For about three weeks now I’ve had trouble with this IPad that I use for everything. Verizon couldn’t help me – couldn’t really find anything wrong. Sold me a new cord. Still didn’t charge. Today I went to Batteries Plus who found a weakness in the plug. Bought a new plug for $15 and I hope that’s the end of it. Stopped at Walmart for a couple things – came out $121.00 poorer.
I pulled about 10 patterns I wanted to talk about and I don’t know where I left them. Makes me so mad.
Watched Caitlyn play golf this morning – I never did hear a score so don’t know how she actually did.
Diane, Squeak and Buddy welcomes a beautiful stray cat that they’ve named Rocketman . A family member is adopting him and will call him Rocky.

My rule is…look for something for 15 minutes! Then give up and move on or go to the store and buy another one.
I’m getting too much like my dad. Out of sight, out of mind. We had to take the doors off his cupboard, so he could see what he had.
I’m having trouble tapping the ads. Often it takes me to the advertising company, no matter how light I tap the 3 dots. So, I give up. Sorry, Mary. I try.
Jo – do not worry about those ads! Click when you can and dont bother if it doesn’t work. I would never take the time to go to those sites and waste my time. Never.
There’s the solution – take the doors off the cupboards!
HI Everyone, Thanks for your comments on Rocket Man aka Rocky. My husband dubbed him Rocket Man b/c at first he was in the garage and he’d “rocket” into the house. We want to keep him away from Squeak and Buddy until he is checked out by a Vet. Our grand daughter could get an appointment for 11/26. Ours wasn’t any better–11/25. He is a delightful little guy and he is gaining weight. He was skin and bones when we started feeding him outside, but has gained since coming inside to my husband’s wood shop. We think he might be part Russian Blue? He hasn’t meowed yet! Only some of the ads had the three little dots to click this time. Odd.
Mary, like you with handsome Tim, I always wonder where cats go when they leave. Buddy lived under a BIG Butterfly bush in front of the house that abandoned him. We never could track Rocket Man to find out where he went.
Find stuff in the sewing room? Ha–surely you jest!!
Diane – I had to change my eye appointment next week because there’s a funeral in Molly’s family and she’ll need to come here – I had to reschedule for February!
Wow! you must have a busy eye doctor, Mary. It is always something isn’t it? I’d love a week of no meetings, no appointments, and no odd happenings out of the blue. Ha! Enjoy Molly. It is going to be 59* today. Lovely:)
Diane – I think it’s ridiculous – it’s a 30 min recheck appt, for cryin out loud – for glaucoma. It’s clinic with several drs – maybe I should request a different Dr?
I had trouble with my ipad not charging as well. I was able to go to an Apple store near me,( though I think anyone who services computers would be able to evaluate if this is the problem), and they cleaned out the plug area and readjusted the alignment of the thing a ma jig inside the plug hole so that the cord was making good contact. Knock on wood has continued to charge for now. I tend to keep the cord plugged in as much as possible so that I don’t have as many opportunities to push it out of alignment again.
Rocketman is sooo cute. Glad he’s found a home. Most of the time I can’t find what I’m looking for anymore either. If its a pattern or an implement and I’ve looked for awhile, I just end up buying another copy. Whoever cleans out my estate will wonder what the *** I have so many duplicates of everything in the house. I don’t know where you find all these cartoons but they’re fantastic. Who was broadcasting Caitlin playing golf? I see the new collegiate player everyone is raving about is Hannah Hidalgo at Notre Dame. Is Caitlin playing in Napheesa Collier’s winter league? Probably not. Both of Iowa’s team looks promising this year. Just need more broadcasts of them for us folks in the East.
Karen in MD
Karen – so glad to hear about your similar IPad problems. Caitlin is playing in the LPGA Annika ProAm – we get it on the Golf Channel. She has already changed women’s golf! Readers send me the cartoons so I don’t even have to look for them and I love it!! Yes, I’m familiar with Hannah Hidalgo – I’ve watched her and fans will love her. Caitlin has that easy unassuming personality however that cannot be matched. I think the WNBA has a new broadcasting deal that will show more games on the same channel. Last year we had to search for each game! It was annoying. Oh – no Caitlin doesn’t play in any other basketball leagues right now – she’s playing golf!
Your technology story reminds me of my printer fiasco. I had it all at one time. A scanner, printer, fax machine. All working good. Come time to put in a new cartridge. Never could get it to work again! Tried my daughter’s printer, no go. So I just quit. No printer. It’s like they made them incompatible. So frustrating. I have an Apple laptop that I don’t use. It’s either my kindle or my iPhone.
Hope that plug fix works out for you.
Glad Tim stayed around.
Carolyn – I have a relatively new printer, scanner, fax and I can’t get it to work these days and I’m too old and dumb to fix it. Sigh
I’m so happy that Diane in Ohio rescued a sweet cat from the streets. He looks happy.
