Reed came this afternoon and as we were doing chores he found a newly laid goose egg. He wondered how it would taste – why didn’t I take a picture of him with that big goose egg. I offered to fry it for him so we went to the house and that goose egg completely filled my small fry pan. He wanted it over easy but with a yolk that size I couldn’t quite get it flipped. He said it was delicious – with a piece of toast and jam. Again – why didn’t I take a picture?
When I took Reed home I got to see his new coop and his growing chickens – I will definitely take pictures – it’s the sweetest little chicken coop I’ve ever seen. I want one!
Another busy but really fun day on the farm!
What a cute story of the fried egg meal! Everyone looks tuckered out from the big day on the farm. Get some rest. Tomorrow it starts all over again….
You do not need one, ( sweet little chicken coop) though!!
I wonder if Reed is a tired as the ones that live on the farm? Plain tuckered out. Love the goose egg story.
Better to eat a goose egg than have one! Reed sounds like a great kid. Thanks for our Hazel and Telly fix and Rox. They do look worn out!!
Reed sounds like a terrific and fun young man to have help you. π
How about an update on your recently hatched chick? Any recent pictures or does s/he move too fast!
The relationship you have with Reed is so special. I’m sure when he grows up and looks back on his time with you and your farm it will have made a very positive impression on his life. You will have done good work without even realizing it. Can’t wait for more pictures and news of the kittens and the new chick.
Looking forward or the photo of other chicken coop!
Those dogs really looked tired Mary! Even your little spitfire, and she must have been in the dirt her coat is not as white. Not too long ago I gave Zena a bath and two days later she rolled onto something nasty. So, she got another bath! She really enjoys being outdoors chasing whatever she sees.
Felicia – does Zena know how lucky she is?
Mary, I think she knows that her life is different. She doesn’t lack for attention, is not caged unless we absolutely can’t take her with us. She gets to visit her former mom and is very happy to see her, but she knows me and is always happy to come home. I am so lucky to have her in my life and my hubby loves her two! She is the mother of jealousy, but that is OK.
Love your posts and wish I lived on a big piece of property so I could have more dogs and maybe some chickens. Have a great day, Mary.
