See what happens when I don’t keep up with photos! Three posts!!!
Beverly in Blanchester, I’m staying at Lake Lorelei right now, but live in Maineville. I’m pet sitting with one of the two white pups in the picture. I’m enjoying all the sewing room pictures, too. I’ll share pictures of mine when I get home. In the meantime I have a small sewing room set up on the dining room table overlooking the lake here. Farmer Tim’s grands are adorable! Hoping you get a call very soon from the Mayo, Mary!
It was good to read you are feeling better and received so many cards and well wishes.
Visiting sewing rooms has been fun. I looked at the photos several times.
Really loved seeing all of these wonderful pictures of sewing rooms. Kudos to the folks who told it like it was, fabric stacks everywhere. LOL. Cheryl in Arkansas, I wish you were closer and I’d share my sewing room with you. 6 x 9 feet is not enough for me to even think about sewing. Of course, I believe my room to be small, but only because there’s too much stuff in it.
Nora and the chicken, now that is too cute. It’s nice to get an update on the Monarchs.
So glad you’re doing better Mary. San / Murphy, NC / It is cooling off at night and we’re finally getting some rain.
Good day Mary and followers! I took my granddaughter to the senior center today so we could listen to a speaker, Doug Ohman, talk about Libraries in Minnesota! It was a great program! He has many topics and even more books that he has written plus he has done shows for our local PBS tv station Pioneer TV in Granite Falls MN. Postcards is what it is called. I have quite a few of his books. Barns, State Parks, Libraries, etc. after the program my granddaughter and I went to check one of the trails to check up on t he bluebirds. One nest had all three fledge, so in the last 6 days it was time for them fo fledge! The nestbox is cleaned out now. We checked all 12 nestboxes, one has tree swallows and they should fledge soon, and the bluebirds have grown so much since last Wednesday as well! Soon I will get the fabric to make a quilt block for the MN Master Naturalists’20 year anniversary quilt. I am so anxious to do this! Then I will work on more UFO’s. Larry is getting along quite well, he wears the custom fitted sleeve, and he will no doubt have to wear this for at least a year,..they say well, for sure 6 months, ideally a year. Our bodies are incredible healing machines. (Bet I have said this before!). Mary, this waiting game thing is no fun and certainly isn’t for sissies. I waited about 2 weeks last December to see hematology but I was not in pain. This wonderful medical facility is like no other, it deserves the accolades, but hard to wait for an appointment.
So the 3 dogs on the bed are my rescue poodles that travel in my motorhome with me. Mary, I sent you that picture months ago and it is so funny that it turned up now. I’m envious of all those pictures of large sewing rooms and so organized. So much easier to find what you are looking for.
The picture before the dogs is the booth in my RV which is my sewing room for the next 9 months while I will be traveling. I gathered and organized easy projects to take along with me.
I am frustrated for you with the lack of response from the medical community. I pray you get some encouraging news soon Mary.
Pattie – I loved the picture of the poodles! It arrived with the pictures of your sewing area in your RV. What are their names?
They are in the picture but very small. The little toy is Lily, the white one is Samantha and the apricot is Lucas.
So good hear from Pattie on the road…..I hope your rescues are still happening.
Happy to know you have a sewing spot in your new motor home! And pets to cuddle with on your bed.
Pattie, I enjoy reading of your “travel adventures” and traveling dogs. I will admit in my opinion that you are brave and know your way around the RV. So “safe travels” and a show and tell with the sewing. Helen J (Tx)
I’m enjoying seeing the sewing rooms. The kids with the chickens are so cute too. We are preparing for my sons wedding this Saturday. My son and I are doing the flowers and I’m making their wedding cake. The flowers are more stressful to me than the cake as I’ve made a wedding cake before and did a practise cake to ensure I would make what they envisioned. No sewing for the last two weeks, after the wedding we are going away for three days to rest. When we return I will get to sew.
Teresa – we would love to see pictures!! You deserve a rest and I’m not sure 3 days is enough!!!
Love all the pictures of sewing spaces. I still need to set my space since moving and there is lots of inspirations and ideas in all those pictures. Everyone has such clever ideas on how to store fabric, rulers, textile collections and using their spaces. Love it! Tims grandkids are super sweet and how nice to come and visit your chickens. Hope you are feeling better with each passing day and that you hear back from Mayo soon. Lots of adds to click on today.
Good Morning Mary, Glad to hear you have your pain under control. I sure would think you would be getting the pathology report from the hospital you had the needle biopsy. They probably sent the biopsy to the Mayo lab and have not received an answer. I know it can take some time to do the testing on the biopsies and if it is questionable they send slides to others for conformation and addition readings. This is a lack of communication with your hospital and Dr. performing and ordering the biopsy. Makes me so sad, mad, or worse. We have to believe in the medical system, we are at their mercy.
