The quilts are all beautiful. I don’t have a photo of my first quilt. It was a sampler done in fall colors. I never finished it and it got tossed somewhere along the way. I wish I had, my teacher was Bev Child and she was a wonderful teacher. I do still have fabric that I used! It’s been put in many projects since then. Beautiful day today, yesterday we had some much needed rain. Jan in MA

Wonderful photos shared. You have the best readers Mary. So nice to show how far we come.

Awesome quilts!!!
Glad harvest is progressing in your area – things are going well in the department here too, although we had quite a bit of rain yesterday – things will have to dry out just a bit again.
I LOVE the meme about the brain – I’m there!!!

Great photos today.
There is a nip in the air. Waiting for more color!

WOW! All of the quilts today are awesome! I love the two different color ways in Sheryl’s. The others are all stunning.
Google must have read the cute joke because most of my ads today were for Emtional Freedom Therapy!!! Hilarious. As I get older, the filters get smaller😹😹. Rain most of the day yesterday, but sunny and cool today. With the rain, the leaves are turning instead of being brown and dropping. Much prettier.

I agree that Google has been looking over my shoulder when I read Mary’s blog too. Today, 1 of my adds was for a book titled “How Not to Become an Old Lady”. Uh…. Too late!

Beautiful quilt pix today! We finally got some rain yesterday along with fall temperatures, yay! It won’t take us completely out of our drought status but at least it’s not as severe. BTW, instead of ads for shoes, clothing, etc. I’m now getting ads for farm equipment! Chicken processing machines, silage covers, etc.! How the heck do the ad algorithms work, anyway? 😂😂😂

I’ve been watching the corn come down in my neck of the woods too. So many pretty quilts, love your Autumn Leaves.

Such a beautiful quilt today.

Mary, is the first photo of the fall setting and leaf wall hanging yours? Is so can I order that pattern?
We had a touch of winter on Saturday morning. It was a white-out snow storm for a couple of hours. Then the fall weather returned after that. I’ve been busy sorting and downsizing my wardrobe.
We had a wonderful trip to Yellowstone National Park last week. We observed bison, deer, elk, grizzly bears, wolves, swans, and a coyote.

Martha – yes, it’s a Country Threads pattern – I think it’s just called Maple leaf. Yes, you can order it – I’ll check on the name and post it

Mary I really like that maple leaf quilt. I guess because I am Canadian I always like them. I made a quilt with reproduction fabrics which had maple leaves I will find a picture and send it. It’s called Scattered Leaves.

The third picture from the top was made by Robin (Ruth) Long who was the featured quilter at the Washington State Quilters show in Spokane, WA. She developed rulers for easily making a Mariners Compass.

The second quilt picture is my first quilt that I made. It is different blocks from several years of piece makers calendar quilts. I decided to choose the blocks I liked from different years. I was taught to quilt by the secretary at my son’s elementary school. Alice was amazing at hand appliqué and taught me, funny thing was I told her only crazy people made hand appliquéd quilts. When I was done she said I had to hand quilt it. I told her she was crazy again. She taught me how to hand quilt as well. This quilt took me 3.5 years to complete. I still have it and hang it on the wall from time to time. Some of the fabrics I chose faded quite a bit. So as I said to Mary, I guess I am a crazy quilter.

Teresa, you did a great job! I am impressed by your perseverance and ambition–especially for a first quilt! I have a Piecemaker’s calendar that I would love to make a quilt from, but I am not a ‘crazy hand applique person’ — haha.

Sara – me either. she has my respect!!

Thank you Sara and thank you Mary. As I said Alice is a wonderful teacher and just kept encouraging me all along the way. I still love hand appliqué but unfortunately the arthritis in my hands don’t. The amazing thing about this quilt is that I can tell which square I began hand quilting because the stitches were larger and how much smaller they got as I continued. Alice always said it didn’t matter how big the stitches were, just make them even and eventually they will get smaller. She was right. She is still inspiring people to learn to quilt.
