All American Cats #199

If you want the whole pattern, send $5 and SASE.
Here is what I made:

The pattern was hard to read so I’m posting it again. The original pattern is not printed very dark which is unfortunate so please enlarge or order the complete pattern.
One reader was filling out her order and then turned around to see this on her wall. Haha!

From ROBBIE in MI

And now my leg – it’s great tonight! I took off the bandages that just kept it draining so look at it now – my ugly leg included. 🤨

It’s great to be back!!

Similar – looks like the same construction but less scrappy – https://www.etsy.com/listing/1300794281/digital-pdf-quilt-block-patternamerican?ls=r&ref=landingpage_similar_listing_bot-5&dd=1&content_source=e6273034fe89b5937e11ff4e0d8cfd94%253ALT2002754de37919172ff98d4ee3b66c5ebb52e5d6&logging_key=e6273034fe89b5937e11ff4e0d8cfd94%3ALT2002754de37919172ff98d4ee3b66c5ebb52e5d6&listing_id=1300794281&listing_slug=digital-pdf-quilt-block-patternamerican
I think you will have to copy and paste. Sherry W.
Mary, I’m so sorry to hear of your beloved pet. They certainly become an important part of our lives.
Mary E – that is my star flag, but unfortunately I don’t know the original maker. My friend in NC sent me the sizes and placements and said “you have to make this”. I’d be happy to share if you give them my email or I can send it to you.
It was a gorgeous day here. Mid 70s and beautiful blue sky. I had lunch with a high school friend. It was nice. Have a great rest of your day all!
Teresa – my cousin is the one who just loves it but she doesn’t sew and her mom volunteered so I’m trying to find the pattern for her. I guess you can send it to me – I wonder if I did a search if I could find it for her. How old is your quilt?
In order: 1. THANK YOU for re-posting the pattern. I am steeped in R/W/B fabric right now and this adorable patriotic kitty can easily be made by what I’m trimming. Tried everything I could think of to read it from yesterday’s post. 2. I have a couple friends + my cousins (in her 80’s) who breeds them tell me as cute, and entertaining, and adorable as they look ALL is off-set by their capacity to create mayhem and mischief. I point out, that doesn’t stop them from having their goats.
Love, love, love all the photos today. Your raised beds give me hope I can grown some herbs that way. Lastly, the farm shot is so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes. THAT is what I miss most about life in Iowa. No place I’ve ever been, and I’ve traveled a LOT, here and abroad, that has that color blue skies.
Marlene – Yes! These two can get in a lot of trouble with just about anything but I just love them to pieces. I sit down there in a lawn chair with my IPad – the minute they see me by the house or hear my voice, they “yell” at me!
It’s GREAT to have you back!!!! I really missed hearing from you each day!!
Thank you for sharing the pattern. It’s a “cutie”!
wonderful—-
Loved the quilt show today and all the wonderful messages of what is happening in each person’s world! Today we are going to Minneopa State Park near Mankato to see Minneopa Falls and have a picnic at the Pavillion! Our Granddaughter is spending today with us so we will be going shortly! Sandwiches made, and vegetables are all bagged up as well! Should be a nice outing. All our chores here are done, lawn mowed etc so dear Larry will enjoy getting away too! Not many more times will our granddaughter want to spend time with us..they sorta outgrow us for a while. I am certain I am forgetting to mention something, I will think of it later. I will send you a photo of the falls.
Cynthia – ooh, sounds like such a fun day for you. I know all about kids outgrowing the adults that love them – I know some kids who have gotten older and I miss them so much. I’ve never visited that park and falls. Send pictures
Mary sorry for your loss of your dear cat, Jack. They are family to us, aren’t they?
Thank you for the clearer instructions for the patriotic cat pattern. I, too, was using a magnifying glass, without much help. I appreciate it.
I have a patriotic quilt on the long arm this morning. Need it finished soon.
Thanks for all you do to keep us entertained with our morning coffee.
I was so tickled to hear of Marsha receiving 128 cards. It is such a nice and easy way to spread kindness.
Deb – I’ll bet Marsha has gotten more cards since the 128.
The goat was “just smelling the roses, er hydragrangeous”. Ha ha Not? That’s what came to my mind.
It’s sew day here at my house and I have people coming. I finished my quilt on the long arm yesterday so I can work on some piecing (when not running my mouth).
It’s a glorious morning!
It’s great to have you back! The picture of the dogs in sweaters is so sweet!
I enjoyed all the nice photos this morning with my coffee. And thank you Mary for taking time to give us clearer photos of the cat wall hanging. I was looking around for a magnifying glass thinking my site was worsening. The day will come soon enough so hoped it wasn’t here yet!
I’m enjoying all the pictures, even your healing leg. Glad you’re back!
Glad you are back! Your leg looks like it’s healing nicely and your farm is beautiful! I grew up on a farm, but live in a city now, so I like to drive around and see all the farms in my area. Have a nice day, Mary!
Made my morning with all the animals and quilts! 😃 They are all so precious!!!! I love all the patriotic projects and displays….. working on some patriotic cross stitch projects right now. I thought I had some blue fabric with stars in my stash, but if I do, I can’t find it. Off to the LQS today to get some so I can finish 2 little pillows. I need to start decorating!!! Mary, your leg looks better but still 😳. Quite a bruised area you have there as well. I think just keeping it lightly covered is the answer, but that’s just my opinion. That and $5 will get you a cup of coffee. Ha
Joy — praying all goes well with your surgery today. Mary, let us know.
Take care all!!
Mary…I thought I was blind with glasses on and a magnifying glass I could not read the instructions. Even though you reposted, I will send gladly the $5.00. Your leg still needs some healing! Ouch! I just lost my Jack 😿 and only had him 5 1/2 years but came to me around 7. I am too darn old to adopt again. My Jack looks like Mortie.
I don’t know how you do it with your “gang”!
I love the “quilt shows”! Thank You!
So sorry about your Jack. They do ingrain themselves in our hearts.
Have you ever tried Medihoney? It’s a medicinal honey that helps wounds gear quicker and acts as an antiseptic as well. The tube is tiny but you only smear on a thin film and cover it. My DIL uses it in the wound clinic and I really like it.
Mary H – you’re the second reader to tell me about this!!
Mary – oh, I am so sorry you have lost your Jack! I just know you gave him the best 5-1/2 years of his life.
Mary, I’m so sorry that you lost your sweet Jack. 💔 They have a way of melting into our hearts and bringing us joy! Treasure those precious memories of your sweet boy and know that he will be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. 🐾
Mary, I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve lost Jack. The house gets so quiet without a cat, doesn’t it? We have lost our “dear companions”, as in the old folk song. Sending you a hug.
Mary, so sorry you lost your Jack, but I agree you gave him his best 5 years! I’ve always adopted the older dogs as well. Only one was a challenge, but I gave him his best 5 yrs, too. He’d been returned to the shelter too many times by others. He just had trust issues, but I loved him & he learned to love me too. I adopted a Shih Tzu 1 yr old pup a year ago & I’m 81. He’s living his best life & so am I!! Consider adopting again! 😊
Alice – such good advice – you’re not too old. And I say if you’re a dog person you just have to have a dog! Boots is a lucky pup!
