Beautiful plantings by all your readers I have lots of geraniums which are turning yellow in the heat. Kept them in their pots as I don’t dig in the garden any longer. Hope they bounce back. May need fertilizer.
Tragic news about the shooting in Michigan. Crazy.

Love all the pictures today. I do not know the names of most of the flowers, but they sure are beatutiful! I love the close up of the yellow flower. I picked my first picking of red raspberries today, and am making a batch of freezer jam this morning. They came on earlier than normal. It is hot this morning, and we would love some of that rain SE MN is getting! We are dry and are watering some on our garden.

Love to see flower and garden photos! Thanks for sharing.

The recent mass shooting at a children’s splash pad park in Rochester Hills, Michigan was just about 3 miles from our old house. It’s a terrible thing and I can’t help but wonder why people do these things. Of course we still have many friends living there and they are greatly affected. The city is providing free counseling for all in the community this whole week, for free. The mayor, who lived in my neighborhood, was very shaken but eloquent in his remarks to the city. My heart goes out to my old hometown.

Sunflower – that’s horrible! I haven’t heard this on the news – were any kids killed? Did they catch the shooter? Hard to even imagine these things.

        Mary,
There were 8-9 people shot including about five children. One family had both mom and dad and one of their children shot. Parents gravely injured, it is horrendous. The gunman went to his home and then committed suicide. He was 42 years old. He had a large cache of weapons, including an assault rifle on his kitchen table. Just terrible,

Sunflower – oh, how tragic!! So senseless – I did hear it on the news today and cannot imagine shooting kids! And both parents? So very sad!

So beautiful! Breathtaking, as Mary’s comment says. Someone’s Bird of Paradise is wonderful, as are all the flowers.

Interesting that post #2 has the “Comment ” at the bottom but this one didn’t. I still had to go to “Read on the blog.” All the flowers are gorgeous. We spent Father’s Day making a new flower bed. I have to move flowers from a bed that has been taken over with bind weed. Then my husband is going to spray the weed infestation. I’ll not plant in that area ever again. I also have a few new flowers to plant in the new area, too. I plant mainly perennials. My peonies finally are blooming. I was worried that they weren’t going to as they’ve had buds for two weeks.

Storms have. been hard on my flowers. Enjoyed seeing them all. So many varieties.
SE Mn. Is going to have rain everyday but Tuesday. That will be the day for mowing and any outdoor work.
Grand daughter and family come for a visit on Saturday for a week. Looking forward to having fun with the Grands.
Mary thanks for doing all your hard work on the blog. We all enjoy it so much!

Isn’t it wonderful to see so many different flowers and so many colors? I don’t know what some of them are , but I love seeing them! Happy Father’s Day to all dads and anyone who acts as a dad! It was 91 here today and is going UP for the next 8 days. Ugh. I am not a fan of anything above 72*!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful post, Mary😀

Wow! Such beautiful flowers today. I loved them all! Thank you for sharing. I had the brothers and nephews over today for a light meal. With my recovery lately I haven’t seen them much. It was a nice day. I hope you all had an enjoyable Father’s Day too. Stay cool!

Thank you for all the beautiful flower pictures from a woman who can’t grow a weed! Wasn’t that a great win over Chicago?

  12. Vicki Ibarra

Such a variety of flowers and colors. Noel, do the birds eventually eat the sunflower seeds? The wooden flag is striking. The bowl of strawberries beside the flowers are a nice June gathering.

    1. Noël from TN

Stay tuned and I’ll let you know! This is the first year I let some of the sprouts grow instead of pulling them all up. The squirrels eat the sunflowers I purposefully plant so I thought I’d give this a try this year! 😎

Wow, awesome photos! I have never seen a purple poppy! Thanks for sharing, everyone! Stay cool this coming week, the heat sounds oppressive. Not looking forward to that. Jan in MA

Beautiful! My flowers aren’t quite this abundant. But after last night’s storm, I didn’t need to water! But we had puddles in the kid’s tents that they slept in in the front yard. They loved it anyway.

Dee – I remember those days – and nights – of sleeping outside in the yard. Some were eventful!
