Every now and then I have to stop and post pictures that I’ve received and just haven’t shown you.
Reader photos:

A reader sent me a clip about a cat in a tree which I enjoyed so much and tried to find it again to show Rick. I think it was from Sue? Can you direct me to that link again?

Hello all, I’m late to the party as usual, but had to tell everyone thank you for the garden pictures! I’ve enjoyed them immensely, especially when I look out my window at my faded lilies that refuse to give up. Poor things.
Mary, thank you so much for the scrappy star block picture! I was given another bag of cast-offs for LWR and had no idea how the squares and rectangles with the HST’s were supposed to be assembled…Same block! Yippee!
DH is having lawn mower envy over your new Toro and enjoyed the pix of Clyde, too. Just what is Hazel plotting? Surely nothing naughty! Kris
Cool! One of the ads on my laptop just now was for Breck’s–spring bulbs and other colorful blooms.
I don’t mind having those ads pop up at all! Never too early to get your order in! Kris
I love all the photo’s today. The flowers are beautiful and the quilts look great! I couldn’t get comments yesterday either but happy they are back today. Mary, I love your new mower. Clyde was a beauty too!
Love your new mower and enjoyed all the pictures. We are traveling west with our camper toward lower humidity. I am eager to get settled in our campsite, so I can work on my dress shirt project.
I hope Rick is progressing well.
Thanks, Mary 🥰
late late here but trying to check in. your new mower looks so pristine you may not want to get grass on it. ha! all the quilts are fantastic as always. just seeing all the pictures lets me enjoy through others. i think all of us will stumble along to get to comments. yes, security causes so many problems for so many. after being a victim of a massive scam earlier this year, i jump through a gazillion hoops to do anything online. but since i am pretty much home-bound, i need to be able to go on-line to connect with like-minded people, like all of you. clicking on all the ads is such a small easy thing to do to help you keep the blog going. i’m off to bed now. patti in florida
Beautiful flowers today and your new mower looks like a blast to use. You’re going to have so much fun!
Love so many of the quilts today. Sure wish I knew who made them so that I could give a big shout out.
Monsoon made an appearance finally. We got almost a half inch of rain, our first since April. Boy it felt good at the time. Now it’s 110 and humid as all get out. Can’t win for losing! Hahahaha
Love all the quilt and flower pictures! Mary I can’t tell if you were more excited about the new mower or Clyde. I always close the ads. I know how important the revenue is for the blog.
As always, I enjoy all the photos. I especially like the lady liberty doll. So cute.
The blog seems to work out the quirks in its own as the day goes on. We’d sure miss you, and the other friends we’ve come to know through your blog, if you didn’t send anything for a few days. Hopefully you will hang in there.
Connie, the lady Liberty doll I purchased a couple weeks ago at a new primitive shop that opened near our camp. They have two young girls who make crafty items for the shop owners to sell in addition to wool and cottons. I liked their work, so I went back to get another one similar and it had already sold. I use to take time to make dolls like that but now I want to support young girls trying to make some money and put my time into something I would rather make. I don’t want to wish summer away but I am excited to see what will be for sale this fall. Thanks again.
So many nice pictures of quilts and flowers to see and I appreciate Mary giving us this beauty and feeling of us all being together.
Kathy, Thanks for the info on the liberty doll. Like you, I’ve made a couple dolls years ago and realized how much work was involved. The maker of the doll did such a beautiful job with all the details. So much work put into it. Hopefully you’ll post pictures of your fall purchases. I’d love to see what the girls come up with. Very talented!
Connie R – oh, don’t worry, I’ll hang in there – I was just wondering if WordPress could get straightened out if I avoided posting for a few days but nobody has that answer.
Aren’t computers wonderful (haha). I have a love/hate relationship with them as well as my phone.
Thanks for not giving up.
Hi Mary – that new mower is pretty awesome!
