Yes, it was calm all day – I checked on Mortie’s whereabouts throughout the day to make sure she hadn’t wandered outside. Honestly, yesterday was one of the worst days of my life. I did tell Rick I would never get in that loader again – never! Of course he doesn’t think it’s a big deal to work out of a loader but I was so scared and screaming which he didn’t even hear!
Well, anyway today was calm – I went to the chiropractor and I’m thinking of starting acupuncture next week.
I did finish quilting this chair cover.

Remember the cute fabric that Marie and Kirby sent me? Here are the two small quilts I made with 1/2 yd. of each background fabric.

Thanks for reading!

If Shirley Jackson is right and there is life again after death, I hope to come back as one of your dogs. They have the prettiest quilts to sleep on while lounging on comfy chairs! Lol! The quilts were beautiful today and I laughed so hard at the jokes today. Thanks, Mary!
I did chuckle at the jokes today!!
Mary, you have the best design bones. Everything you put together…works.
The quilt “parade” was fun. Thanks to all.
One of our High School has started a sewing club. I was asked to help. I’m over the moon happy to help and work with young folks again. I must say, high school is not what it use to be. A fun moment. I found a wooden spool of thread being used. I took it and replaced with a plastic spool. I told them that thread was very old and would result in failed seams. They ask about how old was it. I told them sometime in the 1950-1960’s. They responded “the nineteen hundreds!” 😵💫
These kids are in high school. Most were born around 2010!!! I have a lot to learn.
Jo – you are well suited for this job! I hope the girls take it seriously – it might the start of a lifetime hobby!
Jo, so glad you are back teaching high schoolers! They are lucky to have you. Enjoy the time.
I’m glad you and Mortie are ok – and your cartoon is definitely about her.
Such beautiful quilts today! I love to start my morning with quilty eye candy.
Whew so happy you and Mortie are safe after that wild day! Cats seem sensible, but sometimes….
Of course, she could have been chased up there, too. Lucky girl to be rescued:)
I had a dollar bill ring when I was young. I wish I knew what happened to it. I bought our grandson a book on how to fold dollar bills, but it was really hard–the adults couldn’t do it either!/ Warming up here today. I am hemming curtains for a new baby due in April, picking up a donation for Honor Flight quilts, and hopefully working on my Get R Done quilt soon.
Take care, Mary and let us know how the acupuncture goes. A good friend who is a nurse had it and it worked. My husband’s PT suggested dry needling. He doesn’t jump into things so it might be 2030!!!
Diane – I really appreciate hearing about others who had acupuncture . Our weather has changed drastically this morning and my shoulders are really aching in response. Pain pills don’t even touch it.
Oh, Mary, I get it. He is in pain most of the time. The Dr put him back on Gabapentin. Not sure of spelling and Squeaky is sleeping on my lap🙀😹. I am really pushing the dry needling IF insurance will cover—hope.
Can’t wait to see your Bit Coin.
I too really liked Keeper’s chair quilt. Actually, I like it better than Bit Coin.
I am home from retreat, but the sewing stuff has not made it downstairs yet. I have lots to do down there but I have to go get some groceries. I am home for a week–LOL
Fran – I don’t know how you do it! Packing stuff up and going away from home every week – you’ve got more energy than me for sure!
Fran
Where do you live? I’d love to go on just some of your retreats. I’m in Texas. I’m guessing you are up North?
Sherry
Sherry – I believe Fran lives in Iowa – but youve traveled to Iowa before for a quilt retreat, if I recall. Ha!
I’m glad the posts explained the dollar item was origami…I at first thought it a well-matched shirt! Haha. Clever! Great assortment of quilts! I had dry needling on a shoulder and felt it helped….is that the same as acupuncture? Good girl Mortie! Behave yourself!
Hi Mary! We love what you’ve done with the cat fabric! You have quite a talent for bringing fabrics together! Now Kirby wants to know where her cute quilts are!!! We’re so glad of yours and Morties happy ending, such a frightening day!! Keepers chair quilt is wonderful, a perfect touch of spring!!
Marie – I really like the fabric you sent and love piecing but it could be awhile till they’re quilted. Tell Kirby hi from the farm!
