees made it hard to pump. The neighbors held frequent sing alongs thru winters as they all lived in walking distance.
Looking forward to your next recital.

Carla – the pump organ is a workout! And my stool keeps sliding backwards as I pump – haha! I can’t even make it through one song before my arms won’t reach the keys! Hahahaha!!!!!

  23. Jeanine from SE iowa

Mary – That was absolutely beautiful! As others have stated, your playing is so soothing to the soul, and Silent Night is one of my favorite Christmas carols. Thanks you for sharing it with us. God bless you.

Oh my, Mary, beautiful as usual. It is so calming to hear you play and see your lovely home and dishes etc.
I could not believe it, but my Great Aunt Bertie painted that same yellow dog and I have it somewhere. About 6 months ago I asked my husband where it was and he didn’t look so we are going to look now. I love it. A little snow here today, maybe about 3/4 of an inch or less
    Thank you:)
