This is Pastor Lund and me this morning – we must have coordinated our outfits!

Wonderful quilts. Mary isn’t it wonderful to have a great pastor? We love ours but have a couple duds. Yesterday, I went to Mall of America. There is an LL Bean store so I returned a couple things and bought a couple things. Anyway, as long as I was there, I might as well wonder around. For you 3 or 4 people on planet earth who haven’t been, it is an experience. For instance, there is no furnace (people provide heat). They have a hotel attached (somewhere). It sits on the sight that used to be the Minnesota Twins baseball field so in the center court, if you know where to look, they have a seat from the stadium where Harmon Killibrew hit an epic home run. Yes there are rides etc.. Lego land is there where you can sit & put things together all day. Lucky for me when my grand daughters were younger American Girl was open – not anymore. One thing I didn’t know is that you can go through TSA screening there instead of the airport. Of course, there are stores galore, most of which don’t interest me at all. For a Monday, I couldn’t tell if it was busy – it’s too big to judge but I can say, I didn’t see very many shopping bags. No quilt stores. Dang.
That’s all for a Monday. Have a great day everyone.
Janet – I haven’t been to MOA in years but it really is quite remarkable. I’d love to visit again!
We go to MOA (the the neighbor IKEA) at least a couple of times a year – usually around hubs birthday and my birthday as well, sometimes at Christmas – when a couple of our grands visit Santa and then go for supper – they only live a few minutes away. It’s only an hour away from us. It’s entertaining to see the stores that move from one place to another and see what new stores are there – but I almost never buy anything! It’s a great place to walk and if you are there in the morning there are several people that use the ‘mayo mile’ to get their winter walks – our DIL’s dad walked there every day. Sometimes they have entertainment in the atrium and when we were there in November we watched them put up the 75-100 foot Christmas trees and hang the decorations from the rafters. Also – in addition to the Killebrew chair from the old Met stadium – if you go to the amusement park and look you will find home plate! Both are apparently in the actual locations. They also have some pretty nice traveling displays – there was a Vatican display earlier. There are 2 hotels that are attached to MOA. Probably the most fun and chaotic time we spent there was the days before the US Bank stadium hosted the Super Bowl. There were SO many people – all sorts of activities and wall to wall people, with all of the sports networks had their booths doing interviews and many of the players were around. It’s a fun place to visit, I’m not much of a shopper and don’t do recreational shopping – but we like to go there.
Up in Asheville, NC again this week babysitting my 3 year old grandson, Wilder. Had to pick him up early from daycare because he developed a fever. He fell asleep early this evening and he felt like he was getting warm again but I was able to give him another dose of Tylenol before he fell asleep. Not sure what kind of night I’m going to have. I love Bonnie’s lable idea of adding simple wash instructions. I’m going to try it on my next one.
Barbara – poor little Wilder! And you, too!
Mary that colour really does suit you. What a lovely picture of you and the pastor.
Bonnie your snowman quilt is adorable and all that embroidery work. I like your label too. I was able to enlarge the photo to see the blocks. Well done!
The past week has been lovely spring weather with the last two days warm. Today it will be in the high 50’s F and in the sun yesterday we could be outside with a t-shirt and no jacket. The rains are coming again but these sunny days are so energizing.
The carpet in the stairs was installed yesterday. Even though it is only our stairwell it is so nice to have an area completely done. We are not going to do the flooring on the main floor till we get the all the fiddly stuff done upstairs. It may take a month but that is ok with me.
Have a wonderful day everyone, I need to start my DD #6 but not today. It’s important health wise to be outside in this lovely weather. I can sew when it rains.
Thank you for the blog Mary, I enjoy reading it and the comments with my morning coffee.
Mary, that is your color and I love that your Pastor dressed to match. The snowman quilt is wonderful, all that embroidery (I’m envious of such talent). I was able to enlarge it and really admire it. Super cute label. I hope to finish one new quilt this month for a new baby in the family. It will be my #4. Looking forward to spring and green grass.
Mary, you look so pretty in that color and your pastor so handsome. I like that he wears a suit and tie! So many church leaders dress so casual. I’m old and still like dressing in respectful clothes like suits and ties and dressy clothes for women to church. Better get off that subject or I’ll get in trouble 😂
Cloudy and gray this morning. I looked at the weather forecast first and that says mostly cloudy.
By the way, the menu we had the older night…the way I wrote it looked like I made more than the seven layer salad. I did not! I only made the salad, and I forgot the baked beans in the line up. They are oh so good. They have pineapple in them! Anyone want the recipe for the summer cookouts?
Bonnie I love your quilt and the label is awesome. I like that you put washing instructions on it.
Have a good day everyone!
Joy, please post the bean recipe for all of us. I love trying something new for our summer cookouts and who doesn’t like pineapple.
Joy – I still think I should dress in my best clothes for God’s house – Brian always wears a suit and tie unless maybe it’s a midweek service. I sit at the
piano facing the congregation and would not be comfortable in anything less than my best. Others sometimes say God doesn’t care what you wear to church – He loves us anyway. But…I think it’s a sign of respect. Our church is old school in many ways
Our church is old school as well. Our pastor always wears a suit and tie, and I am one that likes to wear skirts or dresses to church. But I am thankful some come and dress however they feel comfortable. Yes, you look lovely in that color.
Mary,
Good morning! What a beautiful quilt by Bonnie. I love quilts with both embroidery and quilting. Very well done!
Thats a nice photo of you and the Pastor.
We were back to below freezing temps overnight. The sunrise was beautiful over the lake though and the trees were frosted so very pretty. Took Biscuit for a quick walk and then back to make him some eggs. I’ll return him home shortly to my son.
Working on the top for a baby quilt today, plus, grocery store and other errands. Have a great day everyone! 🌻
Great hair, Mary! Purple looks perfect on you!
My hopes for organization fell apart somehow. Where is my #6 project? I guess if I get any quilting done, it’s progress. Organization, for me, is like house cleaning; as soon as I make my way through one project, all others need to be done all over. I guess that’s life.
Bonnie your quilt is a work of art! Beautiful embroidery!
Beautiful snow quilt. That is a lot of work but so satisfying now that it is complete.
Love your hair Mary! I think you told me your next appointment with Cali is the same day as ours. I’ve been going to her since 1995.
Gloria – yes, I’ll be there but won’t want her to cut anything unless it’s uneven. It was so short after my last appt.
You need to tell her that you want it longer. Sometimes she has to cut it short to get your hair where it needs to be so she can style it. One time when she broke her elbow I went to someone else for 2 months and it took her 3 months to get my hair back to where it looked good again.
Gloria – yup – I’ll be seeing you. I’m going to ask her how long I’ve been going to her with a couple of breaks in between. A long time
Mary, you look so cute. Great color on you!
Bonnie, your snowman quilt is adorable. So much work in that one. I love your label too.
Wow! You looked so sharp, Mary. That is your color, for sure.
To the reader who made the snowman quilt…. Adorable! I would love to see close-up photos of the embroidery.
Me too PLEASE. I cannot enlarge to see all those embroidered squares
If you open the blog on your phone, you can enlarge the pictures.
This is your color! It looks stunning on you! It is a great photo! Bonnies quilt is adorable and her quilt label is so impressive,
You two look good.
I didn’t get #4 done last month (taxes) but I must focus so I can return to quilting.
Everyone, keep your fingers crossed. The weatherman forecasts rain and snow for us this week. Please, please, please…we need moisture.
