Here We Go! 4-29-24

Baby Augie
Augie today
Out of order – remember the old Grandmothers Flower Garden blocks I cut and pieced together? Here’s the same type of thing with sashing – well done!! ( if I had taken this out of order in my photo library I may have lost it!)

P.S. My new cleaning lady came today – such nice clean bathrooms I have tonight! Also went to see my best friend, my chiropractor. Ugh.

Carolyn – oh, ugh, don’t remind me of what’s coming here! Maple whirligigs – they make me want to cut the trees down.

So many smiles today. Thanks, we all need smiles.
Yeah, for your cleaning lady. They are worth every penny.

Jo – I think I actually slept better last night because I went to bed knowing my house was clean. Is your bathroom remodel finished?

Dogs, cats, and quilts! Can it get any better? I think not. 😊
I hope your chiropractor friend worked his/her magic.
Our camper has been in for repairs (new water heater), so I am ready to load up and go on an adventure.
    Thanks, Mary 🥰

All pets should have such a good life as those in the pictures. They all look like a prima donna – so relaxed and cozy that it makes me want to take a nap – okay, I will.

Wonderful cat, dog, quilt show. Hurray for your cleaning lady and oh darn for the chiropractor. Hope it helped! A little dark and rainy this AM.

Diane – my chiropractor is one of the most important people in my life these days. The bursitis is keeping me from sleeping and he suggested just keeping it aligned for a longer period of time would let it heal. So that’s what I’m going to try – every other day at the chiro to reduce the inflammation. The pain is so much worse at night – during the day I’m busy and I can ignore it. This is not life threatening, only an inconvenience really. Things could definitely be worse.😏

Enjoyed all the pictures, pets and quilts 😻😻😻🥰! They are just precious! I hope the chiropractor helped. Your baby chickens are smart, roosting already.

Oh what a show! The first kitty in the Christmas quilt is adorable! Then the stretched out cat is on such a beautiful quilt! Does anyone know the name of that quilt pattern? And just what are the two cats looking at up in that corner…cats are so funny! My daughter had shelves for her cat, she sat up there looking down on her kingdom. The readers quilts are so nice too. Have a great day everyone!

Hi Miss Sunflower 🌻 That’s Penny in my Christmas village quilt I was trying to sew white sequins to. Lucy is stretched out on my bed quilt- the quilt name is RicRac from Missouri star website. It was easy but I should have starched the fabric, it stretched a bit but I love it anyway. The picture of Penny and Lucy on their sky shelf was just a couple of weeks ago. They’re one year and 2 months old now and we just had our adoption anniversary from the SPCA one year yesterday. Penny fell from that shelf and was hanging on till she suddenly dropped. Her index claw sticks out a bit now but the vet said she is ok. I think they were staring at a gnat 🤭.

Sunflower – I asked the same thing – what are the cats looking at in that corner and she said she thought it was a gnat. Entertainment comes in many forms – ha!

OOOOOOOOOhhhhh sorry have to visit chiropractor. Hope you get fixed up!

The animals on parade on quilts! Loved this roll! They do go together don’t they?! Loved them all.

We are in for another round of bad weather. Already very dark to my west which is where our weather comes from. The bad stuff is warned to come late this afternoon again. Wiped out half of Minden, IA which is not far from me just 3 days ago. Scary. And a horrible mess.

    1. Mary Etherington Post author

Fran – of course I didn’t realize you were next door to Minden – oh, the devastating pictures we’ve seen on tv! How do these homeowners go on? Where do they sleep, eat, shower, get dressed??? Do they move in with relatives, a hotel, rent an apartment? It looks impossible to me. They have nothing left – not even a change of clothes. Do,you have friends who live in Minden? Please tell me.

Our pets are so lucky to have cuddles and quilts. Thanks Mary for sharing what we love and care for daily….to pet our fabrics and furry buddies.

Great pictures. I love the scrappy border on the picture that follows Slinky on the quilt. I often do scrappy borders, but seldom see them.

    1. patti

vicki, which quilt are you talking about? slinky is on a quilt top, the backing is facing up. that quilt is on top of my scrappy bargello (a bonnie hunter free pattern) with one of my favorite fabrics as the final larger border. however, you may be talking about something completely different. hope i helped and didn’t confuse things more. patti in florida