Kitty pictures always make my day.
I am still searching for a rubber stamp pad I laid down and don’t know where.
Oh, Kathy–I love that last comment. How Do we do that? Stuff disappears all the time around here and no one to blame!! Rocky is really cute and obviously belonged to someone. We’ll miss him, but our grand daughter will love him up:). Snow up your way yet?
I got a chuckle out of your cartoon. I think we have all misplaced things and can’t find them. I hate to move anything to a different place in the house as I will not remember where the new place is. I should write it down if I do it.
A beautiful sunny day here today. Chilly this morning, but suppose to get in the 60’s later. The weather will change this weekend, so we are told.
Have a great day, everyone.
I haven’t chimed in lately…went for stay at Waubonsie State Park down in southwest Iowa. Marvelous! Saw the Northern lights…no pics. Lots and lots of deer, gray squirrels ( my locals are red). Hit a thrift store and saw a COUNTRY THREADS pattern, I think called A House By the Road…pieced and with an embroidered verse. Tempting but I let it stay . Used technology to identify a tree leaf not familiar….chestnut! No cell phone reception! A very relaxing get away. I’m catching up on posts . Hope things work now for you Mary! We’ve all been there!
Rocky is so beautiful, and Tim is also. I thought that was Tim that you showed us yesterday, but you said he was AWOL, so I wasn’t sure if that was him. I’m glad he came back. I’ve been tinkering with a new air fryer that I bought in a church yard sale. So far, I’m pleased with it. I’ve had to read on Youtube and found a good cookbook from Amazon. The chicken tender was tender, and the grilled cheese was good. It is also new technology, and learning new things at my age can be a challenge. Have a great day.
Frances – the last time I saw Tim until a month ago was Feb 22. He was gone – somewhere – for 7-1/2 weeks. He is the sturdiest most muscular cat I’ve ever known. He’s not feral but obviously lives somewhere else when he’s not in my woodshed.
Can’t tell you how good it is to hear others misplace things like I do and how easy it is to do. And I can do it all in the same day, see something I will use later in the day then turn around and can’t find it to save my life. And my sewing “area” is small. I have way to much stuff stuffed in a small space.
Rocky is a hunk. I’ve often thought of fostering but I would end up with a million cats and 800 dogs. I’d be that crazy lady you hear about on the news but my animals would be fat and spoiled.
Tim looks like he rules the roost! I love the smudge on his nose. Blessings!!
I really hate technology problems, they are such a pain in the butt!! Love the pictures of the cats, Tim sure is a cutie. Hope it gets better for you Mary!
Any more it’s dangerous for me to clean my quilt room because if I move something I may never see it again! So frustrating. It must be an old age issue.
Ha! When my room is in a mess of piles, I know exactly which pile things are in. When I clean up and put things in “logical” places I can’t find anything!
Sue – Yes!! I know what you mean
I don’t know if it’s any consolation, but I can totally relate as I do the same things! Lay things places and then can’t find them. So frustrating!!! Technology is wonderful until it isn’t….. I had my own “moment” today — I had put my car windows down a bit as I was returning home….. well, one window wouldn’t go up, wouldn’t go down….. I pressed buttons, etc etc. So frustrated! I called the repair shop and told them I’d be in at 7am for them to look at it, worst case put the window up and I’d make an appointment for them to fix. Was talking to my son on the phone last night and he kept telling me to check the child lock. Of course I kept saying “I didn’t hit that” ……….. well, seems I did! Miracle of all miracles the window is “fixed” 😂😂😂😂. All these bells and whistles…… 🤷🏼♀️ Mary, I sure hope that gave you a bit of a chuckle……
You made me laugh, Lynette! I’m so glad it was the safety button and not what happened to our car. New to us Jeep Grand Cherokee, had it less than a month and one morning the door wouldn’t close after I got in the car… I pulled a few times and it finally did. But, when my husband went to use it the next day it did the same thing, wouldn’t shut. This time the inside handle wouldn’t go back in place. Couldn’t shut the door, he had to drive home from the bank with one hand holding the door shut! After a lot of cussing and maneuvering and buying a few parts my husband was thankfully able to get the door fixed. Turned out to be a broken connection that he was able to replace. I’m so glad he’s handy with cars but so disappointed in Jeep. Jan in MA
Oh, it sure did! I wonder how many times today I called myself stupid – can’t find anything, can’t remember anything, I walk MILES around here from barn to shop to house to wood shed – just checking on everybody constantly. Of course if I needed to do something and my phone was in my hand, I laid it down…..you know what happens next. I walk away and have to repeat the process looking for my phone. Stupid. No wonder I’m so tired.
Loving the cat photos Mary. Regardless of cars and computers, is all well with you?
Tim is such a good looking cat!
