I m so enjoying meeting your wonderful cats – ginger, orange, tabby, spotted, tuxedo, gray – all of them. The cat subject brought me the sweetest surprise this morning. I received an email with a reader’s two cats from……Switzerland! WHAT???? Thank you, Josette! I am thrilled you read my blog in Switzerland – I am shocked and grateful all at the same time.
I also touched base with a friend in…..Tasmania! This blows my mind. This gal attended Quilt Market in Minneapolis years ago and rented a car to drive two hours to the farm. I am lucky to have so many resources at my fingertips.
It’s been a crazy day – I helped Hank’s mom layer a baby quilt with minkie which I have no experience with but I think we got it nailed down very flat. She quilted it tonight and she will now be making minkie backed baby quilts for the new babies in her life.

And this succulent is also going to bloom!

I am in distress tonight and finding it hard to go to bed. I have been searching outside for hours this evening because only 4 geese out of 5 were at the barn tonight. Where is the 5th goose???? And it’s so cold and windy. 🙁

I love seeing all the cats! I guess I’m the one who started it all with Oliver! He’s such a card! I’m a sucker for calicos and tiger stripes too but even with 10 cats I don’t have a tiger stripe.
That log cabin quilt is so pretty. I’m trying to finish a couple books then into my sewing room to start number 12 unfinished project
What a great way to use up that pile of scraps. I need to start using more up as well. This past weekend I’ve used up four fabrics in my stash, one will bind a quilt and three for the little doll blanket I made for my granddaughter’s doll. She loves to wrap them in blankets and pat their backs. I made it from the two leftover fabrics from her coat I made her and another from my stash. Small victory but a victory.
Mary, It’s too bad about the goose, however, they have been unfriendly, so maybe this is a way to ease some of your work. What I’m really saying is for you to not stress too much and hopefully all will work out.
Have a good day everyone.
I went out to feed my kitties this morning and the wild geese in the river were chatting up a storm. Loud wasn’t the word. And I had to look twice at the pineapple upside down cake see the kittie. And I have one of those window boxes, didn’t realize that was why I wasn’t putting it up! Yeah it’s cold here but warming up tomorrow.
Thanks continuing the cat photos
Oh dear! I hope your goose will be OK. I’m thinking about all the lives you are responsible for – dogs, cats, chickens, geese, parakeet, goats, and Rick and yourself! At bedtime, you must feel like Noah as the sky grew dark and the first raindrops were falling. Is everybody aboard?
Thanks for all the photos – cats and quilts and plants – and for this community.
Dot – I swear I live with anxiety 24/7 because of all those reasons you just listed. I don’t want it differently exactly but there are days like yesterday that are overwhelming. Is it any wonder I can’t sleep? Home from church and still looking for the goose. No sign. I do not understand.
Love all the pictures today, and every day. Will be worrying about the MIA goose all day, hope it’s in a safe place. Agree with the cat distribution system, I’m convinced Morti is one of your previous cats reincarnated. She just fit in seamlessly from the get go.
Thank you Angie for the early belly laugh. As a fellow senior living resident I agree and add that a bonus would be someone who showers and has a belt that actually holds up their pants. I see more cracks inside this facility than in the sidewalk outside!
Happy Sunday everyone!
Jamie – haha! You “crack” me up!!!!!
Oh No Mary. So sorry to hear about your goose gone missing. I hope it is just huddled down some place. Please keep us informed.
Cold here again today. Sunny right now. Yesterday was a sewing room day! I got another quilt project cut. I am going to a friend’s house for a retreat. Just 3-4 of us. We do it every January. I doubt I even dig into it but I needed another project ready to sew.
I hope your stray goose 🪿 came home! Your plants are pretty. I enjoyed seeing everyone’s kitty pictures and sent a new one of Penny and Lucy. Minky on the back of a quilt is heaven 😻.
Sorry about your “lost” goose. The weather must confuse them.
I know you are tired of football but that was an exciting end to the Bears-Green Bay Packers game.
I’m looking forward to the Indiana- Miami game on January 19th. CFP final.
Today I’m rooting for the Bills, the 49ers, and New England. I’m all over the place, but I have fun all by myself lonesome.
Carolyn – I’ll be watching today anyway with a nap thrown in – I love Sunday afternoon naps!
So fun to see everyone’s kitties! I really like the receipt quilts, I’m thinking they are made using the receipt tapes from cash registers that are not much in use anymore. That made me remember I picked up a couple of rolls at a thrift store and I packed them away somewhere, time to find them and give a receipt quilt a try! I hope you find that Fifth geese this morning safe and sound!
I hope you find the goise. They are pretty. I loved Diana’s comment, too. One hint with Minkee. I make small “lovues” out of it and it really helps to wash it first. Washing cuts down on all the “ fur” flying around! The kitties are so much fun to see. Our first kitty to appear anywhere was Spike in the Goat Gazette. That goes WAY back😸😸. Everyone here tiday to celebrate youngest grandson’s 22nd bday😍. And, GO BILLS!!
H Mary – love the cat photos. Don’t cats and quilts just go together?!
We all have the crud going around. Elliott has an ear infection, and Leah and I have the sniffles.
Sewed with my church ladies yesterday,. Well that is an overstatement. I pulled fabric for backings, cut batting for 3 donation quilts, then sat and chatted. Not much was accomplished, but it was still a great morning spent with fellow quilters.
Sure hope goosey goose is found today.
Just love all of the cat pictures. I especially love the cat in the window box. I just love how cats worm their way into any type of box that’s laying around, many just put down for a minute in preparation for use. So darn cute. And the note about homemade gifts.spot on for many things I’ve made!!!!! I hope you find your 5th goose. So much pleasure and worries with your farm animals. We are having a bit of a January thaw here in NH.
You are so kind to publish our precious kitties – thank you. I see that there is another ginger boy named Jack, like mine. 😀 I fervently hope you found your goose.
With everything Else a loose goose hope you find it ok. I am always amazed at the weather each year wouldn’t you think at 76 I would be used to the changes. The cat gallery is wonderful and am trying to figure out how to add mine. Again you would think at my age I would figure it out .
Well today my friend and I are going to have our Tarot cards read. I have never had it done and it is for fun but it is a little exciting. Wish me luck. Do you think there is a tall dark stranger in my future? I live in a retirement community and here they don’t wish for a tall dark stranger but someone who can drive at night and has a walker that collapses easily. Our standards have really changed
Oh Angie, you had me laughing out loud this morning! I had to read your comment to my husband. It was that good.
Very funny!😆 Yes, priorities have changed!🤭
Angie, you are so right! And you made me laugh outloud!
Angie, you are too funny! I also had to read this to my husband.
Mary, I hope your goose shows up. I don’t envy you the anxiety you are feeling about it right now.
Thanks Mary for showing off my lovely cat. They are all beautiful!
Hi Mary, lovely to see the cats, sorry your goose has not come inside, l hope it has found some where safe for the night.Very windy again today, terrible bush fires in Australia, what has happened to the weather? Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
Hopefully you will find the 5th goose when daylight returns.
