FUN!!! 12-29-21

I LOVED seeing all your quilts – what a great group of quilters! I got so many pictures – I’m so happy you responded! Now for my dilemma – I got so many pictures of finished projects as well as New Years Day projects that I’m hoping I can keep them all straight. I’m going to post the finished quilts now and if I receive more pictures, they will come in another post.

Scraps from the quilt!

The following photos were sent as projects laid aside to sew on New Years Day.

Oh, I hope I didn’t mess that up too much! I think I should be caught up for now. It so fun to see what you’re all doing! Feel free to send more pictures!

Anybody else going to watch the Cheezit Bowl tonight – Iowa State vs. Clemson?

I love the quilt show! I think the next to last quilt shown today has some of the points turned the wrong way. It looks like it is supposed to be Friendship Stars in the middle of the squares, but one point is off on all of them. If that’s how it’s supposed to be, I apologize.

Another great quilt show! Can’t wait to see the New Year’s Day quilts finished.
I just turned the game on. Go Iowa State!!

Don’t we just love all the wonderful ways the ladies decide to put their scraps together? They are all beautiful. A favorite, and a great way to use scraps, is the rainbow log cabin in the snow! Hadn’t thought about that, but I really like it. Don’t mind the snow either. It just feels so good!! I’ll print out the picture for future inspiration….
Somebody mentioned making pillowcases on New Years Day. The Project Warmth girls passed a box of fabrics to me. They are not right to use in quilts, so I’m making the cases for the dog beds at the animal shelter. We fill them with the fabric scraps, bits of thread and batting and whatever. Does this count for New Years?
Happy New Year, everybody. Things just have to get better in 2022. Let’s us go for it.

    Beautiful, delightful, inspiring.
Love all the quilts in the show today.
    Thanks to all.
That little girl is a doll too!

Wow! Today’s posted quilts are fabulous! I see a couple of my favorites, too! I’m not sure what I’m going to work on New Year’s Day but I have plenty of UFOs to do rather than start another new project. I don’t get nearly as much done as you do, Mary. Do you ever sleep? 🤔😅

Gotta love Santa flying over the roof tops. Awesome quilt. Follow eagle nest in Decorah with live filming. Wow, you guys got snow! Looks really cold. Stay warm & safe both human & animals. Mid 50s here with lots of much needed rain. New Year’s Day is suppose to be clear skies & sunny…just in time for the Rose Parade. We are long over due for a big celebration. Happy New Year…

So many beautiful quilts. And the portable “design wall” is great … would love to know who sells it! Could you share?

Good luck to Iowa State, l’ll be watching the Badger basketball game. The Wisconsin football game is tomorrow night at 9:30. Hope I can stay awake long enough.

Well if that wasn’t the most enjoyable post and Mary, so much work putting it together for us. I feel like we are all such happy folks with our fabric and ideas to share. I am inspired to do a log cabin after seeing this one shown but right now I am finishing up a red and green scrap quilt on my design wall so I refuse to pull out more scraps till this is done. Then I can put these away till next year and clean up. I am so ready to give 2021 a boost in the you know what to get it out of here! I hope 2022 gives us all good health.

Thanks for sharing the photos, Mary. They’re such fun to look at, and agree with the others, it’s a quilt show viewing from my favorite chair! No snow in Tucson, but we did get rain. We’re at 2500 ft, but that rain turns to snow in the higher elevations, making for beautiful scenery. I am working on kits for my church group as we start meeting on 1/5 and need to be ready for those that like to sew. My personal sewing awaits – always last in line-heavy sigh🤷🏼‍♀️

Barbara Moore – your resolution for 2022 should be putting your personal sewing first!

We’re watching the game, hoping Iowa State can get back in this. Wow: they just intercepted a pass! Maybe they can.
    Great quilt pictures!

Watching Cyclones now at end of 3rd. Hope they can step up their game!

    Great group of quilts

Hi Mary, I need your help in how can I send you the picture of the quilt I plan to start on Jan 1, 2022.
I have tried a couple email addresses, they don’t work.
    Thank you
    Dorothy

Thank you for the address ladies. I think I am totally computer challenged.
        Happy quilting to everyone.

Oh, I would love to find some of that poodle fabric! The red-brown one looks just like my daughter’s dog, Mimi! The search is on! I’ve enjoyed all the quilts shared recently. I’m trying to ‘wing’ a new pattern for my New Year’s start. We’ll see how that turns out! Happy New Year everyone!
