Who doesn’t love a four patch?

Got a couple charm packs you want to use? Sew them into 4 patches.

With your rotary cutter, cut 1-1/4″ from each seam – do not pick up the block between cuts.

Exchange the top and bottom pieces with each other and the side pieces.

Sew the block back together again.

Pressing shown from the back.

Sew blocks together, 4 across by five down.

This goes on the quilting machine next. Another UFO nearly finished!

I just finished making a disappearing nine like that, but added a HST to two of the corner pieces after everything else was sewn back together. Love the disappearing 4P, 9P and pinwheel!!

Susan – I’m going to try that on the next one! Great idea – thanks and I’ll pass it along.

But then you lose the 4-patch, woven look….but different strokes for different folks. LOL

Making a quilt with this disappearing four patch pattern out of ’30’s prints. Have finished 20 blocks with 44 more to go. Doing 8 across and 8 down. Really fun to put together.

I love this design and will probably have to “steal” it. I am trying so hard to use up a lot of my stash and with so many “different” fabrics this would be a great way to incorporate a lot of them. Now just have to find the time.

I’m excited about this design and can’t wait to make it using a box of squares I’v had forever and didn’t know what to do with. Thank you for sharing the pattern, I love it.

Oh my gosh, a Salem ruler! I used a Salem for decades, and lost it in a move. I still miss it. Clear to read and 8 inches wide. A true antique and worthy of great care.

Kathy – connie uses Omnigrid and hates Salem rulers. It’s my favorite and when we were planning to close the shop, I confiscated all the Salem rulers – hahaha!

I love it! It seemed like “voila” and the top was finished! You are a genius! Thank you so much.
Hope the SNOW is gone–it’s EASTER tomorrow. Easter wishes to you, your husband, and all the critters!

Oh, good something to inspire me. I just ordered some Olfa Blades, was running low. Can gather charms n cut some scraps for this. Always fun to play with fabrics. Are you giving your pretty finished quilt away, Mary?
No new snow, sun is shining; already a 40 degrees morning up here in Idaho. Good for our solar power. Thanks for the visual pattern. A Happy Easter to you, Rick n all the critters.

Launa – yes, the quilt will go to somebody when I need it. I like to have some in the closet ready to go.

Mary — I LOVE this idea!!! I’ve got way too many charm packs — actually a whole tub of them — and I’ve been looking for ideas on how to use them. Thanks SO much!!

Love this design. Just received two charm packs the other day to make my 8-month old great-granddaughter, Audrey Rose, a quilt and had no idea what I was going to make. Thank you for sharing. Happy Easter.

I really like this pattern. I have a charm pack of 30’s fabrics and have been wondering what to do with them. Thanks for the idea and the pattern. Happy Easter to all of you.

Mary, thanks for sharing! This is simple -and simply charming. I’m off to my sewing to start cutting and piecing! Love your colors.

Carol – there’s no quilt police out there – just make up your own.

I love your choice of fabrics and the pattern! Thank you.
Beautiful here in deep east Texas a mild 78*. Flowers and sunshine aplenty.
(But summer is coming and it gets really hot and very humid) so we enjoy spring to the fullest.
Happy Easter to you and all!!

Great idea—-it is really “charming.” Wear your earmuffs to church on Easter; leave your pretty Easter bonnet for the future. Cold here in SW Minn. Thanks for sharing.

Kathy – you’re right – it is ear muff weather. Poor little girls in their fancy flimsy dresses!

Great quilt/fabric stash ideas! I sewed the regular nine patch then cut right up the middle…sew it back together again. Add Small border and cornerstone…all from stash of fat quarters.sorry.dont know how to post photos. Not heavy on the quilt in.

Just saw this quilt from Pinterest. I love it, and can’t wait to try it! As soon as I finish baby quilt (friends had twin girls!), and a Halloween table runner, this one will be next! Isn’t it funny how we create “To Do” lists for our quilting hobby? Your blog looks great. I look forward to looking around it for other gems like this one. Thanks for posting it!

Karen from Virginia – I don’t know what quilt you’re referring to. Were you reading a very old blog post? I hope you see this so you can give me more info.