Lucky Keeper! I love the new cover for his chair. You do more with a little bit of fabric than anyone i know. You must stay up pretty late at night to get done all you do. Glad Mortie is behaving better today. That was an awful and dangerous experience yesterday getting her down, and perhaps she learned her lesson?
Pat – we are quite sure something chased her up that tree – she never even goes to that side of our yard!
The jokes were hilarious! I have central vac and you have to plug the hose in to make sure that the vacuum is running before you turn on the beater bar or you have the same problem! And yes, Mortie was either curious or something spooked him!
Love all the quilts! Your chair quilt is really colorful and pretty!
By the way, I don’t. Like loader bucket rides either!
Joy -something definitely spooked her – we’ve even considered an owl.
Great quilts today. Every quilt is outstanding. And who ever figured how to fold dollar bills – very artistic. It’s getting me down to have a plastic sleeve on my hand preventing m from injuring myself after surgery. Luckily it won’t last long.
Our two days of warmth are at an end and back to winter.
Have a great day everyone.
Janet – don’t let it get you down! You’ll heal faster if you just accept it
will your acupuncture be as a first time patient ?? I just would not know where to begin with the praise for my acupuncturist. I hope yours will be so successful. Does Rick have hearing aids ?? We have some issues with “someone” forgetting to put his in. Just as you were experiencing some real danger because he could not hear you can count yourself lucky that there was finally a way to get his attention.
For some reason we have been aware of several folks who sort of act like it is no big deal to be losing ones hearing and having the means to do something about it but they are sitting on the charger. !!
Brenda – haha! The hearing aids are an issue here. Brenda – didn’t you get a delivery last Monday??
After yesterday’s wild ordeal, I am so glad Mortie decided to take it easy today. She is like chasing after a toddler. I hope you have a low key weekend. Thanks for all the eye candy today, gorgeous projects.
Such great quilts today. Keeper will love his pretty new chair cover. Barbara, your bitcoin quilt is beautiful. I’ve been wanting to make that one…..some day! So glad Mortie was good today..maybe lesson learned. And I’m so glad you survived your crazy adventure and got some rest today.
What a cheerful new quilt for Keeper’s chair! I love the colors! I also really like the ‘star’ quilt you made from a fabric gift. You have such a knack for combining colors! I remember you working on a Bitcoin quilt, but I don’t remember if you finished it. I spent 3 days this week crawling around on the floor pin-basting two quilts. Let me tell you, I am too old and definitely too out of shape for that business! Glad you had a peaceful day today. Have a great weekend!
Candy -no, I did not finish Bitcoin but after seeing hers I’m going to dig it out.
Thank God for a quiet relaxing day.
Very happy sweet Mortie stayed home and out of trouble. Beautiful quilt parade and the jokes are great.
Love the chair quilts. I need to make one for my dog. I’ll have see if I kept a picture of the other strip quilt you did.
I got Garden Club quilts in the mail today. It’s on EBAY for a steal price. It’s in perfect shape and didn’t realize all the patterns were in there. Beautiful.
Love the photos of the dollar bills are made up. I’ve never seen those before … they were always just a bow tie.
Stay happy….enjoy for posts.
Great photos today – and glad it was a quiet day!
Thanks for the laughs too – I needed that! I got home from my “very large quartet” rehearsal to find that the furnace isn’t running right. luckily I have alternatives to get through for a while. I’ll be calling the furnace folks first thing in the morning – and of course it’s the weekend… but it could be worse!
Sounds like a good time to take the space heater to the sewing room and stay there! 🙂
Mary I would have been terrified in the loader as well. Glad today was calm for you. I enjoyed seeing all the quilts and have a laugh at the jokes.
Thanks again for this wonderful blog.
Mary, I hope you took time today to recuperate from your wild ride into the pine tree yesterday. =]
Thank you for including the funny jokes and cartoon in today’s post. My DH has had 2 hard days health-wise so I shared them with him as he headed off to bed. They gave him some good laughs to end his day. 🙂 Isn’t it a blessing the Lord gives us a few hours to rest in the midst of our hard days!
