Dandy – $5.00 and one SASE

Thank you, Twyla, for this nice picture!

Small Flag House – $5.00 and one SASE

Flag House – $5.00 and one SASE

Flag Table Runner – $5.00 and one SASE

General’s Row – $5.00 and one SASE

OR – if ordering multiples, just include one SASE.

These four patterns can actually all fit in ONE SASE.

Dandy needs to have its own SASE and cannot be combined with the other four patterns.

Is this clear as mud? Dandy requires its own SASE.

Patterns 1-4 can all fit in one SASE – stamps are expensive! These patterns are available until July 10 only. Then I file everything and find summer patterns. By August I’ll be looking at early fall patterns. Please try to stay within these guidelines. I haven’t offered many patterns since spring yard work began because it’s very time consuming and I just don’t have the time.

With all the rain the grass grows almost before my eyes! My new mower should be here this week!

This was Tim’s corn last weekend and by now it’s much taller. I’ll check it tomorrow.

Tomorrow I’ll measure it again – in the last week the rows have closed – almost before my eyes!

Love all the patriotic quilts. So beautiful. And the garden pictures are lovely. Even down to the toad!!! Scary what the flooding can do. Thinking of Connie. Prayers for Iowa and Minnesota and South Dakota.

  2. Jo in Wyoming

Mary, Iowa flooding is on the news again tonight, I hope all your friends there are making safety number one. The pictures we see are devastating.
On the bright note. The chickens are great. Quilts, flowers, toad, corn, and patterns are such fun.
    Loretta missed seeing Hazel today!

Jo – the pictures we are also seeing are shocking!! No flooding here for us but fields even 20 miles NW of us are flooded. Not a good start to summer.

  3. Jeanie S, Central IL

What a beautiful post! The patriotic quilts are beautiful and inspiring. I love the red cone flowers!
Love seeing the happy chickens. Thanks, Mary 🥰

  4. Nancy Td

Enjoyed all the pictures of the quilts, chickens, flowers and corn.
The flooding is terrible. And we had more rain this afternoon. Now some strong winds. I feel for everyone that lost so much in the floods. My Mom was in the flood of 1978 in Rochester. A lot of work to clean up. Tried to weed my garden today but, it is too wet.
Connie I hope the water has crested and the dock is back to normal soon.Speedy recovery wishes for Larry and Rick.

Love all the pictures – patriotic, flowers , corn, animals. Larry’s progress update sounds good. Continued prayers for healing . . for Rick as well. My goodness – the water swell at Connie’s dock . . . looking forward to the next picture showing it going down. Mary, you are so wonderful to coordinate all these pictures for us to enjoy and be inspired on so many levels. Happy Monday all!

My favorite time of year. I love all the red, white & blue quilts. Twyla’s picture is so cute. Thanks everyone for sharing your pictures – you inspire me. My plants are loving the rain, but unfortunately so are the deer. I’ve got to rake up the mulch that was washed into the yard. A minor inconvenience compared to what some people are dealing with.

    Hope work is doing fine
I’m glad the chickens are happy too
I love all the beautiful quilts

  9. Connie R. in Wis

Your red, white and blue displays are just beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing

  10. Deb from Iowa

Love all of the red, white and blue flags and quilts today. Twyla’s entry is stunning. And, that red cone flower is a beauty. Was the “Raspberry Cat” a real cat who lived at the quilt shop? Bob is my favorite chicken in your flock. He’s such a handsome bird with his brown speckled feathers. Can’t wait to see what’s next, as we near July 4th. Great post Mary!

Deb – yup, Bobber and Big Red really stand out in the crowd. Several others are standing out from the crowd, too, but that just means that I’ll really feel the loss when something happens to them. I’m so scared to let them free range out of their big yard.

    2. Mary Etherington Post author

Deb – sorry, no, raspberry cat was not a real cat – just something we thought up for a different line of patterns.

Your readers’ quilts and flowers are amazing! My favorite quilt to hang mid-June through July is Country Threads’ “Be Still.” I made it in 2020…a perfect quilt for that year!

My niece has been sending me pictures of the river near their farm in Hardwich MN. The river started going down a little yesterday.

