I was too tired to post last night and this morning it’s dark and raining – glad I mowed yesterday. Talk to you tonight.

Well, I missed you last night, but I’m sure glad you got the outside work done so you can be inside today on a dark and stormy day.

    Mary,
Just read three days worth of blog posts. Sometimes I wonder where my days go. I did babysit for my great niece yesterday. We had SO much fun. Played outside with bubble wands and sidewalk chalk. She’s just 2 1/2 and I love when she says, “I need help!” She will say “you’re welcome “ instead of thank you. She’s ever so polite even if she is mixed up!!
Today I picked four cups of raspberries and so made a raspberry and peach pie. It was beautiful and delicious!

My husband got a trailer of compost/top soil to plant grass seed where the wedding tent was. That area is completely brown and dead. We’ll work on that over the next week. We aren’t as fast as we used to be!
I sure enjoyed reading about Minnie. Linda in Saginaw, do you remember the Fashion Square Mall? I remember shopping there in high school. I grew up in the thumb outside of Cass City. Do you know where that is?
Also, to Teresa. I would send a card to Canada, too!
Have a safe and happy Labor Day everyone. 🌻

Thanks for sending us all a quick message! We have had nothing but severe rains day after day here in northern Florida. All 3 of us were so pooped by late afternoon that we splurged on pizza for dinner! Maybe when the weather is more moderate and the temps and humidity have dropped, we will all get lots done without even noticing…Hang in there, Mary!

Elizabeth – we see short weather reports on the national news and it looks bad – everywhere that has received so much rain. So what’s our winter going to be like?

It’s amazing how much you get done in a day! And you’re probably pushing yourself to do as much as you can pre-surgery. I’m sure we all understand if you take time off from the blog but you’re missed.
We’re having our wrap-around deck railing painted, as well as some window trim. It’s been a while and so some boards needed replacing, etc, etc. Things just kind of snowball when you start a project. Hopefully it will be done soon and things can get put away and halfway back to normal! Take care!

Tina – you’re right, I’m trying to get as much done as possible but I know it won’t be enough. Ugh. I’ll be taking my IPad to the hospital with me – remember last November? I remember posting from my hospital
      bed! Haha!!

Sometimes a girl had to do what a girl has to do! Glad you’re taking a rest. We don’t do that often enough. No sewing here but been outside cleaning up flower and garden beds. First to tackle was the blackberry bed that also has day lily’ growing in it. Pulling the weeds and cutting down the lilies. All that will be left then is to rake up the black walnut twigs after they fall. Weeds go into the burn ring so the seeds don’t spread and the lilies go into the compost pile.
More to do tomorrow of course.
We have not gotten much rain here. Just thunder and lightning and the rain goes around us.

Rita – ive been outside this afternoon trying to get rid of some weeds but some are like small trees now – especially in the middle of the pampas grass.

Wish we could get some of your rain here in the NE panhandle, still watering lawn. At least it is cooler. Have a nice day. cl
