The plants got to the fair after all because Becky came to dog sit. Harley, a chocolate lab, arrived at the same time Becky did and after teaching her to use the dog door, I took Telly with me to the fair. Becky also brought me some hostas to plant.
When I got back I wanted to take a picture of me with all the dogs but that’s next to impossible. Telly and Rox wouldn’t even get near this group of retrievers! So here’s a series of pictures of me with a black, yellow, chocolate lab and a golden retriever.
You have the best, dog-gone place to have visitors to enjoy your accommodations. The dogs seemed well-behaved and I’m sure look forward to being included in “the pack.” Hope your flowers were a hit at the fair. Thank goodness for good friends who help you out in a pinch.
If I scroll down real fast, it’s almost a video of you trying to take a photo of the big dogs. Love the bottom photo, love the expressions on your face and the golden retriever. Hey, did Becky serenade the dogs?
LOL!!! Your face is a study in determination to ‘get these kids to cooperate’!!! What a kick. Thoroughly enjoyed them. And Bless Becky’s heart… a sweet sister who just knew you HAD to get those flowers to the fair!!!
All this and Rick retiring? Bless You. The first week of my husband’s retirement he decided to rearrange my spices and pantry to “make it more efficient” That is when I said, “I will be right back AFTER I rearrange your basement since I have been thinking about how MORE efficient it can be” I think he got my drift and he asked if he could arrange my pantry again to MY liking and I said no and I won’t do yours. Nip it in the bud, Mary, nip it in the bud.
Angie – I am giggling out loud! I will Nip It In The Bud for sure and every time I do I will think of you!
What great pictures:) Lots of advice about retirement; you’ll work it out.
Love the labs, we have had a chocolate, who now at Rainbow Ridge. We adopted a white lab and found out they are called English White, which looks like the one you called yellow lab in your pictures. Ours is now 11 years old, named KC, she is dear to us.!

Great pictures, Mary. I especially like the one of the Golden on the bench with you. Those Goldens just can’t be close enough to their people–love them.
I love seeing all 4 of those beautiful big dogs. Looks like they are best of friends. I have a yellow lab. His name is Chevy. Best boy ever!
I love your updates and photos, Mary. I miss the Goat Gazette so this satisfies that need. Thanks so much!
They are like a group of wild pre-schoolers!
Good to hear ……you were able to get your blooms to the fair……
Enjoyed seeing all the dogs there with you today.
Have a good weekend, Mary!!
Mary, looks like stacking marbles. Impossible!!! LP in omaha
Love the pictures of you and the dogs! You can tell they are happy !
How wonderful that you went to the fair. Hope your plant bloomed on time for the judges to see!
The Golden must know how to play “king of the mountain” with so much determination to sit beside you.
Love your place and your lifestyle, Mary.
All those pictures, makes me wonder who is in charge? (I think I know.) Fun pictures. Best of luck at the fair; I hope you get a ribbon. Carry on. Sunday will come soon.
Getting all those dogs together is like herding cats! Good luck at the fair.
That could be a picture of our Jackie, Cody, Bringer and Rusty. We love labs!
