Before I post the Christmas pictures I want to continue with Marie’s Laura Heine collage of the steer.

And animal action from the farm house:

We had three deaths in our community today – 3 men – one each in their 40s, 50s and 60s. So sad. Two Tom’s and a Jon. None of the deaths are related in any way but it’s a blow to a small community for sure.

So sorry for your loss of the local men in Garner. A very sad time.
Loved all the photos and especially your kitty photos. How many cats do you have? And what are there names? I always have someone wanting to give me a cat, because I have a ranch and they think I have plenty of room. I have taken in so many rescues,I have a hard time saying no, but I can’t take anymore. These keep me busy just keeping up with them. So sorry to hear about your little towns loss. Seems it always happens around a holiday or birthday. So makes it especially hard. Thanks for your letters everyday! I know it’s not easy! But always a bright email to open up.
So sorry to hear about the loss of so many men in your small town. This time of year it is especially hard. Thanks so much to everyone for sharing their great Christmas decorations. I just started today. Seeing all the great ideas makes me want to finish my decorating. I love all the plaid containers. Sunflower you sure had lots of snow to move. The owls are hooting tonight. It’s one of my favorite sounds. It’s so peaceful. Have a great night everyone.
Love the Raggy Cathedral Windows. Reading about your snow falls and very cold temperatures when here we are sweltering through 35 degrees celsius (95 fahrenheit) – hard to imagine. I live in a small rural community in Victoria Australia. Love all your pictures and comments, thanks for sharing Mary. Cheers Ros.
Ros – it’s always so fun for me to think about the other side of the world! Thanks for checking in with all of us!
I enjoyed every photo—seeing Marie C’s progress photos was fun. I’m intrigued about this process.
Really sad to lose so many in your community at once. Prayers for the families and all of you.
Beautiful decorations. Mine will be very sparce this year. Am counting on my youngest granddaughter. She did Thanksgiving hope she has time to put out some for me. Has a 3 year old and works on a farm so we will see. Love her so much.
Brenda Ks – why is it that you aren’t able to do your own decorating? Are you in poor health?
Great photos today – just like most days!! Thank you for sharing them!
I am SO very sorry for the losses in your community – what a blow for all of you, especially at Christmas. Our rural community would be devastated as I’m sure yours is… many prayers for all.
I got a kick out of the leather drawer pulls – unique as well as functional! “Make-do” things can be just right oftentimes!
I may start to put up my new pre-lit tree today or tomorrow – not sure how much other decorating I might do. Mother Nature decorated our area with snow very early Tuesday and it looks so pretty! I’m making a couple of mug rugs for our chorus raffle; I’m using musical fabric and will put a mug and hot cocoa packets with them. Hopefully they’ll go well – but I know that I HAVE to take homemade caramels too or I’ll not hear the end of it.
So sorry for the community loss of three men. How devastating! Prayers for their families and friends.
My decorations are not out as I was dealing with termite treatment, then a broken pipe last week. Furniture that needed to be moved hasn’t all been put back yet. Next week when my children can help put things back in order I’ll get serious about decorating. Even then, it will be half of what I have done in the past. Christmas music is playing and I’ll watch some of my favorite movies. I enjoyed the decorations in homes on today’s post. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
Jan
Thank you for the beautiful Christmas home decor show. It helped inspire me to start today. We got some greens cut yesterday, so on to wreath making. I have some small quilts to get out of storage and get my new wall quilt quilted! Whew! I move so much slower these days.
Sorry about your town’s loss, Mary. My mother passed in Dec., and I could not celebrate that year.
Sue – this will be a tough year for Garner.
Love all the Christmas decoration photos! Such fun 🥰
So sorry to hear about the 3 deaths in your community- so sad 😪
Mortie is such a cutie pie!
Cold here with snow – it really helps me get in thr Christmas spirit!