I see your Night Blooming Cereus is about to Pop. MIne opened Saturday night…I should have looked at it when I got home from a wedding dance about midnight, but forgot! I got to enjoy it in the morning for awhile and get a picture, but I could tell it was starting to droop already. Such a wonder…….I see yours has a few more buds, too. So does mine, although last year, I think they dried up before they materialized. Here’s hoping…….Such an amazing bloom on a not so glamorous plant. Love it! Thanks!
Rosemary – you described it perfectly – all year I look at that homely plant just for the pleasure of a very short lived bloom!!!
I have to click “read in blog” to get the comments too. But, there are lots of ads to click too.
The flowers are beautiful. My neighbor ha a zero turn mower like your new one. He does my front and one side yard. It takes him about 10 minutes to do my area. It would take me 3-4 hours to do it. You’ll have so much fun, you will mow all the borrow pits on your road. Take some extra gas.
After the news reports on the flooding, I have to check the map to make sure you’re ok. It’s scary.
Hazel does have a sweet face!!
Jo – I have a smaller version just like my new mower so I’m very familiar – I just wanted a backup because mowing is so important to me. I will still use the smaller mower to trim – the worst thing about zero turn are the holes I put in my grass when I turn too sharp!
Everything close to us is just fine – we’re the luckiest people in the state of Iow right now!
However you’re finding the ads, I’m grateful. There’s not much revenue coming from the ads right now so I think most readers won’t trouble themselves to go online to read. They just want to click on their email and be done.
Mary’s blog is through WordPress. Today for the first time, I could not get the comments either. Did a bunch of clicking all over the page and then there was a popup from WorldPress regarding signing up. OK, I signed up again? There was a box to select when/how often you want to receive the blog; AND “Do you wanta to see the comments? Yep, sure do. These problems are NOT Mary’s but that of WordPress is trying to make their services more secure. And in the long run, this is good for us. So, after signing up again with WordPress, now I get Mary’s blog AND comments with no problems.
Mary, you can’t fix this for others – readers have to figure it out as everyone’s computer is set up differently depending on the browser and the operating systems. Just keep clicking on anything about WordPress.
Linda – thank you so much!! WordPress has no consideration for their customers , making it hard for both the reader and me. This blog is fun – I love it – but honestly it gets very discouraging, doesn’t it? You’re very informed which most of us aren’t and I just want to make it simple for everyone. I wonder if I took a week or two completely without posting if everything would reset itself. What do you think?
Probably not because It’s not you or what you are doing. It’s WordPress and we just all need to figure out how to get it to work on our oown machines. This time (on my laptop) there was just a little line that said “add a comment”. I click on that and there they are. I just have to scroll to the beginning of the comments. On my desktop this morning, the newest comments are added at the top! Keep clicking and messing around – you all will find how to get to the comments. Eventually, hopefully, WordPress will figure it all out and get us all updated. Security is becoming more and more of an issue. I have other blogs through WordPress – otherwise I’m not all that smart with puters. For the most part, they are usually a big pain in my side and a big time sucker! Right now I’m ready to drop kick my printer into the next county!
The mower looks BIG!!!
Love all the flowers and quilts as always. Your readers are very talented.
Loved seeing the growth of the corn. Here in Ohio we must put it in later due to spring rains.
My heart is with my grandson, Aidan, as he goes through the Crucible at Marine basic boot camp tonight. Please say a prayer for him. It’s make it or break it time.
I tried that earlier (“read the blog”) but still there was no place to comment. I just clicked on the title again, and this time “Leave a Reply” showed up! Go figure! Others must be having problems as well since there is only one comment besides mine.
Enjoyed all the pictures. We had .25″ of rain overnight……not much, but better than getting 8-10″ or storms. The weather has been crazy this year.
Mary, I hope this problem corrects itself!
Yes, Carolyn…Me too. I tried it last night though and nothing. Today it worked???
Love all the pretty yard and flower photos. Also the quilts, animals and the brand new lawn mower. Fun!!
I am not the Sue that sent the video link. Sorry, Mary. HOpe you find it again. Was it a You Tube one? Maybe you could search it.
Well, I got into the comment page by hitting “read in blog”
So it’s all good.
Carolyn
