I think you’re gonna love this fabric show!

Wasn’t that fun?
Reader photos

If you have a Hoya plant of any variety, let’s see it. Send me a picture. I think I have at least 5 kinds and I’ll take pictures to post.
Another hot day but I didn’t think it was as bad as yesterday because there was a breeze. I finished mowing by 10:30 am – not even very wet so I just mowed and got it done before it hit 90+.
Did you see the Fever game tonight? Caitlyn had 45 points – a new record. I think she’s ba-ck! I hope so.

Hallelujah! I fell in love with the tan & white fern swirl fabric & went on a quest to find it. Tickled pink I was successful. I bought 3 yds!! Hey, when you love it & don’t have a clue what you’ll use it for, you definitely don’t want to get caught short!!
For anyone interested it’s Sunflower Whispers Ferns Blush by Lisa Audit for Riley Blake Designs, C16672-BLUSH
Thanks, Mary, for all you do!! Take care of yourself sweetie!! God bless you & keep you safe!!
Lis – wow! You did a good detective job!!!
Yes ma’am! I even shopped around & bought it in AL. Shipping cost was less & the shop had it on sale 20% off.
Now that’s a wink from God I’ll take every time!!
Love you & Mortie!! Whooda thunk that sweet baby would be such a blessing. I love everything you post about the farm & all your babies. It amazes me how you’ve taught Keeper to ignore the chickens. I think you’re The Animal Whisperer!!
Mary,
Thanks for showing the fabric information. My favorite is the Riley Blake collection and I don’t even like the color pink! But that bundle just speaks to me. I also like the bright wavy fabric and the Camelot print. You are going to be having some fun.
Love all the reader quilts today. And the garden pictures.
Our air was better this morning and then We got a hard downpour of rain and the smoke smell was back. I wore a mask when I went to let the chickens free range for an hour tonight. They are so funny, I was pulling some weeds and whenever I moved to a new spot to pick more weeds, the chickens would gather round me but then they would go away and look for bugs, then be right around me again when I moved. Not sure why but they are very social I guess.
Have a good Sunday, everyone. 🌻
Sunflower – I know why – they love you!!!! I experimented today and let the “chicks” in with the old hens but I’m worried about my one huge rooster mounting them! I wish he’d just die of natural causes.
I love pink and I often use pale pink as a neutral.
Love your fabric purchases. All is so beautiful. Anxious to see what you make out of it.
Yes, watched Fever game and I agree that Caitlyn played like she used to play her game. Enjoyed it a lot.
Maybe the fat quarters without selvages were cut from wide backing fabrics?
Dot – I guess that’s a possibility
Thanks for the update on the Caitlyn game!! Love all the fabric!! It will be fun to see what you make!! Mortise needed to be n the picture!! 😂
Oh, what a beautiful fabric show! Ashamed to admit that I had to go back twice before I got the yellow stripe with the pink fabric comment. So cute! I wish I had the one with the books and reading glasses and the one with the colorful circles. Thanks so much for the lovely entertainment.
I can’t see any yellow stripe with the pink fabric!
Brenda – I knew I had not purchased a yellow stripe! Haha! I had to go back and look, too.
What a great collection of fabric. Fun time with Connie.
We had the smoke yesterday, but rain came and covered most of the area around me and it’s clear now. I must have been on my phone all tracking all the air quality indexes. South of me Dayton was the worse. I’m sure high traffic doesn’t help.
I’m happy for Caitlin Clark. She’s one in a million!
Fun to see the variety of fabrics – I don’t get out much and haven’t been in a quilt shop for years – I miss those years! But yesterday picked up 5 yards of a blue/gray solid for 2.50/yd at big store which is switching
to selling only pre pacs of mostly basics. Lucky to find the nice color/quality/weight/price for backing, etc.
I felt sorry to see the pond redo. Where will the geese go? Weather here is welcome: low 80’s, off/on rain, mild breeze. Plants are perking up (if still alive!)
A good weekend for you all, wherever you are! Thanks Mary – you’re the Best!
Judy – the geese have not used the pond in months and they have 3 swimming pools. I can always run water into the pond again but it takes a lot of electricity to run the pump for hours.
What fun fabrics. I read your blog last night and didn’t realize the fever was playing-glad you didn’t reveal the score. Started watching at 11 and it didn’t get over until 1am. What a game! Really like watching Caitlyn and Kelsey Michell play together.
Cindy K – did you watch the Fever tonight?
Will be fun to see what you do with your new purchases.
Love the puppy fabric and the dressmaker fabric but I don’t think the yellow stripe goes with the pink butterfly fabrics. What a fun shopping trip. My husband gave me a gift certificate for my local quilt shop for my birthday this week and I won $50.00 on the lottery ticket he gave me. Happy shopping ahead.
Suzanne / had to go back and look because I didn’t remember a yellow stripe!!
Mortie’s tail?
