I’m sorry, gals, that’s all I got tonight.
We left SC this morning and are headed to Naples, Florida for our 3 week Easter Vacation. My daughter Becky, spends the winter in their home in Bonita Springs which is only 4 miles from the condo we are renting from a good friend of hers. It has a private pool and is on the beach with an outside balcony overlooking everything. Guess where I plan to park my butt and catch up on some reading. I also brought my sewing machine and a few SMALL Easter projects. Will let you know what I get up to over the next few weeks.
Barbara – oh, does that sound lovely!!! Tell me what books you brought along
Mary, I’m reading a 3 book series of a Southern hometown lawyer who returns home to Beaufort. SC. This is a beautiful spot in the south which I love to visit. It’s a legal thriller. Author: Peter O’Mahoney. Books 1.) Reckoning Hour 2.) Fatal Verdict 3.) Buried Lies. Reading this series makes me want to sit back and sip a Sweet Tea with a little additive! Hehe.
Ha! Laughed out loud at the chicken quilt! And took inspiration from the piano keys and strips quilts for LWR. I’m gathering pinks to do Mary’s star quilt. Might throw in a few soft greens and blues, too.
Does Hazel ride out to the grove with you? Or does she run off down the path to get to the mud first. What a character!
I need to check my collection of vintage greeting cards to see if I have anything special for Diane. I hope I have one of the glittery 1950’s get well cards left. Life needs a little glitter now and then!
Stay well, everyone. Kris in WI
Kris – the whole idea of going on the wilderness trail is to get Hazel some exercise but then she hops on the cart and rides!!!! She gets off when there’s something interesting like mud. Ha!!
I totally love that chicken quilt! So cute!
It’s been a nice day. Tomorrow will be in the 70s and then colder again. Yo-yo!
Tomorrow we go for jays eye shots for macular degeneration. We Ryan to go late in the day rather than ruining his whole day. After the shots he’s pretty done with everything!
You guys enjoy your games,
What a wonderful chicken quilt, I love the Buggy Barn patterns, so whimsical. Spring may have arrived in central Wisconsin. Today we are hitting 50 and most of the snow is gone, robins are here. I keep watching for some spring flowers to bloom. Went to 2 new to me quilt shops yesterday and enjoyed them both. A guild member went with, and we both stimulated the economy, lol. Going to try my hand at making sourdough bagels today, wish me luck. I’ve been baking sourdough bread this winter, which we have both enjoyed.
Good Morning! Thanks for the compliments on my quilt “Chicks In The Garden”. It is a Buggy Barn pattern from the book “Crazy Favorite Things”. Not paper pieced. The fabric is stacked, then rotary cut. A large wall hanging at 55”x66”. I enjoyed doing the interpretive quilting on this quilt. A good excuse for me to try new things. Happy Quilting!
Sue in MN, what is the name of the chicken and flower pattern quilt? I love it 😍!
Thank you
Hi Mary,
Yes to enjoy your basket ball. I can’t wait for baseball to start again. Especially San Diego Padres! It’s so fun to watch with my husband and cheer along. I get it. Hi to Hazel.
We are in between winter and spring and days seem long. I sometimes wish my days were longer.
The quilts were great. Enjoy your games and don’t worry about no sewing or wasted time, Mary. We only go around once.
Sue’s chicken quilt is so cute! Several readers asked about it so I’ll check back to read more about it.
Sue from MN – I love your quilt! I’m sure it took a long time to make as I’m sure it is paper pieced. All the other quilts are great as well.
Sad for the Iowa girls that they lost their game yesterday in double overtime. They would have won if they had made more of their free throws. Oh well, they will be better next year. They have had a great year.
Jeanine – are you familiar with Buggy Barn’s cutting technique? It’s not paper pieced but a layered cutting technique – it’s very fun!!
Mary – No, I have not heard about that. Might have to check it out. Not that I need another project!
Jeanine – of course you need another project!! You’ll love it!
The Easter quilt is adorable!
What a great way to use up leftover fabric scraps—love those quilts!
I am glad the games have been exciting and entertaining, Mary. I know how much you enjoy this tournament.
Thanks/Take Care
Oh my goodness, what fun quilts today! Love the chocolate bunny and the chickens and blooms!
Nice readers quilts! I have been silently cursing your buddy Connie every day ( ha ha) as I trim my 64 log cabin blocks from your pattern Sea Glass Stars that was in Scrap School book. I’m sure hers look much better than my blocks and I’m glad I decided to make this but it’s been a journey! . I do a few each day and gosh I realized I’m not a straight log cabin piecer. I know I have to spend the time trimming them before I start the sashing on this long overdo UFO that went on my DD list each year. I do love the lime greens and teal fabrics I used but now I’m overrun with all the strings and scrap baskets so time to finally finish this and clean up my sewing space of these strips. When you’re done looking at it, you know it’s time to finish it or set it away and it was put in time out far too long.
Great quilts! Sue, is your quilt a Buggy Barn pattern? It’s so cute. I really like it. Have a great day everyone. Apparently we are in for a huge windstorm tomorrow, we shall see I guess.
Mary. Every post is a treat! How’s your bracket? Love your
Posts! Keep up the good work!
