The minutes are dragging by just waiting for Becky to get here at 9. Can’t sleep – who could after 10 days of sleeping? My back aches from laying in this terrible bed. And I’m getting pretty hungry.
Since I’m bored to tears with hours to fill I’m going to post all the pictures that I’ve received. Readers – please comment on your own photos if an explanation is needed or if someone asks a question about your pictures.

Love all the animals in this post; I, too, would enjoy hearing the story of the fawn and kitten in the house pen. My condolences on sweet, beautiful Daisy’s crossing Rainbow Bridge.
Pamela, I am so sorry to hear about the devastating loss of your quilting friend and her young grandson-how tragic!
The quilts in the museum are truly beautiful! The charming woodwork in the museum reminds me of our 1884 home, where we raised our three sons.
Thanks so much for posting, Mary. Take Care, 🥰
So glad you get to go home! I posted yesterday about The Quilters’ Hall of Fame photos but my post didn’t show up!??? The QHF photos start with the portrait of Marie Webster above the fireplace. The first 4 photos are in the room Marie used for 30 years for her pattern business from. All the furniture in the room was hers except the bed. The rose quilt is her designs but, but not made by Marie. We do have several of the quilts she designed and made, the family kept some, but they donated the majority of them to the Indianapolis Museum of Art. They gave us the cutout of Marie in the outfit she used to wear to give her historic quilt lectures. The little red dress was Marie’s as a child and the gorgeous crazy quilt in the display case Marie made when she was engaged to George in the 1880’s. She didn’t make another quilt until she was 50! The red and green appliqué quilts are from the Christ collection, loaned to us by Arlan and Pat Christ. They did a walk-through for us last week, they’re great!
Mary, so glad you got to go home today. What a blessing on Thanksgiving. I’m sure all the animals and Rick will be thrilled to see you.
Pamela, I’m so very sorry to hear of the tragic loss of your friend Diana and her autistic grandson. How sad. Praying for you and the family.
Loved today’s pictures. My two favorites was the table runner with the patriotic fabric with the multi-colored squares set on point. My other favorite was the antique quilt with the yellow background. I love yellow and the applique was done in red (my other favorite color) and green. Simply stunning.
To Daisy’s mom – I’m so sorry Daisy had to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Dogs come into our lives, burrow deep down in our hearts, and when it’s time to let them go, it is so very difficult
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Sorry to tell everyone but I just found out that Diana and her autistic grandson were trapped, yelling for help and were probably overcome with smoke and died, then burned. I believe it was their time to go into God’s hands, I just prayed they didn’t suffer. Sooo hard to hear this news. 😞
Mary, I’m so glad you’re going home today.
Beautiful pictures of the red and white antique quilts.
Pamela I’m heartbroken over the loss of your friend in Texas. What a shock. I’m praying for you and for your peace.
Lord of sadness today. Losing Daisy too is hard on the family.
My happiness was a surprise visit with my grandson who has been training in Virginia with the Marine Security Forces. All of us were surprised by the gift of an airplane ticket and picking him up at the airport by his sister’s boyfriend. Aidan had never met this boyfriend. I’m so impressed! And blessed!!
O I just love all these pictures, the quilts are all beautiful, and love all the animals, just beautiful
I want to thank everyone for their sympathies on my sewing friend, Diana, passing away in a house fire. I have sent Mary a couple of pictures. She was 75 and very sweet, generous and loved scary suspense movies like I do. She was always helping and volunteering and never met a stranger. I have a hard time with death and I grieve hard. I just pray she didn’t suffer. We had met Saturday and had our group picture taken and then went to lunch. We were wearing our red and black buffalo check flannel shirts and a young guy came in wearing a jacket like our shirts. We cajoled him into sitting with us , he was one of our own people and didn’t know it🤭.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! So glad Mary that you are home. Sorry for the loss of Daisy. Pamala I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend. So unexpected. The log home quilt is beautiful, thanks for sharing. The museum quilts are beautiful. What a great display. And thanks for all the pet and animal pictures. I spent the morning off and on putting up X-Mas items, our dinner for the two of us consisted of wings, party potatoes and gravy and corn. I also made myself a Moscow mule. Pumpkin and Pecan pie later.
We will have a large gathering with my family tomorrow. I am taking some of my wallhangings to distribute to my family. I have them sign up for the ones they want and do a drawing. Last year was a quilt.
Pamela, So sorry to hear of the tragic loss of your friend. Praying for her and for you.
Happy Thanksgiving, Mary, all your family (including furry ones) and readers! I hope you’re happily at home by now, and soaking up all that love! Anything you get to eat for Thanksgiving, even if it’s just soup, will taste far better at home … enjoy! I love all the photos you shared today … thank you. The tree skirt without a hole is great. One of the first quilts I ever made was a diamond log cabin tree skirt. I had no fabric stash at that time, so I had to buy everything I needed. Once I got it all put together, I just couldn’t cut that lovely fabric. So, it became a table topper, and still is, some 30-odd years later. Rest and relax, Mary … pet some animals and maybe some fabric, when you feel like it.
Such a great display of photos. I so enjoyed looking at them. I am so glad you can go home and hope all goes well on the trip. I will look forward to hearing about your welcome home!
