Picturesque setting for the blue heron.
I enjoy viewing all the photos but oh my the owl quilt especially connects with me. Very very nice.
I made that one! It’s a gift for a friend who is getting married at a nature center. The back is flannel. Patty T- Cincinnati, Ohio
Those pictures of the butterflies & birds are wonderful. That rose is stunning & the other flowers aren’t too shabby either. I have a few blocks made for a trail mix quilt & that finished one is inspirational. I showed those pictures of Hazel to Tom & he said it looks like she has work to do. Your yard looks great after all that hard work. It’s finally cooling off here but no rain for my garden & plants so I’m to water.
As usual, I have gotten inspired by this post. The owl quilt helps me better picture how to use panels in a quilt, as I have tended to shy away from panels. Mary, your creativity taken from nature’s colors (and your pots) prompted me to dig into my scrap stash because I have some of those same colors. Whatever I make won’t be big, but colorful.
Hazel, Hazel, Hazel – such energy.

Thanks for sharing all of the wonderful photos!
Hello Mary, You did good getting the yard cleaned up. All the pictures are fantastic. Lovely quilts. Beautiful butterfly pictures from Ann. And the Tilda quilt has beautiful colors. And the garden pictures are outstanding.
My granddaughter and her cat are living with me. Oh, I’ve never seen a cat like this. He’s a male cat who can’t tire of exploring. He’s on the table and kitchen counters. That’s not so bad, but he likes to push things onto the floor. Like a bowl or a cup. I also have to put the blinds way up because he likes to mess with those, too. I can’t imagine having as many cats as you do! This one keeps me hopping. He also likes to hide around the corner and swipe at the dog as he goes by. He’s been in the dog’s face swiping, too. Poor Buster doesn’t want to fight, he wants to play. Surprises me. Keeps life interesting, I guess.
Carolyn – the cat must be young – mu cats just lay around but they’re old. He’s a mischievous one it sounds like. All those things he does would make a great children’s book – kids would love it!
Gus the cat is four years old and Buster the dog is eleven!! That must be it. Plus Gus is used to being home alone all day while my granddaughter works, so he is not trained well.
The pictures are just so wonderful to look at and see what others have accomplished both indoors and out. I love summer and all the color that it blesses us with. Thanks everyone for sharing.
I loved seeing all those gorgeous flowers and the yellow lily is huge! The owl quilt is a nice use of those panel blocks, and the Tilda duck quilt looks complicated. Our air quality here has been in the dangerous zone the past few days from the Canadian wildfires, I hope it moves on for the weekend. We have plans to help our daughter with some yard projects and I won’t go out if the air doesn’t improve. It’s been hazy and humid here and we need a few nice days.
Karla, what pattern did you use for the lovely duck quilt? I enjoyed all the photos tonight.
Hi Martha~ I used the pattern “Duck Quilt” from the book Quilts from Tilda’s Studio.
Thanks for your kind comments ~ Karla
Karla…is that a Tilda quilt?
All the pictures are so pretty today. The boneless chicken made me laugh too.
Flowers, butterflies, quilts and birds. All gorgeous.
Mary, you have worked so hard on your farm. That wind storm devastation is heartbreaking. It makes you want to give up.
Thankfully Hazel is ok having a bath. She does love to find the mud to dig in.
Yes, Jo! It IS a Tilda quilt😉.. you have a good eye!
I’m so sorry about all the trees you’ve lost. Your yard before and after looks so good!
Love all the pictures and the boneless skinless chickens made me lol.
