We just had a burst of windstorm….no warning at all! Yet the weather forecasters can go on and on about storms that never materialize – days on end!
Spent lots of time with the girls today – here’s some shots.

From the readers – more great quilts!!

I cannot find the readers name but I have 2 small pastel quilts that I am unable to transfer – about 50 emails ago. Sorry.
And here’s what I’m still working on – the rock garden.

Feel free to send your patriotic or plaid or whatever quilt you choose to my email – we are all loving the expanded quilt show!!

I love your goats, the patriotic quilts and your rock garden. This blog has everything! So much variety. Thanks, Mary!!!
Charlotte – remember, it’s called the blog about nothing! Just everyday stuff – nothing too important or dramatic – like having coffee with friends!
Love the quilts today. I just love them all. I want to know who made the wonderful small patriotic quilts at the beginning of todays show. They are just the kind I love to make, so wonder if there are patterns for them? I keep forgetting (CRS) to send my request for one of Mary’s patterns. Its all ready to go and still in my purse. Mary…are those the chicks you just bought? If so, they have grown so fast. And, aren’t they cute!!
Goats are adorable.
Sue – yes! Those are the chicks – haha! They grow very fast and I’ve enjoyed them so much – all girls so by August I won’t know what to do with all the eggs.
Spectacular quilt show again today, ladies! The goats are so adorable. Loved those pictures too. Mary, I find it amazing also that the weather folks can go on and on and on about potentially awful storms for hours on end and then nothing happens. I realize we must be prepared but most of the time it isn’t even in our area! Then, yes! They miss the mark on weather events entirely. All this global warming/climate change talk in the years to come and they can’t even get the weather right for tomorrow. Sheesh!
The rock garden looks terrific. I know it’s a lot of work but it sure is pretty!
Sue – thank you for understanding my point!! I thought it might only be me but the weather is very important to me with so many animals being cared for and I am sick of being warned and warned about storms that never materialize. And then they miss last night entirely
Loved the quilt show this morning. The animals were great too! A good way to start my day.
I am making today my own sew day! Ha Things need to be done outside but the weather is supposed to cool a little tomorrow so going to the city will be better tomorrow. My basement is cool always. I have a baby quilt to finish on the long arm.
I love the goat pictures and the quilts! The log cabin is striking!
The patriotic quilts are all wonderful! Thanks to everyone sending the pictures to Mary, and thanks to Mary for sharing them with all of us. Like some have said, this is better than going to a quilt show. I also enjoy seeing all the animals. Love the goats, and those chickens have really grown. It will be so fun to get those first pullet eggs.
Today is the first chemo treatment for our daughter since her double mastectomy on April 15. She has had a rough go of it since then, and then recently went to the dentist as they don’t recommend going during chemo treatments. She had a cracked tooth, so needed a crown put on. That was done, and now she is having terrible pain from that. She went back to the dentist yesterday, and no infection, just will take longer than normal he said. If not better, she may need a root canal, which she doesn’t need right now. I’m praying her treatment goes well today in Sioux Falls, SD, which is four hours from their home. They drove there yesterday. Just thought I’d give a little update on her. Prayers are appreciated.
Also, have been praying for little Elio and wonder if there is anything new with him.
Have a wonderful day.
Praying for your daughter. God bless!
I’ve added your daughter to my prayer list!
Love and prayers for your daughter.
Jeanine – oh, your poor daughter! A possible root canal, too? Sounds like she just can’t catch a break. Yes, I’ll say a prayer for her and remember her in days to come. I hope you’ll continue to update us. And Elio? Where is that reader to tell us?
Thank you ladies for your concern for our daughter and for your prayers. That means a lot of our family. She is in God’s hands. I don’t know if you remember this or not, but her husband has also been going through cancer treatments. They have been pastoring a church, but he resigned last Sunday as he just doesn’t have the energy to do what a pastor needs to do. Their last Sunday will be June 28th.