  12. Joyce from NY

    Beautiful pictures today, so inspirational!
Raining here again this morning but a little cooler. The humidity has been bad, my lawn doesn’t stop growing!
Watched Caitlin Clark yesterday, close game but lost it in the end.

Beautiful quilts, toad, chickens and corn too! Glad to hear Larry is doing better. Hope Rick is too. We need rain here in KC. I hate to say that since Iowa has had flooding.

  14. Kathy in western NY

Seeing all the patriotic decorations inspires me to bring out a couple more I have here. Love all the pictures. And gosh I hope Connie’s dock isn’t under any more water. That’s scary. We came home last night from camp and enjoying a beautiful day of 77 degrees so finally some relief from the brutal heat here.

  15. Charlotte in No. California

Wow! That is a lot of water at Connie’s dock in just a day. Hope it goes down soon. Such beautiful quilts and flowers today! I love seeing the green corn fields.

  16. Kim from Wi

The flooding in Iowa is unbelievable, so much damage to homes and property. I hope Connie sees the levels drop soon. What wonderful quilts in today’s posts, I feel inspired to put some patriotic items out. Tims corn is looking great, it does grow overnight. We just got home from 23 days in Alaska, cruise and land tour. We also spent 2 days in Anchorage and 3 days in Vancouver. It was gorgeous weather and some beautiful scenery, a trip of a lifetime for us with our daughter. Nice to be home and needing to unpack suitcases and lots of boxes from moving a few days before our trip. We had lots of rain while we were gone but since our yard is not done, the sand is doing fine. Stay safe and dry our Iowa friends.

Kim – thank you for the card from Alaska!! I was surprised to get it. Must have been quite a trip and then you come home to unpacking. Ugh. I’ll keep you posted on Connie’s water situation.

the quilts are fantastic. love the eye candy. the chickens look like they want out the fence. ha! connie is getting lots of water. the photos they show on tv are horrible. i’m sorry for the weather in your part of the world. we started getting rain yesterday. i always enjoy the photos. i made it upstairs yesterday. found a top and pulled backing and fabric for the binding. found another top that will need a border, found it. another top needed a border also so found that fabric. who knows how long it will take to get those further. i went up looking for a nice fabric to use for sashing and maybe border on some blocks i’m putting together. got nothing done on any of that today. did check out the 9″ finished crossed canoe blocks (very old b.o.m. with batiks and plaids) – have 20 blocks done but have many more to make – paper pieced – patterns are with them. had started making them in miniature also but think i’m giving that idea up. too much. happy stitching and better weather to all. patti in florida

I loved all the photos tonight! Summertime is the best until the humidity kicks in, anyway! And..was the toad sitting on a cactus that had no thorns? The lawn got mowed again today, and I still need to weed my flower gardens. We were taking the clippings to the compost site the other night and a couple we know were picking up clippings for their large garden, we gave them ours, and today we took our clippings to them again, this should do it for now anyway! So those clippings helped someone else, who would have given this a thought! I walked my bluebird trails today, one bluebird nest fledged, 2nd one has birdies who will fledge very soon, and to my surprise, a new nest with four eggs! Larry continues to heal. He is so lucky. Mid July he will get his custom made compression sleeve for the skin graft on his arm. Thank you to everyone who sent get well cards. One never knows how much a card is appreciated, he said a day brighter for sure. Thank you! So thoughtful.

    1. patti

glad to hear that larry is doing well. glad you could share your clippings to be used elsewhere, patti in florida

    2. Vicki Ibarra

Cindy, I read one of your notes recently that said Larry would likely wear the compression sleeve for a long time. I know someone who had bad burns on both arms twenty years ago. He recovered nicely and still wears the compression sleeves. He does it to protect his skin from the sun, but also because he feels better with them on. Best wishes to your and Larry with the recovery process.

    3. Carolyn Rector of Ohio

So glad that Larry is on the mend. Prayers for his continued good health. Love your story about during the clipping. I had a friend once who fed all his clippings to the Angus cattle. A gentleman farmer. I think he viewed them as his pets..
