Great quilt show thanks to everyone that sent pictures in. We are visiting our son this week in Elko, NV. Our daughter in law had to go out of town for training and we came to look after our 2 yr old granddaughter. Dad’s work is a long drive and day care doesn’t open early enough. So, grandparents to the rescue. We will be keeping her home tomorrow to have a day of fun.
What a nice showing of quilts! I agree that as comments are made it makes me go back & take another good look at the quilts. I loved the use of the fireworks fabric in the flag quilt! I never would have thought to use it there. Just a word of caution on that fabric….it bleeds badly when washed, or at least what I had did! It’s one of the fabric that did so much bleeding in Ron’s quilt of valor quilt. Color catchers to the rescue! Still love that fabric though.
Alice – that’s interesting about that particular fabric – who is the manufacturer?
Mary, I must have gotten rid of that particular piece after it bled so bad. But I found companion fabrics that didn’t present a problem & they are Fabric Traditions dated 1998. I don’t recall seeing any by this manufacturer in yrs, so I’ve had it a “few” years!
What a wonderful variety of quilts! They were all great. I have been stuck on one project, and I think I need a break. It will feel good to complete a couple UFOS before going back.
Thanks , Mary 🥰
As always, great quilts. Why is it we can never get enough of them?
Yesterday was the last day of our quilt show. It is amazing how each person uses colors to make the same quilt. Old patterns, new patterns, original artistic quilts, everything. And I was very tired! Basically standing most of the day. I made it but am not worth much today. Something for everybody. How wonderful. And then all the people, laughter, excitement — such great sounds.
The amazing part is the take-down of all the quilts! Closing at 4:00 is the start of taking down ALL of the quilts and by 5:15 ALL OF THE QUILTS WERE RETURNED TO THE OWNERS AND OUT OF THE BUILDING. You have to see it to believe it!! They’ve had a lot of practice.
Now to return to the regular world with all the new ideas. It’s all a new day. Have fun everybody.

I think the yellow gold quilt is Bread and Butter fabric and design of Betsy Chutchian. I started the quilt at a retreat a couple of years ago and taking to a 3 day retreat this week to work on as well as another quilt.
All of the quilts in the parade today are fabulous. The patriotic quilt with the fireworks was very creative.
I haven’t been sewing much lately between doctor appointments for my husband or myself keeping me busy. I’ve been cutting out for the retreat, it seems cutting takes forever.
I too loved the blue fabric in the flag quilt. Beautiful.
Great quilt show today!!!
Enjoyed the quilts today! A little update on my shoulder. The MRI showed a small tear, which will probably heal on its own given time. I had an injection and will continue physical therapy for a while. I’m so thankful I don’t need surgery!
Colleen – hallelujah! No shoulder surgery – but give it a rest.
What a nice parade of quilts. Love it! Northeast Pennsylvania is receiving a lot of rain too. We have to work fast and enjoy the sun when it appears. Thank you for sharing.
Fun quilt show today. Thanks to all for sharing.
The hottest news from my corner of Wyoming is the rain…glorious rain.
I have a small pond in the back pasture from all the rain! Love it.
Wow! Loved the quilt show this morning! So many interesting ones – that “kaleidoscope” quilt is amazing! The “bee with flowers and bear claw” is very sweet. They’re all just great. Thanks everyone for sharing. I’d love to know more about the yellow and blue one as well. So simple but the on-point configuration makes it special. And the colors. It’s a nice day here in MA. Poured yesterday – hello to my neighbors in NH! Got to get plants in the ground this week, it’s just been too rainy or cold to put those poor little tomato plants in until now. Hope we have a mild few days so they can get established. Jan in MA
Hi jan, the bears paw is mine, made for great niece in Australia, Billie has just turned 21, glad you liked it!
That was a fun show of quilts – and inspirational! Thanks for sharing!
Dreary here today, raining – so glad I got a lot done outside over the last 2 days. I need to run some errands, but maybe it’s time to go to my sewing room? Hmmmm….
Beautiful quilts today. So much inspiration. You must love to see your quilt patterns made by others! Rain, rain, rain. That has been our spring here in NH.
Ginger – yes, it is the ultimate compliment!!!
Love the quilts today, great job everyone!
We had buckets of rain yesterday and most of Spring, hoping that is the last of it here in NH for a little while at least!
Beautiful color placement in the quilt with all the diamonds with the creme background. I love it. Thanks for a great quilt show. I wish you could send the rain my way. We are getting dry.
Yes great quilts! Loved the show this morning!
We have had rain too. Yesterday it was nice early then rain then nice again. No storms! Windy today. But then long-range forecast is for heat! I am headed tomorrow to Schuylar, NE for a retreat for 4 days. Staying at the St Benedictine which is a fabulous place to stay. I won’t worry about storms staying there.
Great show of quilts. I love that everyone finds something to say about a particular quilt. It makes you go back and take a closer look as to the construction or the colors of the quilts. Great job everyone.
Rita – me, too! The comments make me think about the quilt possibly in a new way through someone else eyes and perspective.
Fabulous array of quilts this morning! Please, could the maker of the quilt with the yellow/gold background share fabric info? It is a wonderful color. Thanks, Suzanne
Suzanne – that was Jay Johnson’s quilt. I hope it’s not a misrepresentation of color through the camera – I love the shade of yellow!
Would you call that cheddar? Or is it not dark enough?
Dale – no, that’s not cheddar. Cheddar is much deeper in color.
Thanks, Mary! I keep coming back to this post to look at that quilt. : )
Agree with what you said about cheddar color… darker, very deep; sometimes overrpowers. I’ve been searching for a perfect vintage-looking yellowish-goldish-“cheddar” and still have not found exactly what I want. I think it’s time to practice “I don’t care” and “that’s good enough” so I can finish my project. LOL
Lovely quilts! I thought the use of the exploding star fabric in the flag quilt was gorgeous 🤩
what a variety of lovely quilts !~~~
Lovely quilt show!
I loved all of them. Such eye candy! 😍
Hi Mary, great photos today! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
