There’s been so much interest in the Christmas Tree quilt and I don’t know who sent me the picture – as soon as I post these projects I just have to delete emails and photos. As it is I have almost 5000 photos on my IPad!
I can tell by the number of orders I’ve received in the mail that you all have jelly rolls on hand and need to make a quilt! If you have two jelly rolls that somewhat coordinate, use both of them and combine one strip from one jelly roll and the other from the second jelly roll – you will not be faced with duplicates or the same print in every color falling together. You’ll like it!
This is what I’m working on – has anyone made our pattern Good News?

Of course we made it in our old dark palette but here it is tonight!

It’s just so pretty!
Here’s what Connie is working on.

Both of these patterns will be available by mail and online in the store when we are finished with them.
It was almost 40 degrees today but was so windy from the southeast that it did not feel warm at all. Molly visited us for a couple hours and we trekked over 2 miles through the grove. I sent her home tired! And then I started up the golf cart – Old Faithful has sat outside all winter and still it started right up. I drove it to the barn and then to the woodshed. It’s not much to look at but it is a workhorse!

Still watching Olympics but I am sick of snowboarding!!!
On February 18 Mrs. Maisel Season 4 will be on Prime Video. I can’t wait! I’m going to watch the previous seasons so I get back into the story because I loved it!
I don’t think there’s anything new here. Back to the sewing machine!
LOVE the make-overs of your quilt patterns!!!!
Have my jelly rolls ready in anticipation of receiving the pattern. Can’t wait to see this Friday’s one.
Actually I love that dark color palette because it makes the little light colored pin wheels stand out so strongly. It’s a miracle that the golf cart started up in mid winter after how cold it’s been in Iowa. Yes, I plan to order the jelly roll pattern and buy a couple of jelly rolls to make it. Just what I need—some more fabric! I agree—enough snowboarding already! But, what daring and talented women doing it.
I love Mrs. Maisel, too! A good series to watch for something other than football or the Olympics. Happy sewing!
I’m waiting to see what the Friday pattern is before I order the jelly roll one. Don’t worry, I have a few other projects to work on!!! So much controversy today regarding women’s figure skating is a bit disturbing!!! But I’m still watching.
Love the quilts that you and Connie are working on! I don’t have a jelly roll but will be looking for a couple to make that beautiful jelly roll quilt. I wish we had flatter land, I would love to have a golf cart to tool around in! But there’s quite a slope here and it just wouldn’t work out. I love that yours started right up! We have an 8N Ford from the 50’s and always cross our fingers that it will start when it’s needed. Cold here, around 5 degrees this morning but the next few days are supposed to be warmer! Yay! Jan in MA
I love both of the pastel/lighter palate quilt pattern “remakes”. What a difference color changes make ! Sounds like a fun day on your farm. We are predicted to get 6”-9” of new snow here on Thursday. Fingers crossed that the weather people are wrong.
We run around our place in a golf cart during warmer months and it works great to haul leaves from the trees to the recycling center across the street.
Always dependable but we have had too much snow to use it now.
Love the softer color palettes in the quilts you and Connie are working on.
Mary, right with you – glad ice skating has finally started. I’ve enjoyed the ice dancing.
Love the light palette for Good News. It’s so nice to see colors that say ” Spring!” Especially since we may get lots of snow Thursday!
Mrs. Maisel is on my short list to watch. I have started to watch Sweet Magnolia on Netflix, and I really like it.
Your new colors are so pretty. Looks like spring is coming.
I’m going to senior Olympics tomorrow…as a cheer leader!!! No pompoms or short skirts, but our pickle ball team will know they have our support. Should be fun.
Both your Good News quilts are beautiful, Mary! The spring colors are quite invigorating; as always, the darker fabrics are lovely and timeless.
It was sunny here with a high of 46 today, so we ran some errands and grabbed lunch out. It was a good day for this, as we are also having nasty weather on Thursday! 🥶❄️
Take Care, 🥰
I believe I have the Good News pattern but where is another question, lol I haven’t watched much of the snowboarding since I’m listening to a book on tape right now. The day is starting out in the 50 here and my daffodils are starting to open. It’s been unusually cold here in TN this winter, we need to see the sunshine.
Mary, I had to laugh at Old Faithful starting up after sitting outside. My neighbor’s business is building, selling, and repairing golf carts. Not a day goes by that I don’t see someone bringing a trailer with a cart or two to be repaired. You must have a good one!
It’s already 48 degrees at 7:30AM and the snow is really melting, but it’s very windy. It will be another good day to sew and read.
Linda in MI – this golf cart is over 50 years old!!!
Hi Mary, I’d love to see a close-up photo of the quilt block that’s on your outbuilding, showing your golf cart. I’m enjoying the Olympics at night while hand stitching. Enjoy your day.
Debby K – I will take that picture and post
I just love reading your blog! I’m one of those who loves your quilt with those warm, dark colors…guess I have a dark side when it comes to quilting. lol I always loved watching the Olympics but it’s sad that the Russians continually tarnish the competition and are still allowed to go on. Certainly not fair to all the other Olympians. I love ice skating, ski jumping, alpine skiing and bobsled. I remember watching the bobsled competition on our old black & white TV. In those days the tracks were primitive and oftentimes the crashes would be horrific. We turned off the TV during the halftime show. I love all types of music but not “ganstra rap” because much of it glorifies violence against women and law enforcement. But then again, I’m old! xxoo
Ann in PA – I’m old, too, but that has also made me smart – smart enough to tell when something is wrong!
Mary,
Missed what you found out about JUVEN?
Light snow alternating with some sunshine here In Idaho this morning. Was 26o this morning with some over night snow. Should be good skiing up @ Lost Trails tomorrow!?
Lunch from town just arrived.
Launa – actually haven’t found out anything except that for two mornings in a row Rick broke out in a cold sweat right after he had taken it. I said he should have something in his stomach first ….. but what do I know? I’m just the caregiver who is not a nurse! Ugh.
I agree about taking with food. Most prescriptions mention that…if necessary!
Will see if I can find any info
