Nobody sent me any new quilt pictures so…
Connie visited a peony farm by Milford – take a look!

And Kathy in NY sent her beautiful iris photos

Fever game just got over – what in the world is wrong with The Fever? With Caitlin? She had 6 points – I can’t understand what has happened. Anybody else have thoughts?

Thanks for the wonderful pictures!!
I’m going to try this again…for some reason,(probably me) my comments don’t post!!
I think the pictures of flowers are as beautiful as the quilts.
The sewing club at school have 9 blankets to donate to local animal shelter. The shelter where my grand dog came from. I think the boys are having as much fun as the girls.
Cross your fingers this goes.
Jo – got it! When we were in 7th grade Rick had to take home etc!
I’ve been loving the quilt show! Beautiful quilts!! Love the peony’s as well. Can
You just go cut your own?!!!
Connie here- no they have a large staff that cuts flowers everyday. They are continually making bouquets. They also sell peonies in pots, ready to plant and in the fall they have bare root varieties that will bloom in the spring. Many, many varieties.
XOXO
Loved seeing the pictures from the peony farm. It would be so wonderful to see so many and all of the differnt colors. I have visited a day lily farm and it was amazing. Loved all of the pictures but was especially happy to see a picture of Mortie. I’ve missed her.
The peonies are wonderful. I have pink, white and red that are blooming right now along with irises. The border lilies are loaded with buds and should bloom this week. Had a nice rain this morning but need more of it. Thanks ladies and Mary for the pictures.
Beautiful peony farm. There is a peony farm like that in Homer, Alaska. Of course, the flowers bloom later in the summer than in Iowa. Just stunning!
Love the goat in the chair! When I was a kid we had a dog that had his own chair. He wanted to get on the other furniture to look out the window but my mother was not having that. She gave him his own chair and he used it and never ever bothered other furniture. He was not supposed to be in the bed with my brother either but he was.
I don’t know what happened to the Fever last night, but they didn’t play well. Caitlin’s shooting was unexplainable. Hope she breaks out of this slump.
Loved the animal photos today. And the peony farm Looked lovely!
Hope everyone enjoys this last day of May. Thanks for the blog, Mary. 🌻
Thanks for the Mortie picture. Love all of today’s pictures
Pictures are beautiful. Our peonies and irises are done for the season in SW Ohio. They were beautiful this year until hard rains took their toll.
I have been doing some finishes for gifts. Need to do cutting prep for a July retreat. Our weather has been so nice that I have been enjoying doing bindings on the porch.
Very much enjoyed the photos today. May is so beautiful as we have cycled through the early spring flowers. This last week the day lilies and tiger lilies have bloomed here in Nebraska—summer begins.
I love peonies and irises!! My peonies are done. They bloom here in early May. I remember my mom’s were always ready by Memorial Day. Great pictures today.
Lovely peony farm photos. My peonies are about to bloom. The irises with the candy tuft in front is beautiful. I enjoyed seeing all of the farm animal photos, too.
Beautiful flowers & cute fur babies. Just as great as quilts!
P.S. Are the beautiful iris yours Mary? And is that candytuft in front of it? Lovely! And wonderful photos of happy dogs and a pensive cat!!!! Loved this blog entry!
Carol,
The iris’s and candy tuft picture are from my house in NY. For some reason my older dwarf irises did not bloom this year but I have a feeling a maple tree is shading the area too much now. They are so hard to dig up but I might have to on a big energy day and move them. I have one gardening friend ! Yup only one who is so knowledgeable in gardening and she believes moving plants around is a year round feat and just does it. I was always a spring and fall replant rule book person before knowing her.
What a treat! The peonies are gorgeous! They do not do well in central Texas, so I never get to see them. These pictures are lovely!
Just got home after being out of the country for a bit, catching up with some great quilt shows! The peony farm looks gorgeous. We have wonderful bulb farms in the Pacific Northwest, but I’ve never seen a peony one. Do you pronounce it PEony or peONy?
In Illinois, we say PE-ony, but I remember some old timers used to say “piney”.
The peony farm would be fabulous to see and visit. I know it would be like a quilt shop….i don’t need any
More peonies but I’ll just look around.. 6 new peony bushes just found a new home!! I love peonies, they are so big, bold, and beautiful. Thank you and Connie for sharing the great pictures.
I just read about this peony farm but it’s a little farm from here for me. Though I’ve also been seeing pictures of the Trolls in Clinton that may entice me to venture down there. I love the fur babies and flowers too. My peonies are not ready yet.
Lovely animals and beautiful quilts and amazing flowers are in a tie for warming the heart. Thanks you for heartwarming!
I watched the game too- brutal. I just don’t get it!
Cindy K – I didn’t even sleep well being so disappointed in the game. I don’t get it either.
I heard people out there saying it is a coaching issue. Alot of theories going around. Something better happen.
