I have a sister named Betty so it a beautiful name.
Spent an afternoon outside last week trimming up a couple of bushes. Have two more I would like to do this week. They are not so big so I took an old sheet to lay on the ground, cut the branches, gathered up the corners and carried it close to the burn ring for later.
    Have a great day girl.

May you have a blessed birthday, Betty! I wish you the happiest of birthdays today. Love reading your comments and hearing about your weather. 🙂 Our daughter lived in Spearfish several years when her husband was a pastor there. We enjoyed visiting them, but it was a long ways from our house to theirs! We hauled a piano out there in our mini van one time, and another time, an orange kitten and another rime drove two vehicles out there as their 14 year old daughter bought our PT from us. I didn’t realize we did that many different things. They live in ND now where he continues to pastor a church.

Betty, I wish you a happy birthday along with all the others. By now you seem like a special friend as do all of the other bloggers on Mary’s “Much Ado About Nothing” blog, a pun from Shakespeare, if I remember correctly. I am still amazed that people from all over the world can be joined together by this blog, from a small farm in Garner, Iowa. Mary, you should be so proud of the community of like minded bloggers and friends that you have brought together.
Betty, I hope your day is spent with family and friends, doing the things that you enjoy most. Jeanne in Co.

Hi Betty, Happy Birthday! 🎈 I enjoy reading your comments. Actually look forward to learning “your take” on all sort of subjects. A few years back we flew to Rapid City, SD and joined a tour group. Our stops were Mount Rushmore (day and night), Needles Hwy, Badlands, Custer State Park with bison, museums, Crazy Horse Monument and other stops including Devil’s Tower in Wyoming. Well, Mary at Country Threads brings us all together. So Special Wishes to You.

  31. Lois Ann Johnson

A belated Happy Birthday to you, Betty! I am late in wishing you Happy Birthday but the sentiment is still the same! My son lives in Rapid City so I am familiar with that part of your beautiful state. The weather here has been lovely. Most of the snow has melted, except for the large piles of snow that were created by the plow coming through. I hope you get to have some birthday cake!

  32. Rosemary W

Happy birthday from Garner Iowa too!! Always enjoy your comments on the blog! Hope you’ve enjoyed the day and all these well wishes!

  33. Judy Gnade

It seems I’m always late to the party, so I hope you HAD a Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy Birthday! No wait, it’s not over! I hope you had a good day and a great evening doing what you love best. And don’t forget to have cake for breakfast tomorrow!
I always enjoy your comments because as my mother used to say, “You keep us honest!” Meaning you give us a perspective on things to think about that we may not have considered.
Thanks also for sending the sun our way, we are really enjoying it. Kris

  35. Connie in NV

Oh, my. What a wonderful surprise. Then some old friends stopped and they stayed longer than usual. Pretty busy day, but how nice. There is family around here but they all have families, jobs and things they need to do and I rarely hear from them. I have often thought that Mary’s blog ladies are such good friends. We all share likes, dislikes and all that stuff. And quilting never gets old. I feel for the people who never got to stop at Country Threads and meet Mary and Connie AND all the critters. We are the next best thing.

My friends, Clint and Judi, stopped. The got twin granddaughters almost a year ago. I started ‘I Spy” quilts for then and am just getting them finished. Clint had seen them in progress, but Judi hadn’t, so she got to see them today. She was pleased.

And I’ll have to tell you something that was the very best. I sent an ‘I Spy’ quilt to a great, great niece in St. Louis. She’ll be 2 in May. The quilt was delivered but I hadn’t written that it was coming. I was getting worried it was sitting on the step. After inquiries, her daddy sent a very dark picture with the caption: Yes, she got the quilt and now she is refusing to sleep in bed. She is sleeping on the floor WITH the quilt!!!

This has been such a nice day. Thank you for all the wishes. Oh, whenever I talked to a “Betty” on the phone when I was working, I’d always guessed they were the same vintage as me!!! And they were.

And the weather report. Friday and Saturday we had very active fog and visiability was extremely limited. Saturday it turned to heavy, rainy fog and we got 1/2″ rain. Today it was a gray day, but the sun came out this afternoon. The next 2 days are supposed to be sunny and in the 60’s, then turning to cooler. We just don’t have very many of the foggy, gray days.

Take care. It is so nice to hear from all of you thru the blog. Keeps us in touch with the world.

Betty – I’m so glad you’ve been celebrating your birthday! I’m always worried when I do these back from somebody – what if they’ve fallen and can’t get to the phone! Etc, etc! You had nice company and quilts were part of your day – not many things better! You’ll need to rest up tomorrow!

  38. Francine from Dubuque

Wishing you a happy belated birthday Betty. Hope it’s a sunny day there for you today,The sun is shining bright this morning in Eastern Iowa. Love it. Love your chats on the blog always.

Happy birthday Betty! Sounds like you had a good day! Hope you are able to go to the Gathering on Tuesday. You’ll have quite the story to tell!

Did you get a roku TV. If you did you have to use that remote and it’s a pain. Hunted all over for just a smart TV for my mom and found one at Target. You might have to have the person from your internet provider come out and adjust rhe remote.

Happy belated birthday, Betty! I’m on vacation in sunny cold FL! At present it’s 53*, pretty chilly! We’re up in the Panhandle of FL where the tornado went through about 3-4 wks ago. A lot of destruction here, but right next to it was not damaged. One thing we found a bit strange here is a 5% tourist tax on top of the other tax! We complain about how high things are back in Ohio, but nothing like here! At least the sun is out even if it is cold!😎

  42. Jeanie S, Central IL

Happy Belated Birthday, Betty! I did read about your special day yesterday, but it was too late to send a message.
I liked hearing about your “I Spy” quilts. I can imagine they are lots of fun for the lucky little recipient.
As many others stated, I enjoy your funny and common sense responses. Take Care, 🥰
