EXTRA! EXTRA! 8-30-23

I’m writing this extra post because I didn’t want this event to get swallowed up in the shop tour.

Yesterday Becky shot a hole in one while playing golf with her friend Jenee! How many 70 year olds do you know who can say that?

Rick equates this extraordinary feat to a grand slam in baseball!

Our mom would be so thrilled for Becky as am I.

Well done!

    Way to go, Becky! I am lucky if I get it in the hole in 10 strokes. Of course, the grandkids loved that b/c they could always beat me! I looked and looked at all the pet and quilt photos the last few days. What fun:)
    Mary, we are kindred spirits as fas as keeping a sewing room clean. I cannot blame Squeak and Buddy b/c they go right to their quilt in the window and sit down. I jsut get caught up in the work and then have to stop to clean!!

      Becky, I just checked online to see what the odds of a regular golfer getting a hole in one. Are you ready for the answer?? Drum roll, please….. it is 12,500 to 1. Of course for the pros, who are on the links every day, the ratio is not quite as high. But it is still an amazing accomplishment, even for them.

      Mary, have you ever golfed? Your talents in quilting and book writing, are like a hole in one in artistic accomplishments. My “Hole in One” is on the rare occasion when I can thread the needle on the first try. The odds of that happening are very low, and getting worse every day.

    Wow Becky, that’s a fantastic event at any age. I agree with the other gals….a grand slam isn’t nearly as awesome. I’ve never golfed, so I’m not looking for a hole in one, but it has to be on the same level as an Oscar or an Emmy, (or a “Best of Show” in a quilt show). Congratulations, Becky. I wish you many more in the future.

    BIG fete for BECKY,
    Lake Coeur d’Alene, Idaho has an Island that is one hole of the golf course. Players get two tries to get their ball onto it…my youngest son did just that last week. Best part is they have a boat that takes the players to finish their put!!

    Very often I watch professional golf on tv and only once have I seen someone hit a hole-in-one. This is on a course they have been practicing on for an entire week.
