Inside the blog about nothing comes a new club. The name of the club is “We do not care club”. Here are some of mine:

Please feel free to send the “we do not care“ pictures to maryehazel2020@gmail.com. No names please.
Michele’s granddaughter which would be Hank’s “niece”, Maddie came to see the chickens today. She named one of the hens when they were just babies so that hen’s name is Maddie.

That’s a lot of info for one post. Better go back and read it again.
P.S. Does anyone have a good source for MaxiLock thread in Mother Goose color? I have searched for this color online and cannot find it. If anyone knows where I can get it could you answer in comments or email. Thanks so much!

Looking forward to the low volume tutorial.
I love the idea of the “I don’t care club”. So much that bothered me when I was younger just doesn’t seem to be so important anymore. Although vehicles parked every which way makes me a little crazy!
Mary – a reader told me those cars parked over the lines don’t bother her. I wish it didn’t bother me – they belong in my “I do not care” category! Haha!!!!
Hi Mary! I love that low volume charm square quilt! I look forward to the low volume improv quilt tutorial! Little Maddie is so cute! I look forward to those “I don’t care” photos!
Wow so many of us belong to the I don’t care club. I too wish I didn’t care as much when my kids were little but Idiring the summer I always said I don’t care. Great club! Lots of great quilts and flowers. Thank you for your hard work Mary to allow us to have this blog. Your hard work is greatly appreciated.
I could be a charter member of the I Don’t Care Club!!!!!!!
I’d rather sew that chase the dust which will be all there right after I dust. It will be there long after I’m gone. It is so dusty out here and the wind blows so much. OK. Something I’ve made AND finished will hopefully be there long after me.
Usually I don’t remember dreams, but I remember last night’s. There were 4 old ladies putting fake flowers with aluminum foil all over the house, The bannisters, chairs, everywhere. And they had taken all my piles of fabric in the living room and just dumped all in 1 box. That was when I woke up. The flowers bugged me, but the fabric piles did it. Sure glad it was a dream.
I’ve always wondered in dreams are our brain going thru it’s worse cases and we were loosing it? Guess I’m still here and nobody has bothered the piles in the living room. Maybe I’m going mad? Who knows.
I’m still catching up from all the standing at the quilt show. We have 2 men in our guild. One made a quilt of white 2 1/2″ squares with black squares scattered about. It helped to stand back and it was the face of a man. I took a picture which made the whole thing smaller and there was the face of Einstein! I liked it!
Time marches on and here we are. Take care. It’s supposed to be 92 tomorrow. Ick.

