He’s Ba-ack! 4-27-26

Tim was in the woodshed this morning and actually acted afraid of me until I climbed the ladder to feed him. Where has he been for almost 2 months?????

Very windy and cold tonight – I closed the barn up to keep the drafts away from the chicks. Look at this girl’s pretty eye makeup.

Porch time with Molly and Three!

Heavy rain this afternoon.

Remember this quilt on the left? The quilt on the right is the David Butler jelly roll – same pattern but just arranged differently.

The leftovers became small quilts.

I used every little slice – just for fun. Pattern was in a previous post.

Just hangin out
Reader says this used 2 jelly rolls
Hank says HI!

I really enjoy seeing your animal pictures. I’m glad Tim came back. His fur looks good and cared for. Does his wound look healed?
It’s interesting how different the two jellyroll quilts look with a different layouts of the same blocks.

Pat – Tim is gone again today! His wound looked healed but I don’t think he felt as solid and muscular. Maybe I should live trap him and have him neutered?

Hank is a charmer and such a sweet dog and that Tim is a rascal for being gone so long and causing so much concern. I bet it was wonderful to have Casey come and help with cleanup, and your new plants will be stunning in the wash basin. I don’t dare go to the garden shops yet, frost is possible still. I hope my planted wildflower seeds don’t get hit by a frost. The wild turkeys were here yesterday pecking away at the straw and digging around. I had to shoo them away twice and then clean up their mess. We had some nice steady rain and things the trees are budding out. Come on Spring showers, bring us some May flowers.

Kim – we are cold again with wind chills in the 30’s – I always think Mothers Day is safe to put plants out – we will see. I don’t know anything about wild turkeys – do they live there year round? Do they poop all over your lawn like geese?

I think you should put an air tag on Tim so we can solve the great mystery! Everyone looks happy today!

Jamie – haha! That might actually be pretty fun – but I’m not sure I’d ever get a collar on him first.

Hello to Handsome Hank! And that Tim…he is an intrepid soul or somewhat of a hobo, always travelling somewhere. When I was a little girl, we had a yellow cat named Puff. Dad was always trying to evict Puff from our life, though I have no idea why. A few times, Dad took Puff for a loooooong ride and “deposited” him at distant locations from our home. Each ride would be longer than the previous one. And yet, days or weeks later my little sisters and I would be playing in the yard and Puff would come strolling up the driveway. LOL, of course WE were ecstatic. Dad, probably not so much. I haven’t thought about Puff in decades, but it was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw Tim was back.
Disclaimer: I don’t in any way mean to disparage my father. We always had a kitty or two around and took good care of our pets. I do not know why Puff was not welcome. Attitudes about how to deal with animals have changed a lot since the 1950s and I’m pretty sure Dad would not do the same thing today.

So nice to see Tim, he looks pretty healthy! Hope his ear infection has healed. The quilts are nice – the difference with the choice of fabrics is so interesting. I love the David Butler fabric and the reader’s two jelly roll quilt is beautiful! Molly looks so content, and Hank! That face! We have a nice day again, rain forecast for later in the week. We do need it, so I’ll try to enjoy the rainy days and get some sewing in. I’m planning on making some Japanese Rice Bags, looking for unusual fabrics to use in them. Jan

I just love seeing all of your pets and their friends that visit. Tim must have quite the territory. I’m glad he’s back with you getting some TLC. I love Hanks face in that last picture. He is a sharmer for sure!

Tim has been busy roaming, I’m sure. Is he all healed up?
It was a wonderful rainy weekend! And now it’s cooler, normal temps.
Everything is turning green. Jays anxious to get on the mower.
Yesterday I worked on a quilt for a while. And watched a little wren scrambling on the branches doing something with each bud. They are so fun!

So happy to see that Tim is back! He looks good! Molly and Three sure are happy together! The second arrangement of David Butler’s jelly roll shows off that fabric nicely. I really like that layout. Beautiful
St. Louis 16 patch. Mary, you have quite the doggie day care going on at your farmhouse! I am amazed at how well all the dogs get along and get along with the cats too! Hi back to Hank, he’s so cute!

Sally – before Hazel arrived I had many more dogs but many were smaller and Hazel attacked a couple of them – she was a lively puppy then and probably would be ok now. Just so you know – there is no money involved here. I do it because kindness matters.

Oh that Hank…..what a charmer!!!! Tim…..where has he been? Does he have memory problems? Was he closed up somewhere? I’m glad he’s back in your barn. I wish he’d stay. What a sweet picture of Molly. I love seeing all your animals!!!!!

Carol – I have checked the woodshed every single day for 6-8 weeks for Tim and I have asked all my neighbors closest to me if they recognized him – nobody did. So that means he travels further than I think. I’ve asked at the vet if they recognized him but since he’s not fixed I didn’t think they would. Sigh.
