Today we are participating in the Martingale blog http://blog.shopmartingale.com/quilting-sewing/5-scraps-or-5-precuts-take-your-pick-in-sew-charming/
Maybe you have some questions about our new book Sew Charming – feel free to put your questions in the comments and I will answer them in another post. Read through our questions and answers on the Martingale blog – maybe we’ve already answered them.
I am sewing my rows together today – how are You doing?
Here’s a teaser to see if you’re reading carefully – Becky and Jenny helped me take pictures of Chicklet when Jenny was home for Thanksgiving. I can’t wait to show them to you but we’ve got lots going on today so I’ll save them for another day. Don’t miss a post in the next few days!
What a great article/interview with Martingale! Great photos too! I’m in Iowa now and will have catch up with the quilt-along when I get home to NC! Somehow that seems backwards doesn’t it? Thanks for adding to my day with your emails!
Pam – what are you doing in Iowa?
Hi Mary
I am in the sewing room ready to sew my blocks together.
I found an old pattern of yours Pine Tree Junction from Second Chance Fabric when I was in California last month. I love it.
Marilyn
Marilyn – wow! Check the copyright on that – I’ll bet it’s late 80’s or early 90’s. Can’t believe anyone would have kept it around!
Great article Mary.
So happy I found you through the Martingale hop! Read through your blog, signed up for emails and now backtracking so I can join this Sew Along! Thank You!!!
Cindy – Welcome! Glad you’re going to join us – it’s an easy project and you can catch up easily!
Mary
It’s here!! My book just came and I love it. There are so many to make. I will try to do the Sew Along:) Thanks, Mary.
I love the new book. You chose beautiful fabric for the quilt along.
Mary, I read the blog entry about you and Connie and your new book early this morning. It looks like a great book to have for those who have lots of scraps and precuts, and a bit of in dedicated yardage. Sad to say, I haven’t been sewing much. Glad to say, my quilt room (and my mother’s sitting room/ bedroom and master bath, and my husband’s music room) is finally under construction. But mom’s stuff, and there’s a lot of it, is stuffed in every available corner of the house! Believe me, we will be filling up that 900 square feet easily! Can’t wait to be set up for sewing! You’re an inspiration…. Like a sewing speed demon-ess! The Speedy Gonzoles of the sewing world! I can’t wait to try some of your projects.
Carol – your renovation/addition sounds fabulous!
If I can figure out how to post photos when it’s all done, I will do that! Your blog readers gave me lots of ideas like more lighting than you think you need, more outlets than you think you need, as many windows as can be, and closets., closets, closet space. Our builder is going to build some great closet space which never made it to the architect’s plan (a man who does not sew!), so I will be in heaven! Someone also suggested a TV and chair corner… I have two of mom’s chairs and her TV, which plays DVDs without a DVD player- so all those quilting videos will get a workout. And mom will have a little sitting area to watch TV while I see. Bliss…
Carol – oh, that sewing room! I can hardly wait to see it! You can send the pics to my email and I can post them for you – when the time comes.
Is the fabric you are using still available? I LOVE the color combination.
I still have your fabric from the quilt shows I attended in Rosemont Ill!
Call me a fabric collector.
Cindie – the fabric I’m using for my Split Squares is from years ago when we had our shop. Pretty much all Moda.
My book just came….it’s beautiful,I want to make them all!! Will catch up to the rest of you but can’t start this week. Thanks for a great book anita fetzer
Your new book is wonderful. I bought an early present for myself and have all of the blocks for the split square sewn and ready. Hope you day is awesome.
Phyllis – you are on the ball! Mine is layered and ready to quilt but I’m really busy today so maybe tomorrow.