I love seeing photos of Mortie. Our last cat was so similar but his name was Harvey the Horrible. He was a scamp!.
We were holding our breaths last night watching the end of the Fever game last night. We are so happy for Caitlyn. It was her night to shine, and shine she did!
Another hot day here again. The main boss of the building crew is working here this morning by himself. He is such a good guy. His team is supposed to go to Idaho and build a huge building out there for a rancher, but will get ours enclosed before they go. They do wonderful work, and we are so happy with how it is turning out.
Love all your fabric. Like others, will love seeing what you do with all of it.
Jeanine – send pictures!!!! I could hardly watch the end of the game – scared – almost covered my eyes. I’m so happy for cc!!!
Mary – I will send some pictures when it gets the steel on the outside. I’m not sure if that will happen before they have to go to Idaho. We will see how it goes next week. Our son can still make the inside walls even if the outside isn’t completely finished.
Another great fabric show, Mary! Love prints with cozy scenes of houses, etc. Now I want to run upstairs and find the ones I have in my stash. But I can’t get distracted …. I’m so close to finishing a Burgoyne Surrounded top. Must stay focused….. Can’t go outside to do anything because of all the wildfire smoke so I’ve been making good progress “stuck” inside in the sewing room. PS What a thoughtful reader to send you those adorable “Mortie” S&P shakers. Also, the picture of Farmer Tim’s corn from a couple days ago – just WOW!!! ~ Suzansone in Michigan
I do know how to spell my own name….. LOL
You did “good”, love the fabrics. I am doing quilts for a group that does rehab in places that have had floods and they are trying to help the affected areas. Using all of my scraps, just sewing them together to make material, no pattern. Am working on getting the scraps done and then on to the material in my stash. Soon to be 85, it is time to get rid of some of this “stuff”.
Girlfriend – it looks like you shopped for me!! I love each and every piece, especially the ‘word’ fabric.
Too hot to do anything today, so sewing at a friend’s house. We park in the cool garage, eat a salad lunch and sew, sew, sew. 7 of us is a perfect number.
I’m saving this post so I can go back and shop some of those fabrics.
Give Hazel a hug from Elliott!
Love those fabrics! It’s like going to a fabric shop. Not the same however as I can’t touch it!
Best time to mow. Best time to take a walk and here I sit!
Today I will finish the quilt I have been working on for four days on the long arm. It’s coming out great but so much stop and go so I only a quarter segment at one time.
Finishing is so much fun! ~ Suzanne in Michigan
“I would like a tail’s length of fabric please “
My friend thinks if they leave the salvage on you are getting a smaller piece. She also doesn’t want ice in her drink then orders a glass of ice. FRUGAL no just tight. Embarrassing
I love the Whistler fabrics! The scenes are great! And I love the pink fabrics by that precious yellow tail!!!!! There is a beautiful fabric with pink blossoms scattered about…..love it. This morning I’m in a hospital room with husband hoping they let us go home today. We came Thursday with possible gall bladder problems. We await the doctor visit. Hospitals are havens of loving care but not places you want to be very long!!!!But we’ve met so many lovely people who have served us kindly in this Killeen, Texas facility. ❤️. So grateful.
Carol – oh, dang!!! In the hospital! Yes, they can be wonderful but I remember my long visit with nightmares. And then you have to sit and wait for the dr. I hope you are released today and your hubby feels better at home.
Mary,
That was fantastic, each one betterm oooing and awing here, thinking what, how, love that one!
Thx for that morning wake up
Have a super cool day?
Hot here too, but no smoke..
Love love love the fabric show , especially that Tula ric rac.
Have a great day everyone 🥰
Striped bindings are my favorite!
Have fun with your new fabrics.
You got quite the score! Love the ones with the cats and dogs and the farm. I am partial to fabrics with words also. All beautiful. I especially love how Mortie’s tail got in there… always good to have a helper. Can’t wait to see what you do with the fabric. Something creative I’m sure.
Beautiful fabric, I made my granddaughter’s Christmas dress out of Christmas kitty fabric , it’s all beautiful,
Mary, I loved seeing all of your fabrics. Do you have projects in mind? How do you decide what to buy & how much of each? Looks like you & Connie had a fun day. Must be an awesome shop to visit with the walls covered with quilts.
Sue – since we have always sewed and combined multiple fabrics I usually buy 1/3 yd. I wish I had bought more of the farm fabric and might go back. I’m thinking about it. I cut up that large floral last night and will sew today in the AC
1/3 yard is my goto as well. Been buying florals lately because they are fun to cut up.
I bet Caitlyn is able to breathe properly since the prejudice/jealousy being physically manifested against her has been exposed. Might feel a little safer and relaxed to let her be her best.
Brenda – excellent point! And she did!