Maddie is just adorable! Loved the Florida flowers and of course, the quilts!!! I have a category called “I give up!” For the last 4 years the raccoons have torn up ALL of my flowers I planted in front of the house. They either knock over the planters, dig the flowers out, or just have dirt spread out everywhere! We try not to have any food out at night whether cat food or bird food. I have put out cayenne pepper, ammonia soaked cotton balls, and Irish Spring soap. NOTHING worked. Sigh…….. I really hate raccoons! lol
Sharon – try coyote urine!
Maddie is adorable.
Thanks for the beautiful flower pictures today…we have had hail with every rain. The only thing it has damaged has been flower petals. They will come back, the rain is glorious.
I should make a list of the quilts I want to make. Low volume will be on it. I NEED to use some of my “special” fabric. I still have the first piece of batik our local quilt shop sold! That was in the 80’s! I have a collection of feedsack fabric, many other collections I’ve added to over the years. So much fabric, so little time.
PS…surger thread isn’t great for quilting or piecing. On the surger, it uses 3-5 threads to make a strong seam. It’s great for basting, but I’d be leary using it for quilts that get much use.
I only have used cotton quilting thread for both piecing and quilting, so when I saw the Maxilock I got curious. I have a serger, which I have long ago stopped using. It was great for making clothes, but now my sewing time is devoted to quilting. Thanks for the info, Jo.
Jo – Me, too! I can’t use it fast enough! And really, if you’re just cutting big squares, it goes a long way. I just opened a huge tub of fabric collections from the 90s that I had forgotten about. Big squares, here I come!
Oh My!!!! I love this email! I want to be a member of the We Do Not Care club!
Keeping a clean home, making good meals for my family, caring for a big garden and yard were from my past life. Now I wish I lightened up when my kids were little. Now when my grandkids are here or I’m staying with them, we are busy doing fun things.
I don’t think I’ve thought “I don’t care” but I’ve given plenty of things a good eye roll then moved on because I have something more enjoyable I’d rather do. Now I’ll say “Don’t care!”
Sheryl – I think we’re at that age when such things don’t matter so much. When the shop was open I was on top of every weed! Now I do not care! Haha!!!
Sheryl – consider yourself a charter member of the I DO NOT CARE CLUB! You can be president! Haha!!!!
I think my hubs is the originator of the ‘I don’t care’ club. My reasoning – when I ask what he would like for supper, he ALWAYS replies ‘I don’t care’ which is infuriating because I didn’t know that as an adult I would have to figure out for the rest of my life what WE would be eating for supper. LOL. Actually, he’s a bit better now because one time when I asked, he said ‘I don’t care’ so I walked out of the room, went back to sewing and didn’t make anything. Pretty soon he came in and asked what we were having for supper – and I said ‘nothing, you said you didn’t care – so I decided on nothing.’ At least now he might make a suggestion and/or make the meal – LOL.
While I was writing this, I thought to myself – because of what I wrote above – I can’t be in the I do not care club BUT now that I’ve thought a bit more – I can be in it because I use I don’t care if I never have to go shopping – groceries, clothes, household crap – I do not care!!
Sherry – I get it. I have pretty much quit cooking at night. I can never tell what Rick wants so I have a beer and chips and maybe a frozen dinner. I also ask and get the same answer – yes, I hate cooking and housework! I want to eat supper and get it over with so I can go sew.
Beautiful flowers from Florida. Are those drop purple blossoms iris or orchids?? Inquiring minds want to know.
MaryKaye , I love your Dove in the Window quilt.
I love the picture of Michele’s granddaugh t with the dogs. What fun to see her. Is she Maddie or is the chicken Maddie? Lol
It’s raining again. Afraid this is going to be the year of the mosquito here in SWOhio.I
I don’t care about the uncooperative in my food. Hasn’t killed me in 60 years. Can’t worry about them inn my tea bags!! They’re always coming up with more things to scare us to death!
Micro plastics in my food
Carolyn – Maddie is 5 and last summer when the hens were chicks she picked out one she liked and I told her we’d just call her Maddie, too.
I don’t care about the stuff in my food either – something else will kill me far sooner.
Mary, I have a question re: the maxi lock thread. It is polyester. Do you use it for both piecing and quilting? Just quilting?
Vicki – I use the maxi lock thread in the longarm machine. My Bernina isn’t very fussy – I use a good quality thread but always make sure I match the top and the bobbin.
Search maxi lock thread mother goose on Amazon. It shows up
How cute Maddie is to go check on her chicken. In good company with Hank and Hazel.
Love all the pictures, especially the fairy cactus garden picture. I’ve been eyeing some succulents to add to vintage bowls I own.
I am looking forward to your low volume tutorial as I enlarged the quilt of Debs and I see some green in it which I love the colors of hers. How do you determine a low volume fabric as it looked like a muted green background?
I guess I just figured low volume meant fabrics with white or beige backgrounds so I will enjoy learning your color theory on making one.
I do not care about those who park outside the lines, over the lines, etc.
Linda – Really?? As you know they drive me nuts!!! I wish it didn’t bother me but then I remember not finding a place to park because someone took up two spaces.
Wawak Sewing Supplies has all colors of Maxi Loc. I think it’s currently on sale!
I love the I don’t care club! Need to allow ourselves to be content with less than perfect sometimes.
