Church was very meaningful this morning – makes me so thankful for the Baby Jesus!
I wanted to share another gorgeous Christmas tree in my friend Launa’s house in snowy Idaho and as she always says – off the grid.
I always visit the barn on Christmas Eve where everybody is sleeping and carols are playing on the radio. It reminds me of that first stable and it becomes a magical place one night a year.
Tomorrow I will post our pattern for January – it’s small and can be made in an evening! Be sure to tune in – everybody will want to make this 10″ x 12″ seasonal mini quilt.
Talk to you tomorrow!
Merry Christmas Mary
Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year in advance – Hope for the best year…Enjoy yourself.
Love your posting of the barn….I wouldn’t want to leave….so warm and cozy. There you couldn’t get any closer to the Birth of Baby Jesus.
Merry Christmas Mary to you and Rick!

Merry Christmas! These barn pictures are so peaceful. I think it would be my favorite place to visit on Christmas Eve as well. We spent it with our grandchildren – six in all! It was chaotic but fun and today will be a quiet day. We will visit our other daughter and her husband over the weekend. Something to look forward to! Can’t wait to see the new pattern! Yikes, you keep us busy Mary! Enjoy the holiday with Rick and your pups. Jan in MA where there is no snow.
Love the pictures. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Merry Christmas! My dad always gave our livestock extra feed on Christmas. That’s one of many memories I cherish from growing up on an IA farm

Oh and I got a new book to read in the new year. It’s a bio of growing up in an Italian American family, divorce, remarriage, life issues, etc , along with her recipes. It’s called Kitchen Yarns by Ann Hood.
Merry Christmas Mary and Rick.
Loved the photos of the barn: indeed magical for that one night!

Merry Christmas Mary from warm & partly sunny Dallas, TX! Love seeing the barn pictures.
Merry Christmas! Today brought back memories of growing up on a farm in KS. many, years ago. My parents always took us out to look for the Christmas Star and to the barn to see all the animals tucked in.
I am now 89 years but can still remember the peace and love I felt. Simple things but so meaningful.
Donna McCormack – my annual trip to the barn on Christmas Eve is worth the trip — Christmas carols playing softly on the radio, chickens sleeping on the roost and goats chewing their cud while they sleep – I imagine this scene with a baby lying in fresh hay in a manger — it is a sacred moment for me.
Your barn pictures made my day. Good health and happiness to you in 2019.
Dear Mary, you are a blessing to your blog followers. I often mention this to friends here in Pennsylvania what a treasure you are. It’s so much fun to be part of your extended family and be connected with so many other special ladies. Your blog is the first thing I look for. Thank you for the time you take to make this possible. Love your many pictures, thanks.
Happy, healthy New Year to you and your followers.
Beautiful photos, Mary. It’s my first quiet time since mid December, I think. I love the mood of your photos… all is calm, all is bright…
Happy holiday wishes to you and all you love.
