Oh the weather outside is frightful!
I’m going to try this again but break it down into several shorter posts – in hopes I don’t lose it all. This will be some miscellaneous photos and tomorrow I’ll take pictures at Hazel’s party. Thanks for all the birthday wishes! I spent the day digging around for blue quilts and hanging them which I’ll save for another post. Here is the trimmed coral cactus – wish I had done this sooner.
Here are the maple trees in front of the house – with leaves still hanging on. And I tried so hard to rake them all last fall. What’s with these trees?
Stopped at the thrift store last week and found these 2 pieces of ironstone.
Tomorrow I’ll try to post the blue quilts and hope I don’t lose the post.
Wishing Hazel a very Happy Birthday!!!
Mary I hope Hazel has a fun party filled with all things she loves. 🎉🍦🎂 🎉
Happy Happy Birthday to Hazel.
Happy Birthday Hazel! I hope your day has been filled with adventure!
Enjoy your posts
The top picture with your red barn could be a Christmas card. Oh Happy Day, Hazel🐶🐶
Happy Birthday Hazel! Stay warm and don’t party too hard. 🙂
Our maples did the same thing this year.
Mary Hawk – really? I’m glad to hear that. Any idea why?
Hi Mary
My ipad is in the ipad hospital, so i have to use this little tablet, yuck.
Cant wait to get my ipad back.
Anyway i just wanted to say that my big oak never looses its leaves until very late in winter. But the wind has been so strong today that most are being blown down. my neighbors across the way wont be happy with me as all my leaves have blown in their yard. Yikes
Mary, you know except for over watering a cactus, they are pretty hard to kill. They haven’t lasted all these years for a good reason. In a prairie cemetery out here, these flat patty cake type of cactus really grow. When they mow, it whacks the pieces up and tosses them all over and they grow wherever they land. It isn’t a cemetery where you can go barefoot. They even take on the garden hose and the roofers and WIN.
Betty – if it dies of overwatering, I think it happened outside with rain late last summer along with chilly temps in August.
Happy Barkday to Hazel !!!! My boy turns 15 on the 15th (I think—he’s a rescue)
I got my book today from Bev Vickery. Thank you so much for hunting this down for all of us. I cannot wait to start on the “Feathered Circles” and have ear marked quite a few of the other projects too.
Way to persevere! Don’t let that silly computer beat you!!!!
Wishing new growth on your coral cactus. The ironware pieces are lovely.
Happy Birthday.Hazel! Love these pictures and the ironstone! That cactus will make it. I don’t think you can kill a cactus.
Happy Birthday to Hazel! We had upper 50’s yesterday, and right now it is 13. Very refreshing ! We missed the snow. I had to have a touch of spring so I bought a pot of crocus the other day at the grocery store. Keep warm and count the days until spring.
My maples have retained their leaves too. Odd
The barred owls have been very vocal, it’s mating season and they have to stake out their territory. We are having very heavy rain today and it is eating the snow quite rapidly. I am being serenaded by the coyotes today not sure why they are out in the middle of the day making such a racket.
The cactus looks better trimmed I hope it recovers.
Happy birthday to Hazel and thanks Mary for the birthday wishes you sent my way earlier in the Month,,just trying to stay warm here like everyone is. We had about 6 inches of snow yesterday and quite a blizzard but all quiet and just cold today! 3 quilts shops within an hour of my house are closing…I am soooo sad! Have a great day! Jana Biermaier
Love your china find at the thrift shop. I have a set of dishes from Germany that also have that “red” , different design but same red. I don’t see a lot of that. I’m going to keep my eye out for a coral cactus. It’s really interesting It’s 65f today here in Gettysburg but expect your cold to arrive tomorrow.
Hi Mary, I see that there is some other growth next to your cactus. Are those “children” from your main plant? I like your plates, you always find interesting items. Stay warm.
