I went to an urgent care clinic today and left with three prescriptions. Tonight I’m trying to pretend I’m feeling better. Or maybe tomorrow.

The postal service – hmmmm. Today I received two Valentine cards (from Renee and Susie) that were mailed on February 10, 2 full weeks ago. One of these senders also sent me a box last week that took only a couple days. Strange, don’t you think?
Oh, and one more thing – our dryer clunked out this afternoon. And it’s built in allowing only 28”. When we didn’t buy a matching dryer to the washer last year it was because we had to tear out an entire counter and cupboard since the new dryer was going to be 2” wider than the old one. So the old one hung in for another year or so. That’s where we are again.

I laughed at the cartoon with the two ladies. I think I am currently the one with the pill necklace! I am on six different pills to keep my AFib under control. Hopefully, the ablation I’m going to have will eliminate some of them according to the doctor. I hope you get rid of the cough soon. My daughter has a nasty cough, too. I have trouble getting one of my magazines. I called the company and asked if my issues could be sent to a friend’s house. She got two issues, and now I have not received the current issue. I can’t figure out where the magazines are going. It is really frustrating! I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow.
Diane – Rick has had an ablation – I’m sure yours will also be successful making your life easier. Oh, the magazine issue is real –
Hi Mary and all the readers. Glad you got some meds for your cough Mary. I agree the post office is not what it used to be. About a month ago I called a different PO than the one that delivers our mail because there was never an answer when I tried to call them. Come to find out they had a new number. Their response was that the phone system was being updated and the number was on their website. Wrong the website was not updated. We made sure to let many neighbors know of the new phone number.
On the upside my daughter had a follow up doctor’s appointment today and everything looks good. She is able to be up for longer periods of time and next week no restrictions except no lifting over 10 pounds. Next appointment in 3 months. She also got a promotion to a director of Dallas Housing Authority the week before her surgery. She is trying not to think too much about it during her four week recovery.
I spent some time outside yesterday and today trimming bushes. Love the fresh air but pretty soggy in the yard and deer poop all over.
Spring is not far behind.
Rita – such good news about Kim! Regarding the post office – we hear on the news that they’re going broke. I think it’s a matter of somebody higher up making the rules that simply aren’t relative to the local service.
The powers that be don’t give a fig about people in the hinterlands, either the employees or the customers.
Mary, sure hope those meds make you feel better quickly! It’s been a really bad winter for colds, flu, & upper respiratory infections. Love the quilts today, especially the star quilt with the red background! Both are lovely! I have my friend’s dog Preston while they’re in FL helping a family member. He was my Bentley’s buddy & as soon as he came in the door he searched every room for Bentley! For those that don’t know , Bentley crossed the Rainbow bridge last Oct & Preston isn’t the only one that misses Bentley!
Mary, so glad you got some meds and hope they kick in soon! Sorry about your dryer situation. Hope you can find a solution that doesn’t require you to tear up your cupboards.
Sherry W, your quilt is stunning!! I also love the star quilt with the crimson background.
We are having a wind event in Seattle…so far we haven’t lost power but many have.
Have fun with Hank!😀
Vicki – I’m planning to play for church this Sunday – I hope you don’t see me have a coughing attack – when I miss a Sunday at church I’m lost the following week.
I had something similar but didn’t go to the doctor for 4 days. Finally went and tested positive for influenza A, the very thing I had a flu shot for in Oct. I’m back to normal now and hope you will be soon too.
Pat – I tested negative for both Covid and Influenza A. I have no idea if what I have even has a name – the dr didn’t say.
Hank can’t wait to go to Mary and Keeper’s. One more sleep and he will be there…………
I’m fairly certain that I’ll miss Hank WAY MORE than he will miss me. After all, Mary’s place is FUN all the time. Things to do, Keeper to play with, Mary to spoil him. What’s not to love? We are so fortunate to have Mary willing to keep our boy.
Most evenings Hank jumps up in the recliner with me and we watch TV and then he falls asleep while I’m petting him. This is our favorite time together. Close 2nd is first thing in the morning when as soon as I get up I give him a long belly rub while he stretches out. He’s as long as a football field I think. He’s a sweet boy and I will miss him immensely while we are gone !
Glad you got checked out and now lets hope those meds kick in and you start to feel better. The cough can last a long time. Lots of adds to click today. The star quilt with the red background is wonderful, I need to move out of my comfort zone and use more colorful backgrounds. Love it. Hank is a handsome dog.
Love that picture of Hank. He’s a real beauty. ☺
Sherry’s quilt is outstanding.
I do hate auto correct on my Kindle. Have to proofread everything I write. Amazing what comes up sometimes.
Hate to hear what ‘s happening with the post office. I thought things were improving. And our p.o. workers are so nice.
Hope you feel better sooner than later, Mary. I can relate to the size of the appliances. Can’t believe you can’t get a standard size. I don’t want to remodel my kitchen to get a new refrigerator. I’m hanging into my 30 year old washer and dryer. New ones don’t last!I
Sunshine today. Yay!

