The game just ended and who could possibly believe how it ended. I just heard that Florida led for only 1:03 of the whole game and yet they are the national champions. And I had to watch One Shining Moment and remember Greg Gumbel.
It’s just part of living in the country – spring yard work. And honestly it’s not so bad but today was pretty chilly – about 40 degrees.
This is an old farmstead with old trees so I always have twigs and branches to pick up. Here’s one of my piles today:

The final two games both ending so dramatically were something to remember!
Spring is definitely here. My Solomon seal is about a foot high and my white bleeding heart is in bloom. If the rains stop I will try to take a picture and send it to you. The quilt retreat was productive this past weekend,I really enjoyed getting away and not having to cook any meals. Lots of ads to close today. Have a great day.
All the outdoor pictures of your yard are great! I am looking forward to spring.
Thanks, Mary 🥰
I graduated from the University of Houston, as did my daughter and son-in-law. She was broken hearted at the loss. Me, I can’t watch because my mouth gets me in trouble! Ha!
Oh, Paula ! My mouth gets me in trouble all the time. For some reason, if it flashes through my brain, it falls out of my mouth! Haha
Paula – I have thought of those Houston players many times since the game and wonder how their everyday lives must reflect their grief over that stunning loss. Behind for only 1:03 in the whole game – only to lose.
I love the parking notes!!!
Such a close game! Sorry Houston! Hope your pile of twigs is thornless!
My husband just trimmed our mesquite and citrus trees and it’s my job to gather them up. Those puppies have THORNS!
It’s amazing how many twigs fall when the wind is blowing so hard. Spent Sunday morning burning a lot of the brush and grasses I had cut. First morning without a lot of wind. This morning watching about 16 Turkeys doing there spring dance. Can’t get a picture because of the trees and it across the valley. The Valley is were where Grant Wood painted the Fall Planting picture. Love this area.
Going out this cold 32 degree morning to do some more burning.
Clean-up time is indeed upon us – I’m leaving quite a few leaves on the planting beds yet because we still have plenty of chances for frost here in Ohio. I did cut out some of the old stalks the other day – I think the birds were done with the coneflower seeds. I have some older, large trees too and the recent winds and rains have kept me busy picking up fallen branches. My son helped me get the mower ready to go over the weekend – I don’t think I can put it off much longer, so I’ll be mowing as soon as it seems dry enough.
I need to check my bleeding heart this morning, it was starting to bloom a couple of days ago. It’s pretty close to the house and I was tired, so I didn’t cover it last night and the temps got down into the 20’s. Ah spring – looking forward to the awakening of the earth!
I love the parking tickets. “Maybe buy yourself a coloring book so you can practice staying in the lines.” HAHA!!
My favorite coffee mug says “I have neither the time nor the crayons to explain this to you “.
We put together a family and friends March Madness pool. My brother had Houston and my six-year-old granddaughter had Florida. So I’m not upset that Florida won. Several of us are buying her slime gifts to celebrate.
Your cleanup looks great but also a lot of work.
I love the parking “ tickets” and will use them. Thanks 😆
