My idea of numbering the photos is a good one but right now I’m so far behind and I’ll have to okay catch up by posting lots of pictures.
More clean up today but I did get to mow almost everything.
From this

To this today

For two days Hazel has been digging under the shed after something. This was last night:

This is tonight – again!

The bath water!

I put cement blocks in front of the shed – let’s see if she can dig thru those!!
Reader photos – not numbered.

The butterfly photos and the birds are from Ann in PA – aren’t they wonderful! I wonder if she’s a professional photographer.

More to follow in second post.

Great pictures once again. Ann your pictures are wonderful. As I was packing up things this morning, I wrapped up my tri-pod and thought, to myself I need to bring this out and my real camera and start taking pictures. Yes phones work, but I have a zoom lens as well, and a real camera is nicer than a phone. Thank you for inspiring me.
I was fortunate to see Teresa’s Trail Mix quilt in person—it is fantastic (and so is Teresa). There is a pink chicken clock patch in her quilt—so quirky— have fun zooming in to find it if you like. I think she said the quilt has 180 blocks (!!). All the other pics and quilts are nice, too—such a talented bunch. Wondering what Hazel’s next adventure will be…
Oh Hazel! That bath water looked nasty! A friend, Sam, who often visited our Hawk Watch during fall migration always brought his Fox Terrier, Molly. He used to say, “You don’t train Fox Terriers, you negotiate!” I love that one. They are tiny but tough and stubborn, too.
Mary, you really made fast work of that debris from the wind storm.
All the quilts are great. Those flowers are so pretty & that cactus is huge! Thank you for sharing the garden seat and wagon is a game saver for those of us who aren’t as limber as we once were.
What a beautiful needle case! The stitching is gorgeous and the colors so lovely and delicate. I had that same lovely floral fabric used for the inside.
Thank you for all the compliments on my photos. You are all very kind! No, I’m not a professional photographer. I have a Canon EOS Rebel T1i; the lens I use most is 55-250mm. (it’s an older version that came as a kit with an 18-55mm lens, for close-ups and people photos. I hardly use it since cell phones take decent people photos) I would love to have a better zoom but they are very expensive. I mostly use Sports Mode because of movement from wind, butterflies and birds. I’ve been replacing a lot of invasive plants and trees with those native to SE PA. We don’t use herbicides or pesticides so there is plenty of food, nesting and protection for birds & butterflies that allows many opportunities for photos.
How cute is that Pet of the Month!
That naughty Hazel! Your yard looks great now; I can’t imagine how much work that was and how exhausted you must be.
The pictures are all lovely. The cross stitched needle case looks so delicate and those butterfly pictures are stunning. Thanks for sharing them.
The butterflies/flower photos are beautiful!
I know you feel a sense of accomplishment, even with the aches. What a difference your work has made! We had straight line winds go through our area in 1998, causing so many trees to break. We got our yard cleaned up and then moved on to help the neighbors. And that is what neighbors do – help each other. Take care of yourself and remember to pace yourself. It will still be there tomorrow.
Hazel, Hazel, Hazel! 🤣 She is such a character! She definitely keeps you on your toes!
Ann, the photos are stunning! Do you do professional photography? Thanks for sharing 🥰
And those baby squirrels – absolutely too cute! And Zoey brought a smile to my face.
Again another wonderful photo show!
Kelli – like I told Rick “it’s always something with her!” He then replies “she’s a terrier!” Sigh. she’s not gonna grow out of this sort of stuff.
What a difference in the before and after pictures of your yard. A lot of work and bending over went into that clean up. We just arrived in Vermont and have a lot of sticks and debris to clean up in our yard, but i won’t complain because it is nothing compared to to what you are dealing with. That Hazel is really something! She must get baths almost daily. Beautiful pictures today of flowers and butterflies.
Mary your yard is looking better already, I know the grove and all those trees are still a mess but there is progress. That Hazel is a mess and two days in a row. Good thing she lives with someone who loves her and doesn’t mind keeping her clean. I wonder what she will think of your cement blocks. Lots of great photos, and those flowers are stunning.
Hi Mary, didn’t recognize Hazel! Thought it was someone else’s Grey dog,she is a little monkey! Beautiful photos of butterflies etc, l watch the mindful narrow boat, traveling English canals and seeing the birds and insects she photographed, then sketches. A lot of work tidying up after a storm, and l moan about picking up a few things after my grandchildren visit! Take care everyone, best wishes from Sandy
Ann, your butterfly and flower photos are stunning. Are you a professional photographer? What kind of camera are the photos taken with? Once again photos of beautiful quilts to enjoy. My, my, Hazel is a mess! I’m betting that she’ll start digging under the cement blocks. Mary, your yard looks nice. You’ve worked hard to clean up all of the branches and sticks.
So many great pictures tonight. I read the 2nd one first. It’s been a couple hard days here with the storm damage. I didn’t have any, but everyone else I know did. I’m old, I’m just going to make donations to groups that need the funds for clean up. The cemetery will have expenses to fix the brick entrance gates, and pay for limb pickup. The city wasn’t going to offer limb pickup, but found that was truly an unpopular move. They are mostly picking them up from the side of the road, very few people needed help with getting their limbs there. Our shade patterns have changed, so many old growth trees gone. Thanks for the pick me up.