Jeanine – oh no! I agree he can’t do it all but I’m sure he’s heartbroken that he has to give up his church! I’ll bet his congregation will take them under their wings – in God’s hands for sure. PLEASE keep us updated – it just makes me so sad that one family has not escaped all this tragedy. I hope I never complain again.
Jeanine – I can’t find your email – please email ME
Love all your animals! And the quilts are amazing again! Wow!
Oh! Weeds, weeds….and perennial flowers and plants. I dug up my Yucca one year, planted a rose tree. Well, the next year the yucca came back x 3! And bloomed it’s heart out to make me feel guilty (I think)! The rose tree froze out and became a bush! Then the yucca got to looking really nasty, so I dug him up again! Now he has come back again! Right against the concrete step! Can’t win! The sedum have totally overtaken our rocks by the house, they are drowning out the other plants….roundup? My mom had a plant they called ‘never die’. I wonder if it was sedum.
Thanks for the invite!
Joy – I promised myself I would not stress about several areas in the yard this year. I’m hoping the hydrangeas will take over one area that I’m avoiding. When the shop was open it was pretty close to perfect but now who would even see it or care? I love your yucca story!
Thanks for the laugh about the funny/not funny yucca story. Last spring, I tried to cut back and dig out my yucca in a front flower bed. I couldn’t dig very well because of severe knee pain. My son and his family brought me some mulch on Mother’s Day and was going to have lunch with me. When they were helping me put down the mulch, my 11-year-old grandson asked about the hump sticking out of the ground. I told him I was trying to get rid of a yucca. He started digging and I told him he couldn’t dig it out. Everyone but my grandson ended up sitting in the back yard. Later my grandson came to the back holding the big root. I said “you’ve got to be kidding!” My daughter-in-law asked what it was. I told her I had been trying to get rid of a yuca and I told Luke he wouldn’t be able to dig it out. I didn’t see any signs of it last summer or this spring.
Wow the patriotic quilt show is just amazing!! What a talented group of ladies! I especially loved the quilt the couple are holding & assume he’s a Vietnam Veteran & is it a quilt of valor? Beautiful job enhancing this panel! Adorable pictures of your girls. I’m fully convinced that if more people had pets of any kind we would have a much better world. Yesterday while I was at the gym I noticed a elderly gentleman had a picture of a white fluffy dog on his phone & I asked if that was his puppy. It reminded me of my late Bentley. It was amazing to see the transformation in this gentleman. He spent a good 5 min+ telling me how this dog was a rescue from a puppy mill & all about his little Bailey. So I made a new friend at the gym over a picture on a cell phone yesterday. I might add this is a private gym & the owner has 3 rescue dogs as well. It’s an interesting place. We’re expecting more rain today, we’ve had over 6″ of rain & lots of flooding. Everything is so green & pretty now & the weeds are getting away from me!!
Yes, that is a Quilt of Valor presentation. He’s a Viet Nam Vet & was very appreciative of receiving it!!
Also loving all the quilts. In the first picture. Is the mini quilt with the log cabins and crow a Cheri Payne pattern?
The quilt show has been quite stunning. Speaking of the weather, we are getting flooded out here in southern Ohio. We had 7 inches of rain last week and more to come this week. Mow, mow, mow! 😁
Beautiful quilts as always! If anyone knows the pattern for the 8th quilt down I’d love to know (or 9th from the bottom). It looks similar to a 3 yard quilt pattern by Fabric Cafe, but slightly different than the patterns I saw. Thanks!
Ruth – I like that quilt, too. I hope the reader sees this and tells us what pattern it is.
The first pullet photo (she’s straining to look out the window) could be: “Do I really want to go out today?”
Thanks for the quilt show. I’m inspired seeing them all.
Loving the quilt shows and goats. Usually I read your post in the morning but for some reason I’m wide awake at 12:45. I thought the goats were bigger but the photo in the chair gave a better perspective of their size. I don’t know which one is cuter.