Beautiful vintage quilts today! Love it! There has to be a story behind the fawn and kitty photo. I hope the reader fills us in. Pamela Dempsey, I’m so sorry your sewing friend lost her life in such a tragic way. I’m sending a big virtual hug your way. I was wondering if she was elderly. I’m sure Daisy ‘s family will miss such a beautiful dog friend. Daisy looks like she was a sweetie. I’ve enjoyed all the photos, Mary. If I had a glass of wine, I’d raise a toast to your going home! Here! Here!
The red and green quilts are absolutely beautiful! Looking at all the work, imagine the hours it took to make them, then the hand quilting!, Stunning and unbelievable!!
I’m so glad you are going home! You will feel so much better when you get there! Loved All of the photos.
So glad you are going home. I love the Baltimore quilts, where were they shown? Just beautiful.
Wonderful you are getting home today, all of your furry and feathered friends will be so happy, not to mention Rick! I love the pictures today, so many questions! I hope whoever did the cabin tree skirt will decide to keep it whole and use it on a table, it is just too nice to only use at Christmas! I really hope the person who has the fawn and kitten will let us know the story behind that photo. So sad to read of Pam’s friend passing in a fire, how awful, and that Daisy passed too. I’m sure she was much loved. The vintage quilts are amazing! Well, Happy Thanksgiving, be careful, be safe and be still… Jan in MA where it’s pouring. No guests today, snowing in NH where my daughter lives and pouring in Scituate and here – we are having our gathering closer to Christmas now.
Mary, so happy to hear you will be headed home! Can’t possibly imagine staying in a hospital. Sure I wouldn’t be a good patient! Just being at home will make you feel so much better! Back to your own environment with your own stuff surrounding you ( including Rick!) Just don’t try to do too much. The dogs and other animals will be very happy.
Beautiful quilt show, what beautiful vintage quilts, where were these on display? At the Iowa quilt museum? No, not modern enough of a building. I loved every photo today, such beautiful animals and people, the first quilt you had a photo should be a table topper! Don’t cut it for the tree skirt! So sorry to read of beautiful Daisy’s passing to the rainbow bridge. Dogs, especially, for me are such a gift as I like cats as well. Hope your transition to home goes well for you, Mary. Happy Thanksgiving as well. We have a light dusting of snow here, and we shall have our daughter and daughter-in-law and our granddaughter for dinner and conversations today. Be well all.
So glad to hear you are going home. Hospitals are the worse places to be. Having just gone through a major surgery, I can’t stress enough to take it easy. Your dog’s will be so excited but try to keep them from jumping on you.
Sunflower, so sorry for you loss. And to Pamela, so tragic to lose a friend. Especially without warning.
I also loved the top photo but the red and green ones really got my attention. Assuming it’s a museum, but which one?
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Even if you can’t have all the food you will be home. And for that I’m sure your thankful for.
WOW! Great photos!
Glad to hear you are going home – hope you can get some rest and enjoy having this all behind you!
Have as happy a Thanksgiving as you can!!
So glad you are getting to go home. You will heal faster there!!!
Good to hear you are going home. Hope the ride home is smooth with no bumps. Oh boy Hazel and Keeper will be very happy.
To Daisy’s human ……. I am so sorry. Sending you sympathies and hugs. 💝
Mary,
So glad you’ll be home soon. Please take care as getting into and out of the car will be a challenge even after 10 days post op. Just go slow and easy.
My husband’s hernia surgery went well yesterday. He’s recovering on the couch now and recliner last night. I have him medicated well so he is as comfortable as he can be.
Thank you all for the good thoughts on Daisy. She was my daughter’s rescue for 12 years. She was indeed a sweet sweet girl. ❤️
The vintage quilts are so nice. And I also love the first quilt with the cabins. A unique quilt top. Who has the fawn and what is the story there? Cuddling with a kitten! So precious. Love the dog pictures too. Looks like three good buddies in that photo! Pretty pup near the wheelchair too, a pretty coloring on his coat. Baby goats too…a little of everything on this Thanksgiving day. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. 🌻
Sunflower – glad your husband’s surgery went well – Becky is bringing my van because I don’t think I can get into her low car and out again.
Good thinking!!🌻
Yay! You’re escaping and heading home!😻
So sorry for Daisy’s passing, she was beautiful 💔
I am also mourning the death of a sewing friend. She passed Monday night in a house fire. I pray she died in her sleep and didn’t suffer.
I love the sweet animals pictures and especially the first quilt at top with the cabins! Any pattern name? Happy Thanksgiving 🦃 to all ❤️
Pamela – if that reader doesn’t answer I’ll tell you what I know about it. It’s actually a tree shirt without the hole cut into it yet. She said the pattern came from Quiltmania but when I saw it I thought it looked like an old Red Wagon.
Mary thank you so much for all the pics. Just beautiful! To Daisy’s mom I am so sorry you had to say good bye to your pup. It is a real heart hurt for sure.
Mary I am happy you are home surrounded by your loves, your fabric and all the familiar smells and sounds. It’s comforting. Take it easy for a spell. I hope you are able to eat a bit of thanksgiving goodies.
Happy Thanksgiving! So glad to hear you will be going home today. Photos today are beautiful! Fabulous vintage quilts! I love all the reds & greens. So sorry to hear about Daisy. She was loved! Hugs to all!

Glad you are headed home. You will heal so much better there. You will have great care from the ones you live. Next problem will be not to overdue it, Take things day by day.