Mail service is weird to say the least! Last year I mailed a birthday card to Michigan, they didn’t receive it on time but didn’t say anything to me thing….i forgot! Two weeks later they received the card and a Christmas card from December! Then it also takes a week to Sioux Falls….?
Loving the weather! Sit in the sun and let it help heal you. Enjoy Hank!
So glad you went to the doctor, hopefully you will be feeling better soon! Love the quilts today! And the cartoon was a hoot, I can relate!
Those meds should help you on your way to kicking that nasty cough. Must be the time of year for appliances to die. My refrigerator gave up yesterday so I had to spend a day shopping for a new one & hoping there was one in stock somewhere. My husband repaired this old fridge 2 times but it’s 18 yrs old & past it’s life span. And don’t get me started about the office. I’m beginning to think it’s a plot to close it down.
Oh Des, I hold my breath every time my refrigerator makes a weird noise as I would be in the same boat as Mary with cupboard size. Ours just fit in many many years ago and now the ones are larger than this one so we’d have to saw out part of a pantry or cupboard. Makes me sick even thinking of that time. Sadly I don’t want one with all the bells and whistles. I just want a basic one. I feel for those looking for new appliances.
Kathy, I have very little space for a new refrigerator also. We just wanted a simple one too. My kitchen is not large & we are empty nesters in our 70’s. Some of the newer ones are so huge & the prices are unbelievable-over $3000! We live in a very rural area of PA so there were simple fridges available. Time to go add more ice to the ice chests while we wait for delivery.
Hi Kathy
We also have a very small place for a new fridge & ours bit the dust last July. I was able to purchase a new whirlpool that fit from Best Buy. No bells and whistles but it works great…u have to buy the icemaker separate which is the only downside because they are had to get…hope this helps u!
Thanks Sandy for good information as we do still have a Best Buy near us to shop. We use to support a locally owned appliance store but it’s gone out of business and when we looked at Lowe’s, it was all these huge clear window refrigerators so that made us worry. When you say you want a smaller basic style, they said nope not around anymore.
Oh Mary I’m so sorry you’re sick! But glad you got meds – praying they help you and you feel better very soon! I recently saw that cartoon and laughed so hard.
I am flummoxed by the P.O. – I mailed a Valentine package on Feb 5 to arrive on Feb 8 ( I thought I was ahead of the game!) it never arrived – so I kept checking the tracking number. Every time I tried calling only got an automated “person” who said they’d send me a link. I tried link – it said that it was sitting in Indianapolis. I finally called my local PO and they said 1000’s of packages were just sitting at a distribution center in Indianapolis and people had actually called their congressmen because there was no reason for the pile up. My package finally arrived at its destination on Feb 20. I was very frustrated because I paid for 3 day delivery!! Crazy 😡
That’s life! Enjoy Hank’s visit 🐾🐶
That postal package distribution center has been in the news a lot in Indy. Congressman Shreve looked into it and demanded it be fixed immediately. Apparently the center used to be at the airport, but last summer they moved it into a much bigger facility across town but didn’t hire more people for it—of course. Hopefully it will be improved soon. I live 65 miles north but all our mail is routed through Indy—it’s maddening!
Hope you start feeling better Mary. Three meds should help. Love the quilts today. i didn’t join in on Bonnie Hunter’s mystery quilt this year. That Old Town is something!!!! Lots of work for sure. I love the star quilt with the red background. Have fun with Hank! We are having some nice weather here in NH also. Temps are in the 40’s this week.
Hi Mary
Praying you feel better soon and sleep soundly 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
God bless you

Mary, feel better soon! Glad you saw someone and have some medicine; now it should be just a matter of time.
Hope you feel better soon Mary. Those quilts are spectacular. What a clever way to break up the plain background and border fabric. It’s such a good idea.
Mary, sure hope you are feeling better soon!! Don’t get me started on the post office situation!! We haven’t gotten any mail since last Thursday, finally today my mailbox was full of mail from the last 3 days!! But during that time I received some packages I had ordered. They are delivered separately here from the regular mail, even though they come by the US postal service– so why can I get a package, but not regular mail??? Have fun with Hank when he gets there!!
Debra – that has happened here, too. Now the post office doesn’t bring the Amazon packages – there’s a “local” Amazon delivery service instead. I asked the gal at the po about that and her reaction was be careful what you wish for.
Hope your new meds do the trick. There are so many viruses around right now.
Hoping the meds kick in soon to make you feel better. No fun feeling dragged out. Keep drinking fluids as best you can.
I sewed some kennel quilts this afternoon for a friend who does cat rescues and does craft shows to raise funds for their care as well as stock a pet food pantry. Those are the good people I like thinking about and glad I know.
Oh, wow, Mary. . . Good for you for taking so much advice about going to the doctor!! Sure hope the meds get you feeling better right away!! No fun feeling crappy when we’re having this wonderful spring weather in February!!
Take care girl!!
Peggy – haha! Everybody has a different idea!
