Wow, love them ALL! Can’t wait to buy this book in September. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Shirley from Oregon

Wow Mary and Connie, the trunk show and your new book are fantastic.
I don’t have a doggie anymore but I could sure adapt that to my friends dogs and give to them. Making the doggie wallhanging(s) would make a great fundraiser for your rescue efforts.

Mary and Connie, congratulations on another great book! The quilts are FABULOUS!

  4. Nilene Thompson-Finn

Oh Mary! What a fantastic trunk show. I want to make every single project. I am thinking I will choose two or three of them for my DD color projects this year! WooHoo. Congrats on another great, great book!

  5. Suzanne Golden

Love your new book and the great quilts. Like the little addition of the pillows.

  6. Linda from Georgia

Love the quilts! So fresh but still vintage. The pillows are a wonderful addition.

Good to see a new take on older patterns; it helps to open my mind to other possibilities & combinations to use my own hoard of fabric! I can see parts of your “Candy Mountain” pattern in some of the blocks. Thanks for the reminder to think outside the box once in a while!

  10. Sandy

Wow Mary! The quilts are fabulous, my favorites are the first 2, what a great way to start the day with a quilt show! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy

Love the book. love the quilts. Honestly, I don’t know when the two of you find time to design, make, quilt and produce a book of patterns. Your energy and productivity is mystifying. I just think of all the other things you are involved in, take care of, and manage. I feel like such a sloth. Congratulations on another wonderful book I can acquire and hope I could possibly make one or two of these gems.

  12. Jackie in NY

Wow! Phenomenal quilts! I love them all – I need to make Betty’s House! Congratulations on the new book!

MARY!! The book is awesome. I can’t wait to morph Betty into Rosie. I’m sure I can. You guys hit this one out of the park. CONGRATS. Will you be selling copies or not?

    1. Mary Etherington Post author

Jo Kramer. – yes, I will be mailing out copies but I didn’t want to take any preorders to keep track of. I’ll let you know as soon as it hits my house!

Wowser!!! I can’t wait to get your new book and I’ve already picked out which quilts I’ll do first. Martingale did a great job of previewing your book.

  23. Susie lenz

This video was excellent! Your quillts looked great! Looks like a great book to add to my library. Thanks for sharing!🌸

  24. Betty Klosterman

What a great presentation. I think I recognize some of your old patterns?? They were good then and still are. I just love it when lots of people make the same pattern and see how they each used colors, etc.

Question, Mary. Do you pronounce Etherington with a “short” e or a “long” e? Did the lady in the video pronounce it right?

Oh! Mary! Both you and Connie did a wonderful job with this book! I love several of the patterns, but my favorite is Betty’s house 💟. I can’t wait….are you accepting pre-orders? Thanks!

  26. Luci

Love, love, love this book, Mary and Connie. I have most of your books I think, and this one is, as usual, bright as a new penny. You are so creative and bring fun to my house all the time. My order for this book will be at the top of list.
I look forward to your latest news in my email, and I must admit they bring lots of humor, sometimes ahas, sometimes head shakes in agreement, and a thought of “How does she do it all?” You have a big heart, Mary, and we are all lucky to have you in our world, especiallly the animals. Thanks always, and yea for the new book.

  27. Lynne from NJ

I enjoyed the trunk show today. Looking forward to getting the book when available.

  28. NancyTD

Mary and Connie— The book is great. I have picked many projects with fabric I have. Sept. can’t come soon enough so I can order your book. All your hard work is sure to bring a big seller.

  29. Meredith in Cincinnati

Mary and Connie: congratulations on such a wonderful new book! Love rhat cover quilt; might be the first one on my “to make” list. Enjoyed the video, and loved it when she mentioned how effective straight line quilting can be. Really looking forward to the release of this book.

Wow! I love it!! You two really knocked it out of the ballpark. Wonderful quilts, wonderful colors. Those little pillows are so cute.

  33. Diane in Maryland

Mary and Connie – I love the fabric choices in each quilt! Your “scrappy” fabrics coordinate beautifully. Congratulations on gorgeous quilts and book!

  34. Kathy in western NY

The trunk show sure was spectacular! Are you allowed to say if you use triangle paper to make all those tiny HST or do you piece them all Individually?

  35. Karel

Just watched the You Tube video and LOVED all the quilts!! The color selections were great!!

  36. Jeanie S, Central Illinois

Love your new book; it is great! I so look forward to having my own copy. 🤗

  37. Jane dumler

Love the colors you worked with and the patterns. You two are amazing. Congratulations on another success.

  38. Kris in WI

Oh, oh…Cherry Baskets is seriously looking at me! It’s hard to choose a favorite, but that might be it. I think it’s time for me to use some of those brighter colors and this is just the nudge I need. Great collection!

  39. Deb Bayne

    Mary,
I never thought of you and Connie as being dark and primitive! Guess I will be from now on.

The new book looks wonderful. You both should be very proud.

    Keep up the great work,

    Okayama, Japan (finally)

    1. Mary Etherington Post author

Deb – are you really and truly back in Japan? Wow – who would have ever thought you’d get stuck in Minnesota!

    2. Mary Etherington Post author

Deb – how long have you followed us? We always did dark and primitive until this book.

      1. Deb Bayne

        Mary,
Yes, dealing with the rehab of the house in MN took about 7 months longer than I anticipated. Hubby is certainly glad I’m back and I think my daughter is very happy to have her house to herself again.

I’ve followed you and Connie for years, including one weekend retreat and many, many trips to Iowa shopping and just enjoying the creativity you inspired. I guess I’ve never associated “dark and primitive” with you two. Primitive, yes, but not dark.

        deb

  40. Jan B from TN

Wow! I can’t wait to purchase this one! Like me, you’ve come away from the “dark side” of fabric! Bravo!

  41. Karen Gaither

Mary & Connie – I love the new book. I will for sure purchase it and probably start with making Feathered To A T first and then maybe Spring Days or Iowa Road. The quilts are beautiful. The woman mentioned straight line quilting, Mary did you quilt the samples?

    1. Mary Etherington Post author

Karen – yes, I did all the straight line quilting but there are a couple of bigger quilts that Connie had done at Calico Hutch in Hayward.

  42. Wendy T.

Hi Mary- I just watched the video for your new book. You and Connie outdid yourselves! I love every single one of them. Look forward to purchasing it when it is available. Thanks!

  43. Candy

Congratulations on the fabulous new book Mary & Connie! I love all the quilts! You always inspire me to re-think how I use my stash and re-make favourite patterns. Thanks for sharing the preview.

  44. Marian Stever

How enjoyable was that!!!!! Love all the quilts. Looks like we have to wait until September…

  45. Jo in Wyoming

I finally got to see the video….I’m sure Iowa is as pretty as your quilts.
I’ll be watching for the time to order.
    Congratulations on another wonderful book.

  46. Diane, Squeak, Buddy

Love them, Mary and Connie!! I wrote the title down and how to order from you for my husband so he can order for my September birthday, but I think I’ll just order it myself! Getting ready for a yard sale tomorrow. Yes, I’m thinking about getting my head examined! 🤪🤪

    1. Mary Etherington Post author

Diane – yikes! Now that’s real work – a yard sale!!

      1. Diane, Squeak, Buddy

Yes. Not sure why I decided to do it, but here we go! I think we’ll do it just Friday. We’ll see. Nice here today. I will send you a pic of our new rescue great grand kitty😺. His name is Archie

  47. Jan Smith

Always love what you two can make, with so much flair. Will be adding this to my CT book collection.
