The pictures are dwindling –

And this cartoon isn’t Christmas but too funny not to share.

After yesterday’s post I didn’t think Mortie could get any cuter…then today we see Mortie and Three! And I agree that picture of Mortie looking at the wind chime would make a lovely card!!
The Christmas photos have been very upliftIng and I appreciate them!
Our winter freeze continues for two more days. My chicken water keeps freezing. Take care everyone! 🌻

Sunflower – I used heated pet bowls in the winter. I also have an electric base that I sit a pan on. I’ll take a picture.

Happy Birthday, Jeanine. 🙂 Dick Van Dyke’s 100th birthday is also today.
Dot in NC you nailed it! I created the piece in 2013 after my daughters had a decade celebration that year for me The tokens attached to the tree were some of the items decorating tables.
    Stay warm and healthy.

These holiday pics are wonderful, Mary. Thanks so much for doing this. Is there anything cuter than the flower pot nativity? Oh my, I love it!
I am so happy Three and Morti are friends.
It snowed all day. One of our granddaughters graduated from college this morning. Fortunately, we could watch it on YouTube.

Happy Birthday to Jeanine in SW Iowa!! There a lot of December birthdays and anniversaries in December, including mine and several friends. Other than maybe going out for dinner, we hardly celebrate any more! Family will be attending a baby shower tomorrow (their first!). So happy for the young couple. We’ve been enjoying incredibly warm weather for December. It’s currently 58° with beautiful sunny weather. Of course, rain will begin tomorrow and everyday for the next week. It’s been wonderful seeing everyone’s decorations, quilts and animals. Thanks Mary for posting them all.

I also don’t decorate and haven’t for years due to health and mobility. All of my decorations are still packed away and I love them. What to do with them at this age and no one I know wants them.? Looking at your posts with all the absolutely beautiful and different ideas warms my heart and soul, as do all the animal photos. I would love to be able to pet Mortie. That photo with Three is so adorable. Again I thank you for all you do and I am sending best wishes for good health and a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I did bring out most of my decorations as to decide what to do with them. I’m so attached and to just give them away is hard for me. I guess that means I’m selfish. Didn’t decorate for the last two years due to health. Now what to do for next year? Oh vey!! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Healthy and Happy New Years.

Beautiful pictures! Love the jokes, too. And that picture of Three with Mortie is too precious. Thank you, Mary.

Great photos this morning – fun to see what other folks create! Guess I should send you a few of mine, just for fun
We’re expecting snow in east central OH today and very cold temps for tonight and tomorrow – then by mid-week it’s supposed to be almost 50 degrees! I do believe I may get some sewing and baking done – I made caramels last night but need to cut them still. I have some pants here to fix for a dear friend who had to have one leg amputated a couple of months ago. Counting my blessings that I can help her with this little task.

I love both of today’s Christmas trees. I think the one dated 2013 is needlepoint, perhaps on plastic canvas? And I like the simple hand made Nativity with the cross stitch tree. The flower pot manger made me smile! All these Christmas photos have been so much fun to see.

That photo of Three and Mortie is a keeper! Mortie seems to have charmed both Three and Hazel. What do Keeper and the rest of the cats think of her?

I had to laugh, after yesterday’s talk of CRS, the ad at the top of the page today says “Is Your Memory Fading?” They’re watching us!

  9. Jeanine from SE iowa

Thank you for all the Christmas decorated pictures. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I do very little as it is just my husband and I as our kids are not able to come at Christmas. Weather is a big factor. We get together in the summer instead.

We are getting snow today. My husband was going to take me out for lunch today for my birthday, but since it is snowing, we will wait for a better day. I made ham and beans and cornbread yesterday, and I told him that is fine with me for lunch again today. You can’t always plan ahead for your birthday when it is in December in Iowa. But I am fine with waiting.

I love the picture of Mortie and 3. Mortie is the cutest cat ever. Always enjoy seeing her pictures. I also the one of her looking up at the silverware wind chime. That would be an adorable card.

Take care everyone and stay safe inside if you are getting snow.

      Happy, happy birthday,
from all of us to you!
We wish it were our birthday,
so we could eat cake too!

The photos of Christmas decor have been inspiring. The deep freeze has arrived and winter is still officially a few days away. It will be a white Christmas in Wisconsin. We can hope spring arrives early too. Love Mortie and the cartoons!

  11. Bonny

To all who have shared their decorating, thank you. Santa early trials….big chuckle, a nod of agreement about thighs, officer cartoon a hoot. Three and Mortie is sweet. Thank you Mary for the daily posts for our coffee! Cold here. Will bundle up later and help lay veterans wreaths. I hope the wind remains low!

  12. Pat Smith

I love the picture of Three and Mortie. We’’ve had cats that have that kind of relationship, but my daughter’s 2 are brother and sister and they definitely aren’t loving! I’ve really enjoyed everyone’s decorating. So much creativity!

  13. Frances E

That picture of the crocheted throw showing the Christmas tree is amazing. I do that stitch all the time, but I could never make that throw. Three and Mortie are so sweet. Love that picture and all of the pictures. I too read your blog first thing when I get up. Stay warm.

  14. Des

What a sweet picture of Three & Mortie. I love seeing all of the decorating inspiration as I enjoy my coffee. Waiting for some snow to arrive here in Pa.

  15. Ann in Virginia

Lovely photos. Thank you for all your diligent work for all of us. I look forward to your blog every morning when I wake up! I check my emails.
Sweet, sweet Three and Mortie! I have two 17 year old kitties—Boots and Silver-brother & sister.
I hope your health is great!

Three and Mortie…what a great pic!
The Christmas photos have been just wonderful and so inspiring. A wonderful Christmas gift! Thanks to all who shared and to you Mary for publishing.

  17. Dorothy

I have enjoyed all of the Christmas photos, mostly because I don’t decorate, but also to see all of the creativity of all of the readers, (I also don’t “celebrate”)
I LOVE the photo of Three and Mortie

Dorothy – I’m curious as to why you don’t celebrate the birth of Jesus – is it your choice, culture, religion? Do not leave a comment if I have offended you.

  18. Kathy in western NY

Awww that picture of Three and Mortie is priceless. Sure have enjoyed all the photos your readers have shared.
I have news for Jo of Wyoming……Josh Allen and his wife are expecting their first child.
