Monday Night, 5-5-25

I didn’t have anything to write about tonight until Hazel and Keeper killed a groundhog late this afternoon. They make quite the team!

Sadly, she’s so proud.

What next????

    Mary,
Hello from Indianapolis where I am visiting with my daughter and son-in-law for a few days. We are gardening as always. She had a load of wood chips delivered and we are almost down to the end. We’ve cleaned flower beds and put down the wood chips and planted her seedlings which are nice sized plants already. She has two greenhouses so just think how many plants that is!! Her dogs are so fun. Bowser is slowing down a bit. Our walks have been more like strolls instead of walks and he turns around to come home sooner than he used to. But he loves to lay on a raised dog bed ON A QUILT near where I’m gardening.
My husband and son are watching the chickens and minding my greenhouse duties while I’m gone.
The quilts today and the last few weeks have been marvelous! Everyone is so talented. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Have a great day everyone. 🌻

Sunflower – what a nice diversion for you to visit them! And everywhere you are you garden! My back aches just imagining what you’re doing

Hazel & Keeper make quite a deadly team. And that’s just the trait of the fearless Jack Russell. All of the quilts are wonderful to look at & it’s great to see the different fabrics that make each one unique. Still raining here in Pa & I think I can see the grass growing as I drink my coffee.

Des – yes, JRTs are fierce! And of course after that episode I had a tick crawling on my arm last night in bed. I do think Hazel has rubbed off on Keeper – I can’t imagine my sweet boy killing an animal but he did – several times now.

Mary we could use Keeper and Hazel here to get a ground hog. Have not had much luck getting them yet. Got our plants to plant in the garden yesterday. Hope to get them planted in the next day or two. Working on the binding of a quilt. Two sides to go with hand binding.
The quilts are fantastic. What a wonderful gift they have received.
    Have a great day everyone!

Rita – are you referring to Joy’s quilt recipients? I think she told me they’re engaged. Aren’t they cute?

Oh my word-Keeper and Hazel are a killing team! They have no fear! And I thought it was something when my Hank brought a dead mouse to the back door 😂
    Nice quilts-like them all.

Cindy – I could only hope for just a dead mouse. One night two winters ago she brought in a dead rabbit thru the dog door and put it on her bed in the living room!

Yikes! Glad I don’t have a dog door. Hank likes to play with dried poop from other critters that come into our yard at night. He puts it in his mouth-tosses it out-chases it and does it over and over. Try to get him to drop it and he will occasionally eat it. Yuck!!!

Taking on that ground hog was a big project! He will not be bothering your garden. They are two brave dogs, and you can always depend on them to provide blog news. 😊
I really like the beautiful Wagon Wheel quilt.
    Thanks , Mary 🥰

Jeanie – honestly, I never know what those two will come up with next! Rick and I were hooking up a hose and I heard Keeper bark – Hazel headed there in a split second! I followed and they were attacking the woodchuck behind the woodshed. They drug it to the waterway and they finished it off. I couldn’t look until it was over. It’s one thing if they kill anything but just do it fast and don’t torture the critter. Ugh.

Vickie – I think Keeper got it under control for her and then she took over. She went back out there a couple times tonight – to see if it was still dead, I’ll bet. Haha!!

There were no place to click on the ads tonight!?
    Great quilt pictures.
Was it last year you had a ribbon tied on trees in the wilderness trail where the snow was drifted to? I can’t remember. Time flies.
Nice paint job, very nice parking job
I guess stress is catching up with me…I have another cold. ☹️

Jo – oh, I am so sorry you’re sick again. You’d better catch up on your sleep and take your vitamins. Stress is hard on a person – you need some good meds. Tell your doctor! It was two years ago when we had the snow and I did that. This year our grass is mostly dead because we had no snow cover at all – none.