I sure enjoyed seeing all the quilts and sewing spaces. Farmer Tim’s grands are adorable! You take such nice pictures. Thank you
Mary,
You are in my thoughts & hope you get some good news soon! So hard waiting to hear….
Love all the sewing rooms pictures 🙂
The pictures of the chickens with Farmer Tim’s grandkids were priceless 🙂
Take care,
Sandy in Indiana
Enjoy all the sewing rooms, we all love our sewing & quilting time, it sure is fun creating & it keeps our minds & hands busy !
I have a friend that is going through a similar situation. She sent the hospital copies of her scan & said they didn’t get them. She was supposed to have a FaceTime call with her Dr. at 3:00, it never happened until 5:00, so frustrating. I’m hoping you hear something soon. It’s just a shame to leave you hanging like that!!
Hoping you get some answers soon – waiting is the hardest part. Love the photo of the three dogs, they seem to enjoy each others company. Hope Hazel is behaving herself for you. Keeping you in thought & prayers.
Hi Mary,
Hoping your get some answers soon. Love seeing everyone’s sewing rooms. Lots of great ideas, and it’s nice to know many are stuffed full like mine!
Thinking of you.
Kim in N IL
What a treat to see all the photos, Mary! The sewing rooms are filled with ideas and special treasures. Thanks to all who sent the pics.
Farmer Tim’s grandchildren are precious….wonderful photo with your chickens.
Prayers will continue for you and hope you get some medical answers soon.
Mary,
I am so sorry for the medical issues you are currently going through and pray answers will come soon. Stay strong!
I so love the pictures of sewing areas and dogs! My own is unavailable for viewing as it is currently at its worst!
I do hope you feel a little better each day.
Jill – remember these pictures are posted anonymously – take a picture and send it. I’ll bet 99% of us can identify! I will not print your name!!
Mary, I sure hope you get some answers, soon. Glad you are able to control the pain. I know this has to be very frustrating for you.
Thanks for sharing all of the pictures.
Gosh I get to post today! I just love seeing the pics of everyone’s quilt rooms. Lots of ideas there.
Mary I think what is happening in the medical community is shameful. I believe I would contact the administrator of the hospital and share your awful treatment with them. Then I would contact the local news station and make them aware of your situation. Really someone needs to address the source of what is going on with your health.
You’re amazing, Mary! You are cheering all of us with the wonderfully creative and inspiring pictures of all of our favorite things — quilts and collections and chickens and pets on quilts and adorable children and fabulously overflowing sewing rooms — when we are wanting to cheer you up! We’re praying for your comfort and healing and for just a little of the happiness that you have spread to return to you multiplied.’
We have lived all of the world and all over the country in many different kinds of homes, and I have always found a corner to use for my sewing projects. The most memorable one was a shaky old table in a corner of the bedroom in Japan; when I turned the sewing machine on, that little table would shake and wobble. I would be trying to hold the fabric under the needle while the needle was wandering all over and my knees were pushing the table against the wall. It was Exercise and Sewing all at once. In another house, we had no extra space except an odd countertop in the bathroom with a couple of drawers underneath. So, I sewed standing up in the bathroom. When someone needed to use the bathroom, I had to pause what I was doing! LOL I guess that we can call that a dedication to craft!
Susan – I loved your comment! Don’t we all remember finding a space to have a sewing area? I know the feelings you described cause I’ve had a tiny laundry room in first apartment that I put a desk in and made Barbie clothes for extra money and now I took over 2 bedrooms as kids went off to college! I sure could use a whole large room addition now but it won’t happen.
Hi Mary, the little girl Nora reminds me of photos of me as a toddler.,! Possibly an idea for another reader participating activity! Nice to see other sewing rooms, this is the first email that l have been able to reply to for a couple of days, so now time to look at the other ones, Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
So glad to have the blog and all the pictures, I don’t think anyone minds having 3 posts! I love seeing all the storage ideas and the way people display their things. So interesting! And now I’m going to start looking for a baby changing table to use for an ironing station. Brilliant!
Sure hope you hear from Mayo soon…waiting is the worst!
All of the sewing rooms and quilts from the last few posts have been great. And your visitors are adorable. Praying you get good news soon.
Such fun to see all the photos of everyone’s sewing rooms!
I hope seeing them and posting helps take your mind off all the hassle and pain you are going through… Mary, you continue to be in our prayers!
Adorable photos of kiddies and chicks. The girl’s hair matches the chicken…all blonds! Too, too cute.
And more sewing rooms!
Wonderful.
Those little children are so cute. And the chickens …pretty.
I’m loving everyone’s rooms. I especially love everybody’s stuff. I just love stuff.
