Aren’t these summer days just glorious? I wait all year for them and spend as many hours on the porch that I can fit in. I did my list of chores this morning before it got too hot.
One job was cleaning the roof and I took this picture so you’d know it wasn’t as dangerous as it sounds. I’m terrified of heights but I can do this if I stay away from the edge.

I trimmed all the vines at the back door so I can take the burn garage out that way. Why do I never think to take a before picture? Here’s the after:

Thanks so much for sending a card to Marsha. She sends these thanks:
How do I begin to thank Mary and my wonderful sister Mareen for all the wonderful friends I have received and also the prayers and good wishes. Mary does a wonderful thing and has the kindest heart. Both my sister and Mary have been thru some hard times with health and I am so thankful for the many friends I have received. Thank the good Lord for all he does.
It’s a pretty disjointed letter but you get the drift.
As I did the chicken count tonight, positions have changed – 2 young ones are actually roosting with the old hens! I counted and recounted until I finally found them. Sigh. Anything to make this harder.

And look at Nancy’s view in Kentucky – her own little slice of Heaven, I’d say.

Nancy’s Kentucky sunset is GLORIOUS!
Thanks everyone – Marsha was overwhelmed with all the cards and well wishes! She goes to Mayo in Rochester next week -prayers she gets answers!
Everything looks so green and lush in your pictures, and the view from your roof too, but a bit scary!
Love the photos today, especially Nancy’s. I’m going to use it for inspiration for a water color if she doesn’t mind. I’ve been taking lessons.
Nancy, what a beautiful picture! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful picture! Our temps have been in the 90’s or very close for wks, humidity very high & it’s been a challenge to keep plants watered to survive. I’ve had plumbing problems & have carried multiple gallons of water to water plants. Plumbing problems are now fixed & the clean up begins. I have gray concrete dust on everything! I paid a very expensive leak detection Co to find the leak & they weren’t even close! But before cleanup begins, I’m taking the day to go to a shop hop/quilt show with a dear friend.
You were definitely busy yesterday! How did the zoom call go? Without a hitch?
Beautiful sunset!! God is the best painter!!!
Nancy’s Kentucky bit of heaven reminds us of how creative our Heavenly Father is and what He is busily creating our Heavenly home. !!!!!!
Nancy, your Kentucky sunset is beautiful!
Mary, since you didn’t have to drive to Rochester today, you were very busy with great results. I am happy you are enjoying these hot summer days. 😅
Summer in the Midwest is not my favorite. For ten summers after dh retired, we were out west. I love high elevation, low humidity, and sleeping in the camper (windows open) with overnight temps of 40 or 45. And then among other things, Covid hit!
