After Houston’s shocking win last night I was so keyed up I didn’t get to sleep till after 2:30 am. Wasn’t that some game? I was sure I set my alarm for 7:15 but this morning I suddenly woke on my own …. at 7:15! No alarm went off! That game really shook me up and I didn’t care who won – I just watch. But the unexpected ending of the game likely affected lots more people than just me. The women’s final today was simply boring – I turned it off and went outside to rake.
Remember those new plants I bought at Walmart? I just happened to check for moisture yesterday and found them very wet. I took the plant with all the dirt still on it out of the pot and literally squeezed out running water – twice! I hope I saved them in time but they’ve been sitting in water for a week now.
30 degrees this morning ☹️

I love the quilts in this post, especially the baby quilt. The picture of Keeper sharing his chair with Three is precious. 😊
Thanks , Mary 🥰
Games were wild! And now for the final tonight 🏀 should be a great one!
Beautiful quilts again. Karla, the baby quilt is precious and so is the quilting pattern that has been used on it. If it is a pantograph, would you please share the pattern name? Sandy, your quilt is a work of art. Nicely done.
Oh my goodness, all that rain at once. Send some of it out to Co. we are desperate for some moisture. The trees are budding and also some of the spring shrubs, but their roots must be crying for a drink of water. We could have used some of that snow that covered a lot of the eastern states this winter. Today is warm and sunny, a good time to skip the recumbent bike ride and get outside with my walker for a change of scenery.

Hi Jeanne ~ yes it is a pantograph by My Creative Stitches called Jasmine Swirl.
Thanks Karla. Sometimes it is hard when ordering pantographs to tell how big and how condensed they are. The pictures can be deceiving. Seeing it on your lovely quilt gives a much better perception of it. It was a great choice for that quilt and entices me to order it. Jeanne
Jeanne, I struggle with what size to use and pattern density too. I used this pattern digitally on my longarm computer at a pattern height of about 10″ if that helps?
Kara T., I adore your quilt! Looks like for a baby/child, but so light and breezy for a spring quilt~~heart…heart
I also LOVE Karla’s creative quilt! So easy and so effective!
Agree on both were great teams. Can’t wait for tonight’s (Monday’s) game! Should be another barn burner!
Love Karla’s quilt. I may have to make one with some vintage 5” squares. Who knew my fabrics from 1970 and 80’s would be considered vintage.
Beautiful quilts! Sandy, your medallion quilt is lovely and Karla – what a pretty baby quilt! I love the way you did the binding, looks like a lot of work. Keeper doesn’t want to share! Jan in MA
Great quilt show today.
Great quilt show once again!
Karla, can I ask what size your squares are on that beautiful baby quilt ? . The colors are so pretty.
Hi Connie~ I used 5″ squares and 2″ squares on the corners. Easy peasy! They’re just scraps from my stash-
The pale green squares are from some yardage I had and wanted to use up.
Karla, Thanks for the block sizes. Your quilt is so pretty. Perfect spring quilt. I’m going to pull out my scraps and see what I can come up with. Thank you.
The Houston/Duke game was a heartbreaker for this Mainer. Cooper Flagg has kept many of us glued to the TV for sure. Great quilts today. Karla T’s quilt is a great way to us up leftover scraps. Love it. The picture of Keeper and the cat is so cute. Keeper know it’s his chair and if the cat wants to join him, it will just have to squeeze in. I love cats and dogs!!!!
Ginger – I could hardly look at Flagg when he was being transported off the floor to the locker room. This is how we left last year when Caitlin lost in the final – I was so sad for her because she had played her heart out. The foul on Flagg was pure nonsense – no foul! Such a sad ending for him because I suppose now he’ll enter the draft and we won’t see him anymore.
I remember how badly I felt for Caitlin and you are right, this felt the same way. I kind of wish he would stay with Duke for at least another year. He’s so young, just turned 18 in December i believe. He has been a phenom almost since he hit the courts. He has a twin brother, Ace, who is also great player. He is a senior in high School and I believe will play for the University of Maine next year. That will keep the Mainers busy following those games. Mainers love their basketball! I thought the foul was nonsense too. Oh well!
Beautiful quilt show today ladies. Sandy, that sure was a lot of work and steps in that one. It turned out beautiful. Take care everyone.
We were watching the game, too, and with 30 seconds left the power went out! We’ve had 8 inches of rain in three days, and a tree across the street slid down a hill and took out some lines. Happily, power was restored in a few hours, and I did see the ending on TV. You’re right: the women’s games were very one-sided. Love the baby quilt, Karla T!
Meredith – I would have screamed if the power went out with 30 seconds left – honestly the last 30 seconds told the story of the game. 8” of rain – I saw a video on FB of flooding streets there. I’m not sure where that much rain would go around here. And how long will it take to go down – think of the mess.
Beautiful quilt show today. Sandy, is that your medallion quilt? Its just gorgeous, congratulations! Love them all ❤
Hi Mary, l forgot to put my sign on my quilt (the first one shown), it fills the small area l have in my lounge, by the time l have moved coffee tables and the dog bed and spread the quilt out,l was exhausted! Have been working on sashing and borders for my mariners compass quilt today, ready to trace the lines for the vine and leaves tomorrow . Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
After that Houston win I read that it would be Copper Flagg’s last day at Duke. Say what? Then found out he was going into the NBA draft as the no. 1 draft pick. I just wanted to say to him, “you’re 18, you’ll never get to go to college again like this. Don’t rush things. Put the NBA on hold for a bit “. But what do I know. It just almost seemed sad to go play at NB A level so young. Great player. Great teams, Houston and Duke.
I love the snowball quilt.
And Keeper with his cat.
Carolyn, I agree. There should be a rule that they can’t enter the NBA until they are at least 20 years old. How many young men are mature enough to handle that life and all the money and environment at age 20, speak nothing of age 18? There is plenty of time for the NBA, but then we aren’t the ones with the gold carrot dangling in our face.
Cat is saying “can you move over a little” 🤗
