I wasn’t able to get a picture of dirty Hazel tonight but thankfully she’s now had a bath – I didn’t want to have to sleep with her that filthy! She had a good time digging in the big dirt pile but I do have my limits.

I’ve been doing it wrong for 50 years!

What is the purpose of a hanging rod on the BOTTOM of the quilt as shown in several quilts on this blog?
Barb – I assume the rod at the bottom adds weight so the quilt hangs straight.
I have not gotten ads for a very long time, either on the email one or the blog. And, I don’t see a place to click on or off. Wonder why? I did have an ad blocker for a while, but let it go and that was about a year ago.
I loved the quilt show, too. So many excellent quilts! Did one person make them all? The way they are hung makes me think that, I guess.
We have a small patch of corn this year and it is so green and quite high. Excited to have it. We don’t always grow corn because we have a small garden. Plus, we are getting close to having cucumbers, but not yet.
Have a great day everyone….
Today’s quilts are amazing! I can’t even begin to choose a favorite; they are all wonderful.
I enjoyed hearing all your cats’ names, love them.
Thanks, Mary 🥰
What a wonderful quilt show today. Thanks to all who shared the photos!
Glad to get the official “Cat Count,” Mary. You have lots of mouths to feed!🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛🐈⬛
I’ve missed the passing of spring to summer. No country drives but loving the corn pictures. When my daughter was on a road trip a few years ago I asked for pictures. She sent one of herself doing a TA-DA, (arms wide, big smile) standing at the edge of an Iowa cornfield taller than she was by at least two feet! Ever since then when she is out in the country, she sends an updated version. So silly for my serious 40-something little girl. Our son? Nope. When he was on RAGBRAI two years ago he sent a picture of his camouflaged bike against the corn. Green bike against tall, tall green corn! No son anywhere in sight. Sheesh! Kids.
As with so many readers, I have loved the last few quilt shows. I need to make my RWB 3-D Pinwheel star table runner that has been languishing in a basket for at least four years. Get with the program, Kris!
Prayers continue for all. Kris in WI
Kris – and we continue to pray for you, too!
I always read your blog on my computer, and I almost always have ads. I just refreshed the page to read the new comments I hadn’t read yet, and there were eight more ads to click on. Most of them were interspersed between the comments, so I always go to the end of the comments to make sure I get all of them.
Such beautiful quilts again today. I love the patriotic ones so much. I have a couple hanging year round.
I’m glad you received a lot of birthday cards. That was my hope, that you would, and I am not surprised by that.
Beautiful quilts today, scrolled 2-3 times to take in all the details. Thanks for all the comments everyone is leaving, so much to learn from all of you.
Hope we get a little of the rain they keep promising.
Rita – I so agree! Love the discussions we have!
Outstanding quilt show. Pure joy to view. Love the corn picture. Will have to find out when it’s corn picking time in Ohio. Don’t want to miss it. No breeze today, but at least it is less humid.
Miss Pammie is beautiful! 😻 You have a nice long list of kitties 🐈⬛! Fluffy bun must get around fast to bully all of them. I’m glad Barney is staying 😻
Luckily, I have been able to sleep in my bed the last 2 nights and finally getting good sleep 😴. I had a sharp pain in front of knee this morning that scared me and I had only been walking. Therapist comes this afternoon and I will just have to tell her when I need to stop.
WOW!!! Great quilt photos and more!!!
Glad to see a full ear of corn developed – our corn here in east central OH varies in development because of the rainy, chilly spring weather we had. I did see some tassled out yesterday, so there’s progress!
Such beautiful quilts! And white Hazel!
We had to make an unexpected trip to Michigan be cause of the sudden unexpected death of our brother in law. We on our way home today. Such a shock. We did stay with our son and family. So had an extra treat seeing them.
I was looking forward to a relaxing 4th of July, but that was not in Gods plan. We traveled to Michigan instead. The crops all look so beautiful all the way until you get to the Grand Rapids area. Very dry and the corn is only knee high in places. They need rain badly!
Love all the pictures! Mary your pile of weeds! Yikes! Thanks for the blog!
Sorry about the death of your brother-in-law. Always a shock if it comes unexpected. Glad you could be there for your family
Joy – I am so sorry you have lost a family member and a sudden unexpected drive all the way to MI. Very sad.
The weeds were so tall because I was trying to save the prairie mallow. When I tried to pull them when they were small the mallow came out, too, and in the end I lost them anyway. That’s ok – I’m mowing it from now on – I can’t weed.
I, too, enjoyed the quilt show with morning chai tea. What can you tell me (us) about the Watermelon with Stars quilt? The mug quilt rugs are fantastic!
Loving all the quilt photos! Inspirational!
The quilts are beautiful as always, so much talent & inspiration! I deleted 6 ads from my phone this morning!!
Oh, boy, did I enjoy all the photos! Such great quilts!
When we had the farm, I started steaming our fresh eggs and never had any issues with peeling them. The immediate plunge in ice water helps, too, but even without it, the steaming worked well.
What a lovely group of quilts today! Really hard to pick a favorite. One thing that did strike me; the amount of wall space someone has!!!! How nice to be able to display so many quilts.
Delightful quilt show! Great color choices
Wow, what a beautiful quilt show! I am partial to the purple one. Love Hazel, as always. I don’ remember Pammie. How many cats keep you company? Also, I just noticed that I do not get any ads. Thanks for a wonderful show today.
Brenda – Pammie is my oldest cat at age 18-19. Then there’s Deano, Millie, Three, Gracie and Greta plus Barney and Mama in the barn and Fluffybun who threatens all of them. Are you reading the post by email or online? Readers – help here. I just don’t know.
Regarding the ads, I read this on email. When I open the email, the first thing I do is tap on ‘read on blog’. The ads will then come up so you can delete them. Hopefully this helps. Wonderful quilts today – I’m envious.
Janet – thanks so much!!
If she’s reading the post in a web browser, like Chrome, Edge or Safari, she may have an ad blocker running in the browser. Most ad blockers have a way to turn off the blocking for a specific site, and allow ads on that site, while still blocking other sites. In my browser, there’s a little ad-blocker icon at the top left. If I click that when I’m at a particular site, I get the option to turn blocking off for that site. Of course, I keep it turned off for your site, so I get all the ads.
Dot – thanks so much, I hope she sees this.
Mary I always read your blog on my iPhone. Every once in a while when I click read on blog I don’t get any ads. So I don’t delete the email I wait a day go back in and the ads are there. I don’t get it but at least I can click the ads the next day.
The quilt show was amazing. Thank you for the blog and thank you to everyone that comments. This is my morning ritual with my coffee, look at the blog and read all the comments. Great way to start my day.
How can you not enjoy having morning coffee with a wonderful quilt show. Thank you for a nice way to begin this sunny day.
Wonderful quilts today! Also had 12 ads today!
Dee – really? And Brenda from GA just asked why she doesn’t have any. I don’t understand,
So many half square triangles is one of the most outstanding quilts today. It is so hard to pick a favorite.
Hi Li, that’s my half square triangle quilt! 81 blocks,16 squares in each block, haven’t done the math’s yet, but it cleaned out a lot of scraps in fabric and calico! Probably for my great nephew Thomas, but seriously thinking about keeping it, hopefully l will be glad to see it go when the quilting is done! The flying geese shown is for his brother Toby. Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
What a great quilt show! And thanks for the tip on peeling hardboiled eggs! Thats a good one. Gonna try today for egg salad sandwiches.
Jean – let me know how it works for you – I thought it was genius!
Corn and quilts! I’m loving these last few posts! Thank you.
