Surprise here…have snow on all trees and some in clumps all over acreage this morning. Started again with a little more snow flakes this early morning. Sun has popped out so hope it melts. 32 outside @ 8 am! Four deer came to visit earlier.
    Congratulations to book winner Deborah!
Guess winter isn’t over yet as a few more flakes are falling.

Holy moly, are you in Alaska?! We are in Western New York and might not be surprised with an April or May little snow event, but June? Yikes!

Up at 5800 ft in Idaho! One native Idahoan shared about a snow on a July 4 th!

Thank you Mary for sharing so much with us, your readers, your friends.
Day 2 with no rain. Just finished mowing yard area, another few days and would have had to bale it. Already 87 degrees, and won’t discuss the humidity…yuk is all will say.
Had a conversation with the county road commissioner about horrible/dangerous condition road is, don’t think believed me when I said was a death waiting to happen. I am not exaggerating.
Before hits 90s this afternoon want to get my tomatoes in the raised bed son prepared for me. Better late than not at all.

I Live on top of steep hill, gravel road, narrow and curvy, weekend neighbor paid a county worker using county equipment to create dames in the bar-ditches to divert run off because was washing gravel from his drive ( he didn’t put in a culvert)…well now the run off has cut a deep wide rut in road that is dangerous to all that drive road. I go other direction and make a loop ( probably over 3 miles) out of my way if I go anywhere. Just frustrating, and if the idiot would put culvert in he would not have washout problem and the divert wash off the road could easily be fixed, plus county employee and equipment should never have been used in first
        place. Never had problem before

Nikki M. – well, that is maddening! We’d never get by with something like that around here! You have to get permit upon permit before you can move a rock, it seems! You’d think the weekend neighbor would feel guilty about destroying the road for his neighbors! Obviously he doesn’t.

Not a good neighbor… owns 12 acre as & only here rarely ..unfair of me as basically does nothing.. put small prefab building on place to overnight in. Comes up during hunting season and maybe 6 times rest of year. Just the fact caused road problems & didn’t think about anyone else makes him a burr in my butt.

          2. CountryThreads Post author

Nikki M – you should make a formal complaint – do you have other neighbors that use that road?

          3. Nikki M in Tx

Yes others use road, is about 3 miles maybe 5 at max long..T’s into another at each end, so not a major traffic road carrier. Son up over weekend and he also talked with county commissioner, and is composing a letter to send and also plans to next county meeting which isn’t until end of month. Son also cc to TxDOT, told son thought should cc EPA since since diverted natural run off path, but son said wait & see what developes with county first.

Nikki M – I can’t wait to hear what the county and then the DOT has to say! Talk about a self centered neighbor! He doesn’t fit the description of a good neighbor, does he?

Thank you, Mary. Congrats to Deborah.
We are escaping the humidity of sw Illinois for the summer. Presently, we are in the panhandle of Nebraska in Oregon Trail territory and loving it. It has been sweatshirt weather today.
I am cutting out a Gameboard in Halloween colors.

Congrats to the lucky Deborah! I am envious, but am glad there is a lucky winner. Sometime, maybe it will be me. Clicked some adds on my phone and now my iPad. I guess it counts on different devices, doesn’t it? Thunderstorms here where I am in FL. I plan to order game board tomorrow and maybe Uncle Sam. I’m good at buying and starting projects but not as disciplined at sitting for hours at the sewing machine. I have quite a few UFOs because of this trait.

Pat Smith – my favorite part is sitting at the machine – I hate the cutting but that’s what I need to do today so I have something to piece. First I’ll have to clean up my sewing room so I can see the table -haha!

Where is Waukcoma? How many days was Jo’s husband in Hospice? It sure seemed like such a long time. Very hard on her and family

    1. CountryThreads Post author

Betty – Waucoma is northeast of Charles City. Roger had hospice care for only a couple days.
