I’ve got an appointment at the eye clinic but MAYBE I can write a post when I get home – thanks for the input that you got the test photos. I hate to jinx myself and say (it’s fixed)!!!!! Hold your breath. My IPad is a mini and quite old – I actually don’t even have a keyboard – I type it all with my thumbs! I’ve gotten pretty good at it! Hahaha!

One of my new “starts” from Jane and it’s already blooming! My basement greenhouse has the best looking plants – I should move more down there.

My hat’s off to you not only for the blog but doing everything from your iPad. Thank you!

I would love to have just part of your green thumb Mary.

I remember that Nature Center north of Mason City. But have never seen that rare bird.

Thank you for all the pictures. I have never seen a varied thrush before; it’s a beautiful bird. Our county was in the blizzard area, but it didn’t start snowing until late afternoon. We maybe got 2-3 inches of wet, heavy snow. The sun peeked out for a few seconds today. I found a recipe for homemade suet for feeders: 1 cup lard and 1 cup peanut butter. Melt together and add birdseed, raisins, or oats. Let it cool until you can handle it and press it into cookie cutter shapes or even into cat food cans. This was in the December-January issue of Birds and Blooms.

I can’t believe you do this blog from an iPad! Geesh! That must be very difficult, thank you for doing all that you do for us. I got all of your pictures except the very beginning – and I would have been screaming too! Hahaha. Like Rita Mulvey we are having another day of rain and more in the forecast. Getting so sick of this gloomy weather. Thanksgiving was spent with our daughter and son-in-law in New Hampshire and they had about 8″ of snow the day before. It was so very pretty. I had to get a new ipad last Christmas my old one wouldn’t take any of the updates. Beautiful flower and so large in comparison to the plant size.
The bird is one I have never seen and I would say it was worth your perseverance.
We are getting rain again here in CT seems like it rains every day. We had rain 19 of the 31 days in October.

    Lovely flower and lighting…so pretty!
    The birdie was so special!
Recommend one of the newer IPads. I’m on my second one and is so handy. I hardly need my desk computer any more. Except, pictures on the large screen are nice.
Look forward to your postings, Mary. I am so happy when I see Chicken Scratch!🐣🐔. Looking for more farm animals, kits, and pup pictures! No pressure…haha!

awesome bird glad you were persistent. Went to Colorado to my son’s for Thanksgiving. We raced to get home as the storm was on our tail in Nebraska and Iowa Saturday. We opted to drive straight through and got home after midnight. We are way too old to do 14 hours in a day but it was that or be stuck in a hotel all day Sunday. At home on the Wisconsin border we got 1/2 inch of snow. 4 miles away they got 12 and 13.5 inches of snow. We sure dodged a bullet.

My iPad would not longer accept updates, so I got a new one last Christmas. It is an iPad Pro and I purchased a keyboard to go with it. I highly recommend a keyboard. I rarely use the computer these days. The only problem with the Apple product…it does not support “flash” so I have to use the computer for anything that requires it. So far I don’t need flash very often. I used to do my club minutes on the computer at times that my husband wasn’t using it, but it is much easier to do on my iPad when I want to do it. I have been enjoying your blog. Through it I have started reading Bonnie Hunter’s blog and I may do her mystery quilt. I have fabric laid out for it. You may keep the snow. It is 33 with light flurries here. I think the heavier snow went through northern Indiana