I enjoyed the beautiful Christmas pictures. I do very little as no family will be here for Christmas, but we are okay with that. Mortie is just the cutest cat, and so photogenic. Love seeing her each day. It was -3* here this morning, but is suppose to get to 32* tomorrow! Have a great day, and stay warm if you are in the upper states.
What a wonderful show — from the Christmas decorations to the furry friends! Love it!
Wow, what a show. I loved all the decorations, got a few ideas to try. I’m sorry for the family of the deceased. It’s a tough time of year, but anytime is tough. I’m going thrift store shopping with my grandson ( he’s 27 yrs old) but loves going. It’s nice to share something with the younger generation.
Mary, do we have any birthday recommendations or Xmas cards that we can send out.
Deb – I wish someone would suggest a person- maybe we should just send Christmas cards to our girls in the past year – what do you think? It’s a good time to brighten their days!
Oh my goodness, I sure enjoyed that tour of Christmas decor. Giving me incentive to at least get my tree out of the box!
Sew group canceled today due to below 0 temps and most are too busy prepping for Christmas. I only have 3 quilts to bind and would have been working on those, but I needed the time at home so hopefully things will get done today. At least I have no snow to shovel as cleared my deck yesterday. I am grateful for service that does my driveway and walk way–took me two attempts just to clear my deck and get a path to bird feeders. And rest afterwards!
As someone who lives in a small community, I understand how devastating it would be to lose three of your “family “. So sad.
Love all the Christmas decorations. Especially the quilts. Thanks, everyone, for sharing.
Minus 2 degrees here this morning. Winter has arrived before schedule!
What a wonderful Christmas tour of homes!
Thank you, Marie C, for the work in progress pictures of your steer quilt.
Thanks, Mary, for posting all the lovely Xmas photos. You’re the best!
What a sad blow to the community and those families, especially near Christmas.
All the displays took a lot of work, but they are worth it! I’m so fond of this time of year, but my husband is “Clark Griswold,” who always wants tons of decorating, which he mostly does. I am so fond of it, too, but dread putting it all away and hauling it up to the attic.
Thanks for sharing all the pictures!
Boy that’s tough to a small community losing 3 local young men. It will be a hard holiday for many affected.
Good news though to learn of Marie’s baby arrival – what a relief. And good morning to Sunflower in Michigan! So nice to see you!
Love seeing all the decorations you’ve all shared. I’m still working on mine as I think I’m slower than ever this year. It makes me wish I made a few red and white quilts. Too many ideas and not enough time.
I’m so sorry the deaths of these men happened and especially now. Loved the Christmas pictures, and of course the cats. Stay warm.
I’m so sorry for your community Mary. Sad indeed. Love seeing the Christmas decorations. I haven’t started putting out mine. The longer I wait, the less I’ll decorate. Love seeing all of your cats enjoying themselves in your home. i couldn’t sleep last night because I was thinking of a quilt that I. would like to make. And I have so many in various stages of completion. I just love the process of making the blocks.
Hi Mary, sad news for your community, they were all young. The dresden plates were interesting, is someone making them, or a lucky find?Yours ink is very large Mary, perfect for Hazel! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
Lovely photos of Christmas decoration Mary, , hopefully I will put some up this weekend. Sad news for your community, take care.
Some great pictures of Christmas decorations. Some of mine are out but I won’t do as much this year and I truly enjoy cutting back and only put out really special decorations. But we’ll see in a couple weeks if I cave and add more. Mary, I love your drawer pulls on your kitchen cabinets. It seems like Morty thinks all pictures need to have her in it. Luckily, she sure is cute.
Janet – the leather pulls on my cupboards were installed in the 70’s when the owners were broke and couldn’t afford to buy pulls. And I’d never dream of replacing them – too special.
Thanks for sharing steer photos. So many pretty Christmas decorations. It is a sad day in our community prayers to the families.
Sure enjoyed the Christmas pictures, They never get old. I’m just getting started with my decorating. All of the kitties look so content. That would be a shock to a small community to lose 3 people in one day.
Cindy – yes, all men were well known and liked! Christmas seems to make it feel even worse.
