I was just looking at this pattern yesterday and pinned it up in my sewing room so I can remember to cut 2 1/2″ squares when I have scraps. Take it easy moving plants outside. : )

What kind of seeds did you plant to grow a cat?? Highbred Pussy willows or something?? 😉

I hope we are past the storms. One night of heavy winds, then that humongous dust cloud that covered the city below us last night. It was really weird, with the sensation of being higher than clouds.

The wash tubs are out. The one on the deck will hold a tomato along with some radishes and lettuce for ground cover for a couple weeks. And, the big cat would be a raccoon! It is so hard to keep the animals away. Raccoons love to uproot it all. And, the deer like a lot of things on ground level. And, then the turkeys come around to pull up what is left. Wish I could teach them to pull up just weeds!

Think the cat is warming the soil for the plants or guarding to keep the other critters out.

Nice liter box, Mary! Man you give style to your pets!!! Ha, ha!
Planting my herbs today. Garden stores were crowded with this heat we are having. Think it’s chicken burritos tonight for dinner as I am already thinking I need to rethink foods but then again I like soups any time of the year.

We are having horrible winds…..60-80 mph everyday. As we say, it keeps the population down!
The trees and bushes are budding out. My lilacs are a very late variety. I enjoy everyone else’s, then mind. They bloom mid to late June. I have no idea what they are, they came with the house. They have heavy perfume.
    Happy gardening to all.

Ok, when can I order the seeds to grow the cat? I forget which one that is—Ernie Joe? Don’t pull any muscles when moving the plants! Nice here again in Central Ohio. It is too hot for this former Western New Yorker, but other people love it! I am working on a T. quilt ( Duty and Honor) from a Country Threads book, A Country’s Call. I hope to have the top finished soon. Stay cool😺

Diane – the cat in washtub is JB, Tammy’s brother. He’s getting old, too – I know he’s got cataracts bad!

Ahhh. I knew it couldn’t be Ernie Joe ,but wasn’t sure who he was😺.

I made a Free Quilt years ago with denim. It’s one of my favorites and is always on the back of my recliner! With all the scrap colors, it goes with every season!!

Love 💕 the cat😻 plant! Mary, I dont know how you do all that you do. You are one busy gal who accomplishes so much. I marvel at your gardening. I had one whole day of cleaning up and planting pots and I decided to take the next day off! I know your plants will enjoy being outside for the summer.

    Mary,,
Had a good snow start about 5am here! Hung on trees quite a while. Like it better than rain! All melted in sun 🌞! Received the Spring SHOP SAMPLER in today’s mail! Such a great issue with great pictures and patterns! One shop from Iowa City, Iowa!
Plan to watch Golden State Warriors game tonight!

Launa – do you hate to see it snow in May? I think I would. I gotta find the new Quilt Sampler!

In winter I always keep the snow shovel by the back door so I can shovel my way out if necessary. Yesterday I took it downstairs…..hope the snow is over?
Oh, cats. They are such a great animal. A dog goes for all of our approval. The cats have servants!
Here in north Rapid our trees are just beginning to bud/leaf out. If you go 5 miles to the south side, they are all out. We are higher, but I wouldn’t think that would make such a difference.
This weekend is the big celebration at the airbase and the Blue Angels will be flying. Fun to watch. Weather is supposed to be perfect.
Take care. Betty in Rapid City

Betty K – we can only hope spring has truly arrived! I’m sitting in the porch as I write this – something I’ve waited for months to do! Leave that shovel in the basement!!

I’ve seen snow in June here. It’s spring. Just wait 5 minutes and it will change. The little bit of rain has made the grass really grow FAST. Everybody was mowing today. The green really does look good. A lady came into the quilt shop this morning. They had come from 10 days in Yellowstone and saw every kind of weather and a 7 car pileup while they were there. Tourists don’t always do good driving on slippery roads. That is spring in the mountains. It does make me smile. And ALWAYS take your boots, winter clothes, etc when heading for the mountains no matter the time of the year.
        Take care, everybody.

So nice to have some nice weather, not cold and windy, not hot and humid, just right! We are enjoying it. Jerry is planting, planting, planting, tomatoes, flowers, you name it. Fun to see his radishes starting to pop, just lovely weather. We love it. Love your cat in the planter, cats just love to be anywhere that seems interesting!!
