A Slow Day, 6-11-26

Rain in the night – Hazel doesn’t like that so my sleep is spotty and then I slept too late. Becky stopped this afternoon and tonight the ballgame had my full attention once again. The Fever won but it wasn’t pretty! Ugh – games like that make me so nervous.

Just a quick note about cards to Marsha – my friend is MAREEN – not Maureen. Just need to clarify that.

Doesn’t this sound delicious?

Such beautiful quilts. I’m really loving the patriotic parade of quilts. Thank you Mary for sharing all of these.
My card to Marsha was mailed today.

I am so hoping that there are no more! We’ll see. I don’t mind the possums or squirrels so much…..

This Patriotic Parade of quilts has been absolutely fantastic!! Thank you all for sharing. Thank you, Mary, for posting. The other great quilts mixed in are inspiring, too. The second and third pictures today caught my eye, as well as several of the Patriotic creations.
Whoever recommended “The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion” last year, thank you. I just finished the fifth journal yesterday and am enjoying the eclectic mix of characters around Emma.
Yes, Mary, I will try to figure out the vintage clothespin butterfly pattern. You have such confidence in my ability to do so. How could I not, at least, try. 🙂

Jan, I recommended those journals. You are welcome. I love them, and I am so glad you do, too. I had a really good summer last year reading them.

Thanks for all you do, Mary.

I try to click the ads and send the cards in gratitude.

Lynn – thank you for being faithful about clicking ads and especially about sending cards! It’s become an important part of my blog and I couldn’t do it without my readers help! I hope both the Lovelaces and Marsha feel the love. Kindness matters.

Thanks for the recipe. Sounds really good. Did you know that our mayo is called Best Foods and yours is Hellmans? They are the same mayo, though.
Sunny morning today. Makes me want to plant things. Still working on the garden because it has been so cold yet, but I do have some carrots for the salad.

    Great photos of beautiful quilts!

I am back from retreat. Made some headway on a couple of quilts while there. The food was outstanding! Haircut today in the city with errands and lunch with a couple of friends. 2 days at home and another retreat a little closer to home. I would like some long arm time but it looks doubtful!

That recipe sounds very good. If I make it my husband will be shocked—we haven’t made pasta salads for 20 years. Beautiful quilts—I love that first one!

That Fever game was wild! Reminded me of the Spurs meltdown rhe night before. Glad they pulled it out. Love the patriotic parade you’re hosting!

I wonder why Hazel doesn’t like rain? It sounds soothing to me.
Today I enjoyed a long phone call with my sister in Michigan and then we enjoyed Panda Express for my birthday dinner 😋. Saturday my daughter is coming over for a visit, looking forward to it!
We caught nemesis #5 ( raccoon 🦝) and he was delivered to a lake area and ran off into the woods. First he lunged at cage and growled when Darrell went to pick it up. Scared me! I really hope he’s the last one!
I am sending my cards off tomorrow 😻

Pamela, I’ve learned from my past (I grew up in MN and visited often) that where there is one racoon- there are four more!

Martha – you are absolutely right – we said the same thing and if they stay in the grove, that’s fine but I wish Hazel couldn’t sniff them out.

Pamela – I probably should get my live trap out because I know you’re right – there are more in the grove.
